Through involvement in their PLN, the author has gained confidence in using new skills and tools and benefited from collaboration and support of other teachers. They look forward to continuing to grow their skills through experimenting with new tools in their PLN.
Moodle
This student took an online Moodle course and found that while they enjoyed setting their own pace for learning, they realized they are more of an in-class student who needs a teacher present to fully understand the material. They did learn useful information from the course, including websites they plan to incorporate into their own teaching in the fall when they will have more confidence working with students.

They enjoyed the experience and friendly environment.

Overall, the author feels the senior project helped them grow and better prepare for future educational and work experiences.

Some challenges of teaching adult learners include competing for their time and wanting to teach more, while desiring to get to know students better. Her classroom is student-based, focusing on student collaboration to enhance learning. Her advice for new teachers is to have confidence and flexibility for challenges. Flexibility as an instructor is important for student success.
Mentoring matters
1) The author reflects on the importance of mentoring after reading a blog post from a new teacher who felt lost and without support.
2) The author recalls their own difficult first year teaching without a mentor. They responded to encourage the new teacher.

Reflection on my experience as a commerce teacher during internship programme
The document provides a reflection from a commerce teacher on their experience during a 3.5 month internship program. He acknowledges the constraints of learning management systems but believes communities could form more frequently if teachers and students embraced the idea of ongoing learning networks rather than seeing their class as an isolated event. Todd suggests role modeling active engagement, relating content to the present, recognizing weekly student contributions, allowing outside content, and following a 30/30/30 rule for discussion to help form communities within the constraints of the current class semester.
YCETC Blended Learning
Blended learning combines traditional face-to-face instruction with online education and self-paced learning. It uses the best tools available to meet learning objectives and outcomes, drawing from face-to-face interaction, independent study, and online collaboration between students and teachers. There is no single definition but it typically incorporates some combination of in-person and digital instruction.
