Standard business intelligence reports and dashboards are effective tools to describe the state of your organization or department. However, there are many questions that these tools cannot address, such as:
Why is this happening?
How will my organization be impacted if these trends continue?
What will happen next?
How can we change the outcome of this situation?
Advanced analytics tools are necessary to accurately and quickly address these questions through statistical analysis, forecasting, predictive modeling and intelligent optimization. By integrating advanced analytics solutions with existing business intelligence platforms, your organization will be better positioned to extract actionable insight from your data to gain a true competitive advantage.

Planning for Governance in Yammer While Working Like a NetworkPerficient, Inc.
Enterprise social networks require governance to operate most effectively, especially in highly regulated industries. It's a slippery slope - the more restrictive your governance policies, the less likely you are to see users collaborating naturally and often. Plus, when you’re used to thinking of “governance” in a SharePoint context, it can be difficult to understand how to govern a Yammer network properly while still encouraging user engagement.
When embracing enterprise social, it's important to understand the differences between social collaboration and the collaboration characteristics of older, document-first systems.
In this session, we covered:
-Best practices for governing a Yammer network
-The philosophical differences of governance in SharePoint and Yammer, and why sometimes less is more
-The features and functions that Yammer provides for governing users and content
Healthcare Portals: 5 Core Practices to make a Great Digital ExperiencePerficient, Inc.
Presenter: Mark Polly, Director, Portals, Content & Social, Perficient
We discuss five core practices that healthcare organizations must implement correctly in their portals to
achieve an excellent digital experience.
How do brands maintain and increase in-store traffic in an era when consumers are more digitally connected than ever and continue to shift their shopping behaviors online?
Even though consumers are living in an age where the digital space seems to dominate the shopping process, the internet is not “taking over” brick-and-mortar stores just yet. Some brands are successfully supplementing the store experience with compelling digital technologies to offer consumers a complete omni-channel experience. Brick-and-mortar stores still add significant value to the shopping experience beyond the sales that occur in the store by helping to increase online and mobile sales.
During this webinar, we explored how brands can use digital solutions to drive in-store traffic:
-How stores are still crucial to driving online purchases and how the digital experience directly impacts store activity
-The importance of a physical and digital omni-channel strategy
-The top digital experiences, both in and out of stores, that are driving traffic and sales
-How to produce actionable insights that drive foot traffic and optimize the in-store experience
Digital Disruption in Distribution and Manufacturing: How to Be a B2B LeaderPerficient, Inc.
Digital technology is quickly changing the rules of engagement for B2B companies in the manufacturing and distribution sectors. The convergence of data, content, intelligent devices, and artificial intelligence creates an opportunity for established companies to redefine themselves and become industry leaders. But many are missing this opportunity.
Forward-thinking companies in this transformation will make decisions by considering the overall market, moving quickly, and managing cross-functional change within the organization. The uncommitted will only consider their technology options and suffer from sub-par results…or do nothing at all.
We discussed:
-How to identify where you are in your digital journey
-How to apply “fast follower” principles and a proven framework to accelerate change
-Best practices and lessons learned by B2B organizations that have successfully achieved a higher level of digital maturity

Do you spend hours each month searching for, and not always finding, the document or information you need to do your job? These are often not just ‘would-like-to-have’ files, but rather those that you actually need to complete your work. Other times they are the ones that would help you do your job faster and better, if only you could find them.
Many organizations have numerous content repositories including databases, document management systems, file shares, content management systems, intranets, public-facing websites, and of course, clinical and safety systems. What if there were a way to search all of those repositories at once, using a single search box, and quickly pinpoint the exact document or information that you need?
Leading life sciences companies, including Amgen and Genentech, use the Google Search Appliance to search across multiple content sources in order to improve business processes like compliance, research and development, marketing, and more.
In our webinar, Google's Head of Search, Rob Cocks, and Perficient’s Google Practice Director, Chad Johnson, discussed why and how life sciences companies can leverage the Google Search Appliance to save time, money, and eliminate frustration.
Topics included:
-Overview of the Google Search Appliance
-Use cases for life sciences companies

Actionable Data: Mastering the Hybrid Analytics MixPerficient, Inc.
With an increase in the adoption of cloud applications, most organizations today are in some form of hybrid state (i.e. using a combination of on-premise and cloud applications to run their business). Regardless of where the data resides, you need a complete view of the company spanning across different parts of the business, combining insightful data across both onsite and public cloud instances.
In this webinar, we looked at multiple approaches that organizations have successfully used to consolidate data from multiple cloud and on-premise applications and to perform seamless analytics across these varied data sources.
Two web analytics case studies presented to the Cincinnati Marketing Association B2B group. One case study looked at a retail/e-commerce site, defined the objective, identified the KPI\'s used in the methodology and showed results.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
