Laura Stott's new album has been a huge success, reaching number one in many countries just one week after its release. She has also been nominated for several awards including Best British/Irish Female Artist and Best Single at the VMAS. While worried that fans may not like the change to a more indie/rock style compared to her first album, the results have been great and fans love it. Stott finds the spotlight challenging at times but deals with it by having fun and living her life, and relies on her close friends and family for support when things get overwhelming.

LS: It’sINCREDIBLE. I wouldn’texpectthistohappeninjusta week,the factat it’sat numberone it’s
a dream come true.
I: Thisnewalbumhas more of the indie/rockstyle incomparisontoyourfirstone,wasyouquite
worriedthatthe fans wouldn’tlikethe change.
LS: whenrecordingthisalbumIwas veryconfidentasIwas beginningtoproduce musicthatsuited
me.At firstI wasquite scaredthat some fanswouldn’tlike the change of the new soundthissecond
albumhas,but it’sall abouttakingrisks,and inthe endthe resultscame outgreat as fanslove itand
if you don’tlike it,deal withit.
I: well manypeople will certainlyagreewithyouthere asyouralbumisnumberone in68 countries
whichisprettyinsane andyou’ve been nominateforBestBritish/IrishfemaleartistandBestsingle
at the VMA,nowthat’simpressive.
LS: I can’t believeit.WhenIhearthese numbersandhow successful the albumhas,it’sincredible
and whenIfoundout I wasnominatedIcried.It’sjust surreal it’slike dreamand I don’twantto
wake up.

LS: I rang mum.Me andmy mum we’re bothscreamingdownthe phone,becausewe we’rejustso
happy,we lookedmental.
I: Is ittrue that youwill be performingatthe VMAS also?
LS: you have to waitandsee won’t you

I: Evenwiththisspot lightdo you findithard to be in the spot light?
LS: I mean,sometimesitcanbe hard beinginthe spotlightbecause Inormallyhave camerainmy
face,no one can stop me fromhavingfunand livingmy life becauseeitherwayI have to deal withit
or I wouldn’tbe doingsomethingIlove and experiencingthings I’veonlyimaginedinmywildest
dreams.

LS: WhenI do getin these situationsbecause everything abittoomuch I mostlygoto my close
friendsorfamilyastheyalwaysknowhow to calmme downandcheerme upwhenI’mdown.
