The following guide will outline the steps for installing the new Outbrain pixel. These steps can
also be found in the ‘Guide Me’ video on the right side of the dashboard.

Step 1: Remove the existing Outbrain pixel from your site pages if you have previously
installed it.
Step 2: In the Amplify dashboard go to the ‘Pixels’ tab and select 'Conversions' from the
drop down to install the advanced pixel. Please note you may currently only see the
'Conversions' pixel unless you are also testing Custom Audiences.
Step 3: Click ‘View Outbrain Pixel’ to get your tracking code. Make sure to install the
tracking code shown across your entire site by pasting it in every page header.

Step 4: Use Outbrain’s Chrome extension to test whether your pixel has been added
properly. Search for 'Outbrain Tag Tracker' in the Chrome Web Store and add the
extension.
Step 5: Once your pixel is ready to fire, you'll be ready to set up your conversions. First,
click 'Add Conversion.'

Step 6a: You can choose from two types of conversions. URL-based conversions refer to
specific pages on your site, such as a thank you page.
Step 6b: Event-based conversions: track specific actions users take on your site.
Use this type when there are multiple events on one page (i.e. email capture, button
clicks).
Step 6c: For event-based conversions, you will see a pop-up window with the event code
once you save your campaign.

Step 7: Create a name for your conversion, such as 'Add to Cart'
Step 8: Set the conversion window you’re looking to track. This is the time it takes from
click to conversion. The default is 60 days, but you may select any whole number between
1-60.

Step 9: Set the value of your conversion to help track overall ROI. Select the proper
currency value in the dropdown. For dynamic currency values, visit our Help Center.
Step 10: Check 'Include in Total Conversions' if you’d like to include these conversions in
your total conversions reporting.

Step 12a: For event-based conversions, you will see a pop-up window with the event code
once you click ‘Save’.
Step 12b: If you need to access the code again, click the eye icon in the ‘Type’ column of
the Conversions dashboard
Step 13: After saving your new conversion, the far left Status column will be green for
enabled conversions. You can have up to 20 enabled conversions at one time. To disable
conversions, click the ‘Status’ toggle to the left.

Step 14: You can check whether your pixel is working at any time by clicking the ‘Test’ link
next to your the tracking status.
Step 15: Conversion data will populate in the Amplify dashboard.
