The students would attend classes during the day and some would get tutoring help with homework from service learning students, including the author, in the teachers' lounge after school. They would work on homework, joke around, and do art projects. Each grade would go to the cafeteria for arts and crafts led by Art Teacher Sra. Ramirez, where they worked on projects like quilting and paper mache. The author learned about the students' cultures while helping with art projects. Students could also play games in a game room or outside if the weather was nice. Art has played a role in expressing the students' cultures and communities.

2. The students would go though their daily tasks of classes, lunch, and then more classes School was generally the same for all of the students until three o’clock After classes the some of the students had the opportunity to have some help with school work

3. Some of the students would come down to the office and would get help with tutoring from some of the service learning students including me. We would go down the teachers lounge where we helped the students with the homework they were struggling with including reading and math.

6. Sra. Ramirezwould create the projects for each of the classes and help out any students that were struggling

7. Quilt working and now paper mache were a few of the large projects that the classes were working on.

8. I would learn a lot about their culture, family, and life while I would help them out with their art work.

9. Fun and games were somewhat part of the arts and crafts time. There is a game room connected to the cafeteria where the student could play games.

10. If it was a nice day out some of the students were allowed to go outside and play on the playground.

11. You can see how art has played a role around the school

13. Their art has helped express themselves, their culture and their community so that all can see and take a part of it with them.

14. These students now take this new art and creativity out into their communities and future communities using it to express themselves wherever they are
