The students tested the pH, turbidity, total solids, and nitrate levels of a river. The pH was between 8-9, within the basic range. The total solids were high at 11 mg/liter, making the water dirty. However, the turbidity was low enough to see the bottom, and nitrates at 4.84 mg/liter were within the normal range. Based on the test results, the overall health of the river was determined to be normal.
