Question.1. Explain the concept and structure of compensation.
Describe the functions and responsibilities of compensation
programme of an organization you are familiar with.
Answer: Compensationcanbe definedasall of the rewardsearnedbyemployees in return for their
labour. This includes:
 Direct financial compensation consisting of pay received in the form of wages, salaries,
bonuses and commissions provided at regular and consistent intervals
 Indirectfinancial compensationincludingall financial rewards thatare not included in direct
compensation and can be understood to form part of the social contract between the
employerandemployeesuchasbenefits,leaves,retirementplans,education,andemployee
services
