2. SO…WHY TEACHING?
When I first began my college career, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to study. I chose a couple of
different majors, but none of them seemed to click with me. My mom and dad are both teachers,
and after giving some thought into the field I was certain it was what I wanted to be. The main
thing that drew me to the Education field was not my parents, however. It was the love I have for
teaching kids. Being a teacher is more than being an educational babysitter, it is about being a
positive, caring instructor who wants nothing more than to see their students achieve their goals.
3. BIOLOGY – THE STUDY OF LIFE
Biology is my concentration because I find the subject so fascinating. I look forward to the days
of being able to have labs in my class. My classroom will be setup with individual desks facing
towards an ActivBoard at the front of the room. The lab area of my classroom will contain sinks
and tools for dissecting and observing different things, depending on what we do in lab for the day.
4. WHAT NEXT?
I am also planning to get my Masters after I graduate. I plan to study in Leadership so that I can be
qualified to be a principal or maybe work in a school board office one day. Being in the Education
field, I am at the liberty of so many different routes. Even though the future of this remains to be
seen, I am looking forward to what other jobs I may have.
5. TEACHER VIDEO
Below is a video that helped affirm my want to be a teacher. It speaks volumes on how teachers
are called to be a student’s champion.
