People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?
So while music probably doesn't cause us to have horrible relationships with others it could be a factor in our emotional wellbeing. So the heartbreak, rejection and pain you suffer is probably not because of your music, but it may be why you recover as quickly afterward

This article delves into the various aspects of Tom Selleck health. exploring his fitness regimen, diet, mental health. and the challenges he has encountered as he ages. We'll look at how he maintains his well-being. the health issues he has faced, and his approach to ageing .
Early Life and Career
Childhood and Athletic Beginnings
Tom Selleck was born on January 29, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in Sherman Oaks, California. From an early age, he was involved in sports, particularly basketball. which played a significant role in his physical development. His athletic pursuits continued into college. where he attended the University of Southern California (USC) on a basketball scholarship. This early involvement in sports laid a strong foundation for his physical health and disciplined lifestyle.
Transition to Acting
Selleck's transition from an athlete to an actor came with its physical demands. His first significant role in "Magnum P.I." required him to perform various stunts and maintain a fit appearance. This role, which he played from 1980 to 1988. necessitated a rigorous fitness routine to meet the show's demands. setting the stage for his long-term commitment to health and wellness.
Fitness Regimen
Workout Routine
Tom Selleck health and fitness regimen has evolved. adapting to his changing roles and age. During his "Magnum, P.I." days. RESULTS: Overall life span (LS) was 2252.1±1742.5 days and cumulative 5-year survival (5YS) reached 73.2%, 10 years – 64.8%, 20 years – 42.5%. 513 LCP lived more than 5 years (LS=3124.6±1525.6 days), 148 LCP – more than 10 years (LS=5054.4±1504.1 days).199 LCP died because of LC (LS=562.7±374.5 days). 5YS of LCP after bi/lobectomies was significantly superior in comparison with LCP after pneumonectomies (78.1% vs.63.7%, P=0.00001 by log-rank test). AT significantly improved 5YS (66.3% vs. 34.8%) (P=0.00000 by log-rank test) only for LCP with N1-2. Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: phase transition (PT) early-invasive LC in terms of synergetics, PT N0—N12, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells- CC and blood cells subpopulations), G1-3, histology, glucose, AT, blood cell circuit, prothrombin index, heparin tolerance, recalcification time (P=0.000-0.038). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and PT early-invasive LC (rank=1), PT N0—N12 (rank=2), thrombocytes/CC (3), erythrocytes/CC (4), eosinophils/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), segmented neutrophils/CC (8), stick neutrophils/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10); leucocytes/CC (11). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (area under ROC curve=1.0; error=0.0).
CONCLUSIONS: 5YS of LCP after radical procedures significantly depended on: 1) PT early-invasive cancer; 2) PT N0--N12; 3) cell ratio factors; 4) blood cell circuit; 5) biochemical factors; 6) hemostasis system; 7) AT; 8) LC characteristics; 9) LC cell dynamics; 10) surgery type: lobectomy/pneumonectomy; 11) anthropometric data. Optimal diagnosis and treatment strategies for LC are: 1) screening and early detection of LC; 2) availability of experienced thoracic surgeons because of complexity of radical procedures; 3) aggressive en block surgery and adequate lymph node dissection for completeness; 4) precise prediction; 5) adjuvant chemoimmunoradiotherapy for LCP with unfavorable prognosis.
MANAGEMENT OF ATRIOVENTRICULAR CONDUCTION BLOCK.pdfJim Jacob Roy
Cardiac conduction defects can occur due to various causes.
Atrioventricular conduction blocks ( AV blocks ) are classified into 3 types.
This document describes the acute management of AV block.
2. How did a music do it ??
• Music is one of the
few activities that
involves using the
whole brain.
3. Music has surprising benefits
• Improving memory
• Improve focusing attention
• Improve physical
coordination and
development
4. What a music can do??
1) Music heals
2) Music has positive effect on the brain
3) Music improves physical performance
4) Music helps to work more productively
5) Music calms, relaxes and helps to sleep
6) Music improves mood and decreases
depression
5.
6. Effective therapy for pain
• Overall, music does have positive effects on
pain management.
• Music can help reduce both the sensation
and distress of both chronic pain and
postoperative pain.
• Listening to music can reduce chronic pain
from a range of painful conditions, by up to
21% and depression by up to 25%.
7. Theories about how music positively affects perceived
pain:
• Music serves as a distracter
• Music may give the patient a sense of
control
• Music causes the body to release
endorphins to counteract pain
• Slow music relaxes person by slowing their
breathing and heartbeat
8. Reducing blood pressure
• By playing recordings of relaxing music
every morning and evening, people with
high blood pressure can train
themselves to lower their blood
pressure - and keep it low.
• listening to just 30 minutes of classical,
Celtic or raga music every day may
significantly reduce high blood pressure.
9. Medicine for the heart
• Music is good for your heart.
• Italian and British researchers recruited young men and women, half of
whom were trained musicians. The participants slipped on head phones and
listened to six styles of music, including rap and classical pieces, with
random two-minute pauses.
• As the participants kicked back and listened, the researchers monitored
their breathing, heart rates and blood pressure.
• The participants had faster heart and breathing rates when they listened
to lively music.
• When the musical slowed, so did their heart and breathing rates. Some
results were surprising. During the musical pauses, heart and breathing
rates normalized or reached more optimal levels.
• Whether or not a person liked the style of music did not matter. The
tempo, or pace, of the music had the greatest effect on relaxation.
10. Speeds Post-Stroke Recovery
• A daily portion of one's favorite pop
melodies, classical music or jazz can speed
recovery from debilitating strokes,
according to the latest research.
• Music can help migraine and chronic
headache sufferers reduce the intensity,
frequency, and duration of the headaches.
11. Music boosts immunity
• Music can boost the immune function
• Scientists explain that a particular type of music can create
a positive and profound emotional experience, which leads to
secretion of immune-boosting hormones.
• Listening to music or singing can also decrease levels of
stress-related hormone cortisol.
• Higher levels of cortisol can lead to a decreased immune
response.
• Thus music contribute to a reduction in the factors
responsible for illness.
12.
13. Music enhances intelligence, learning and IQ
Music has the power to enhance some kinds of higher brain
function:
• Reading and literacy skills
• Spatial-temporal reasoning
• Mathematical abilities.
• Emotional intelligence
Listening to music or playing an instrument can actually
make you learn better.
14. The Mozart effect
• Earlier it has been thought that listening
to classical music, particularly Mozart,
enhances performance on cognitive tests.
• However, recent findings show that
listening to any music that is personally
enjoyable has positive effects on cognition.
15. Music improves memory performance
• Mozart's music and baroque music, with a 60 beats
per minute beat pattern, activates the left and right
brain.
• The simultaneous left and right brain action
maximizes learning and retention of information.
• The information being studied activates the left brain
while the music activates the right brain.
• Also, activities which engage both sides of the brain
at the same time, such as playing an instrument or
singing, cause the brain to be more capable of
processing information.
16. Music improves concentration and attention
• Easy listening music or relaxing classics
improves the duration and intensity of
concentration in all age groups and
ability levels.
• There is clear evidence, that children
who take music lessons develop a better
memory compared with children who
have no musical training.
17.
18. Music improves athletic performance
The four central hypotheses explaining music's
facilitation of exercise performance include:
• Reduction in the feeling of fatigue
• Increase in levels of psychological arousal
• Physiological relaxation response
• Improvement in motor coordination
19. Music improves athletic performance
• Choosing music that motivates you will make it
easier to start moving, walking, dancing, or any
other type of exercise that you enjoy.
• Music can make exercise feel more like
recreation and less like work.
• Furthermore, music enhances athletic
performance. Anyone who has ever gone on a
long run with their iPod or taken a particularly
energetic spinning class knows that music can
make the time pass more quickly.
20. Music improves body movement and coordination
• Music reduces muscle tension and
improves body movement and coordination
21.
22. Fatigue fighter
• Listening to upbeat music can be a great
way to find some extra energy.
• Music can effectively eliminate exercise-
induced fatigue and fatigue symptoms
caused by monotonous work.
23. Fatigue fighter = Fatigue fighter
• Keep in mind that listening to too much
pop and hard rock music can make you
more jittery than energized.
• Find out what type of music is most
beneficial for you.
• You could try classical music one day,
pop the next day and jazz the third day.
24. Music improves productivity
• Did you know ? You can perform better at
your work with music?
• According to a report in the journal
Neuroscience of Behavior and Physiology .
• A person's ability to recognize visual
images, including letters and numbers, is
faster when either rock or classical music
is playing in the background.
25.
26. Relaxing music induces sleep
Researchers have shown that just 45 minutes of relaxing
music before bedtime can make for a restful night.
Relaxing music reduces -
• Sympathetic nervous system activity
• Anxiety
• Blood pressure
• Heart and respiratory rate
And thus have positive effects on sleep via muscle
relaxation and distraction from thoughts.
27. Music reduces stress and aids relaxation
Listening to slow, quiet classical music, is proven to reduce stress.
How does music reduces stress?
• Physical relaxation - Music can promote relaxation of
tense muscles.
• Aids in stress relief activities - Music can help you get
"into the zone" when practicing yoga, self hypnosis or
guided imagery, can help you feel energized when
exercising and recover after exercising, help dissolve
the stress when you're soaking in the tub.
• Reduces negative emotions - Music, especially upbeat
tunes, can take your mind off what stresses you, and
help you feel more optimistic and positive.
28.
29. Heal the soul
• Music's ability to "heal the soul" is the
stuff of legend in every culture. Many
people find that music lifts their spirits.
• Modern research tends to confirm music's
psychotherapeutic benefits.
• Bright, cheerful music (e.g. Mozart,
Vivaldi, bluegrass, Klezmer, Salsa, reggae)
is the most obvious prescription for the
blues.
