The muscular system has three main types of muscles - skeletal, cardiac, and smooth. Skeletal muscles are attached to bones and allow movement by contracting and moving the bones. The cardiac muscle is only found in the heart and pumps blood throughout the body. Smooth muscles are involuntary and found within internal organs and blood vessels to aid functions like digestion and blood flow.

3. Skeletal There are more than 600 skeletal muscles. Skeletal muscles are attached to bones.It does three major jobs-it protects our vitale organs such as the brain,the heart and the lungs-it gives us the shape that we have, with out our skeletal system we would just be tissue and blood on the floor-it allows us to move because our muscles are attached to our bones, and when our muscles move our bones move and when our bones move we move.
