HR search is critical to a company's success because it ensures the correct people are in place. HR search integrates workforce capabilities with company goals by painstakingly identifying, screening, and employing qualified candidates, supporting innovation, productivity, and growth. Efficient talent acquisition improves teamwork while encouraging collaboration. Also, it reduces turnover, saves money, and ensures consistency. Furthermore, HR search discovers and develops leadership potential, resulting in a strong pipeline of future leaders. Finally, this strategic approach to recruitment enables businesses to respond to market changes, beat competitors, and achieve long-term success.

leader. Learning through mistakes, trials & tribulations and
all hurdles professional life puts in front of you these issues
emerged as key ones: if you want to be a proficient leader
that u have t have the ability to motivate yourself and
others, use effective oral and written communication all the
time – let your message be loud & clear, real critical
thinking skills need to be employed, sufficient and
adaptable problem solving ability, and skills at working

14. How do you diversify your organization's services to
entice the target audience?
As an international research Centre, focusing on the relation
between urban form and human behavior with a focus on
public spaces, the audience is very much academic but also
practitioners, policy makers and the civil society or general
public. The Centre works on a few levels where the
research findings are geared for a pathfinding way into
policy and also passing through practice. The most
important things are the highest quality outputs in research,
publications, media events and societal relevance as well as
links to higher, graduate and post graduate education. The
pillars that the host institution of KTH has, those of
sustainability, equality and internationalization are deeply
embedded into the fabric of the everyday ad strategic
activities of the Centre. With a strong physical and virtual
staff with highest competences in the area, we believe that
through the four themes of sustainable urbanism, housing
and urban spaces, urban form and human behavior and
urban transformations projects and research findings of high
quality can and are emerging, to which our annual report
2016/2017 and the 2018 but foremostly 2019 are
testimonies and the 11 awards the Centre has already
received from its four-year work.
What roadblocks or challenges were faced by you in a
corporate business? And how did you overcome them?
What advice can you give t0 future business leaders,
directors and CEO’s?
One of the hurdles is surely the environment one is at, the
micro, meso and macro. Micro being the immediate one
with all the challenges of competences, staff, tasks,
immediate decisions, administration and leadership as well
as conflicts; the meso being the plane of projects and
partnerships and cases on the ground and the cities where
the work is being done but also the products, the media,
networks etc. and finally the macro with all the challenges
and competition and major issues on the regional national
and global level that influence the work and strategy of the
place where one works. Roadblocks will be many from
personal choices, communication, decisions and project and
program work that brings many knowables but also many
unknowables. The key thing is a tight organization with
good leadership and delegation of responsibilities where the
chemistry functions and all are onboard towards a common
goal and where mutual benefit must prevail, nit individual
gain and vanity.
Is your company bringing a bigger change in various
sectors? If yes, then how?
In the next two years the focus will be on the critical issue
of rising smart and new experimental cities and issue of
autonomous mobility but still having the first 3-year theme
of cities for all and who owns the city in the backdrop. The
main issue is that cities are getting more complex and the
challenges are rising on a daily basis with multiple
converging crises that seek answers for new theories, tools
and approaches. The Centre will try to answer these calls as
it goes into the next period. As we look towards the near
future, over the next 12-month period we will develop a
new biennial research theme that will focus on Livable,
Viable and Intelligent Smart Cities and Public Realm
Futures. This will further expand our research program
within the four thematic groups/tiers i.e. continue or
complete all projects under our four core research strands
but especially strengthen the international ties and
upcoming work with UCL Bartlett in London and LCAU at
MIT in Boston. We continue to develop the cooperation
with UN Habitat and our other university partners such as
TU Wien and ETH Zürich. Strengthening the ties between
research and practice by supporting researchers to
cooperate and to practically implement their research
results is a central aspect of what we need to do in the
coming two years.

16. How do you maintain a balance between your
professional & personal life?
Maintaining a strong work-life balance is critical to a
healthier work and home life for CEOs. Different studies
show that ca 71 percent of CEOs get over six hours of sleep
at night, and 60 percent exercise multiple times a week.
Stress is a factor that needs to be eliminated or at least
balanced. Networking, giving presentations, speaking at
events and managing an incredibly busy work day are all
part of this job and that is entangled in stress. Meditation,
Ambient Music, Good Wine, Reading Books, Using the
free-flowing imagination, enjoying good hobbies, mother
earths nature and good companionship as building social
capital outside work is crucial to combat loneliness and
stress. Unfortunately, there is no cookie cut solution and
this is a never-ending struggle to find work-life balance and
one has to do the best she/he can.
How do you sustain your creative leadership spirit in
this crucial time and trying time of COVID-19?
With extreme pressure on physical and mental health,
leaders need to tap into their own emotional intelligence to
make sure their teams come out of the pandemic stronger.
University and college campuses such as KTH and MIT are
places where students study, socialize and live in close
proximity to each other. They are also the nexus for social
and cultural hubs where students are brought together from
all corners of the world and where social and human capital
is produced. Due to the rapid spread of the coronavirus and

17. to adapt to teaching, researching and networking online and
most importantly, to do everything they can to protect the
lives of their students and faculty. Maximizing online
learning and teaching, developing robust but flexible
systems, gathering information and applying the best
practices have been some of the hallmarks of this difficult
period, as well as great collegial and comradeship
throughout. The higher education sector has withstood
pandemics and turbulent economic times in the past and it
will withstand them again, preparing to be adaptable,
resilient and sustainable in the long run. In a network
society, city of bits and the new digital age, universities are
better placed, more than ever, to provide students with an
easily accessible online version of their courses. We have to
learn and adapt, and we also need to prepare for the tougher
challenges ahead of us, as unfortunately there will be many
more of these to come.
What are your future endeavors/objectives and where
do you see yourself in the near future?
My motto in life is 5Ps: Passion, Perseverance,
Professionalism, Persuasion and Playfulness. I see myself
as a combination of different “city of bits”, persons of bits:
Walter Mitty, Peter Pan, George Clooney, Richard Florida,
Steve Jobs, Martin Luther King, Mother Theresa and Oprah
Winfrey. I like to take on the challenges every now and
then; likewise, I am currently handling four jobs at once:
directing a Centre, directing a master’s program, working as
a researcher and teacher and mentor and all the rest that
goes into the tenure track at the university. I see this as
continuing and growing more. Working with post doc
colleagues is something I want to do more. However, it's
also true that I see forward and thrives in new multitasking
challenges where u simply need to bring elements of
improvisation, fast decisions and innovation into it. 8 years
of teaching project and strategic management and
leadership has helped me quite a lot. I see many more
awesome projects and events happening, books being
written and ideas developed in groups and individually.
After the center I am looking forward to forming and
leading perhaps a second research lab in my career, A City
Research Lab. “Cities are an amazing place with limitless
opportunities, problems, challenges and source of ideas.
Also, as my friend George Clooney would say: What else?
What else indeed: this is the best job in the world.”

Finternet to the ability to
instantly get in touch with
almost anyone anywhere in the world
by dialling just a few digits, the
contemporary technology-oriented
world has changed the way we connect
and communicate. With smart devices,
people have also become smarter.
Though the processes of connecting
have become simpler, there is a need
for effective communication and
service between users, applications,
services, devices and so forth. This is
where network infrastructure comes
into the picture.
Let’s consider the current situation.
COVID-19 has compelled IT busi-
nesses to close their workplace and
made their employees work remotely.
As employees working from a different
location on enterprise networks
consists of traffic and thus, centralizing
traffic could have been a challenge for
business. To address this challenge,
there arises a need for a suitable
network infrastructure.
Along with the employee’s perfor-
mance and excellent equipment, the
agility and productivity of organiza-
tions also depend on the robust and
secured network infrastructure. In
today’s digital age, businesses cannot
afford to have poor user experience and
security issues that can impact
employee productivity and thus, are
realizing the importance of adopting
comprehensive network infrastructure.
With sound networking solutions,
businesses can ensure optimum
efficiency and excellence in their
operations.
Even though enterprises have under-
stood the importance of network
infrastructure, choosing the right
networking services partner is another
challenge. Businesses are in search of
partners with integrated networking
solutions and a team that possesses the
required skill-set and industry rich
expertise. They are on the lookout for a
solution provider which they can trust
and rely on.
Taking this need into consideration,
many networking solution providers
have come forward with cutting edge
solutions and are ensuring the smooth
running of the enterprises without any
performance issue. The changes start
with migration to 5G technology. It is
built to increase the network speed and
reduce latency. It will assist in the
mobilization of employees allowing
them to work from any part of the
world.
Next up is harnessing the prowess of
Artificial Intelligence(AI) and Machine
Learning(ML) in solving business
problems in real-time. Right from
hiring the most suitable candidate to
process transformation and enriching
customer experience, AI and ML can
deliver solutions to help business
flourish.
Cloud Solutions are seen as the way
forward to maintain business continu-
ity and resilience and are being proven
effective in today’s crisis. It has helped
teams stay connected over work and
seamlessly deliver services proving
that physical distances can’t dampen
the innovative spirits. Digital experi-
ences supported by Cloud have found
new takers during the pandemic and
the technology is poised for steady
growth.
With so much dependence on net-
works, it is bound to grow complex. To
reduce and manage its complexity and
shift creation of network rules and its
maintenance, Intent-based networking
is one solution to look-out for. The idea
is to put a network control-
ler(deploying AI/ML) that can
regularly monitor the network, suggest
best paths and continuously adjust the
network performance for maximum
output.
And while we are at it, how can we not
mention Internet of Things(IoT). From
empowering manufacturing, providing
enhanced tracking to logistics, to
helping the healthcare sector in remote
monitoring and more, IoT is redefining
the way industries work and behave.
As connectivity grows, so does IoT’s
application.
Networking is evolving and with each
new step that it takes, it presents a new
opportunity for businesses to digitally
transform and scale their services.

29. The pandemic has been a toughest test of
character and willpower for every human being
around the world. In the context of business
practices, CEOs have had to deal with extraordinary
difficulties as the pandemic has been an ultimate
leadership test. “Leadership does not have an end state
of proficiency, it’s an evolution and journey that is never
complete as it adapts to the changing demands of the
time,” says Ian Charles Dench. He is the Chief
Executive Officer at Ooredoo Oman and has over 25
years of extensive experience in leading
telecommunication companies across Europe, Asia &
Middle East. Ian asserts “I draw my inspiration from
those experiences, situations, conversations and
feedback; both good and bad.”
To learn more about Ian Charles Dench’s journey, let us
take a peek into the below interview conducted between
Insights Success and Ian Charles Dench:
Kindly take us through your journey on becoming a
proficient leader.
I started out at a very young age (16) with no great plan
other than to get a job. I was fortunate to join a great
organisation, British Telecom, as an Apprentice
Engineer. BT had a tremendous training programme and
approach to people development through all stages of
their career. This environment allowed me to transition
over the preceding years from and entry level position of
Technical Apprentice to Senior Management. More
importantly, across multiple disciplines from Technology
to Commercial from Customer Services to Sales to
Marketing to Mergers and Acquisitions, from operations
to strategy, and from Domestic to International
operations. From fixed to mobile from BT to O2.
I was working in Singapore at the time for a subsidiary
of O2 called Genie (and Mobile ASP and Handset
business) – I moved to Batelco Bahrain as GM Sales and
Marketing. The Batelco CEO was looking for someone
to prepare the company for upcoming deregulation and
introduction of competition. I’ve always been drawn to
new and unusual challenges and this felt like an
opportunity not to be missed drawing on all of my
experience to date.
That in turn led to my next move and a position with
Qatar Telecom which is now known as Ooredoo. Again,
it was ahead of market deregulation and the introduction
of competition.
It’s a journey spanning several companies and many
countries; a journey of good fortune and long hours.
However, it is the people I’ve met along the way that
have shaped and influenced me to do better and achieve
more and each has left their mark on my own leadership
style and approach. Particularly in those early years, it
opened my eyes to new horizons and motivated me to
take on bigger and bigger challenges.
How do you diversify your organization’s offerings to
entice the target audience?
We segment our business in multiple ways depending on
the commercial objective. We have fixed and mobile
services for Home and Mobile users we have Consumer
and Business products and within these two broad
categories; we segment further into nationality or
business type – small business, for example. Further, still
we communicate in multiple languages: Arabic, English,
Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali, etc. For each segment we
develop product and service packages to suit their
specific requirements, budgets, spending patterns, travel
patterns, and we communicate with them in unique ways
for each segment in their language. This is the essence of
great marketing tailoring the right commercial
proposition for the right customers and communicating
in the right way at the right time and place. That
increasingly means social media and digital channels,
and over the last two years our focus has shifted to
digital sales channels, digital communications and social
media, alongside App and online based customer
support. Here even greater degrees of personalisation
and targeting are possible and are an ongoing focus of
our marketing efforts.
What have you learned about leadership,
entrepreneurship and mentoring others?
I remember a nice quote about focussing on the goal, not
the problem. Far too many leaders are consumed with
hurdles and problems. The most successful leaders and
entrepreneurs focus on the goal and its achievement.

30. Moreover, if the goal becomes unrealistic they
redefine the goal and, importantly, keep moving
forward. This kind of resilience, perseverance and
agility are crucial elements of leadership today.
How do you achieve work-life balance?
Make the time and also make commitments. It’s
important to set goals and write them down. You will
only achieve around half of those that you list, but it
gives you a target to aim for and keeps you on track
when it comes to balancing your life. Don’t be
disappointed by the 50%.
How do you cope with capricious technological
trends to boost your personal growth?
I try to read or, if I’m honest, increasingly watch
YouTube or listen to podcasts and immerse myself in
new trends and technologies and then introduce, or
even push, the technology into a work or my personal
sphere. Keeping up with what is going on helps you
to stay ahead of changing customer needs from a
work perspective, as well as keeping you socially
connected and relevant.
What are your future endeavours/objectives and
where do you see yourself in the near future?
Staying healthy! Travelling. Hanging out with my
family and friends somewhere nice and enjoying nice
food. I enjoy the outdoor life here in Oman and my
strolls around the golf course, as well as running and
use of my home gym, has expanded considerably
during COVID.
What advice would you like to give to emerging
business leaders?
Listen and learn from others and don’t be afraid to
throw yourself in at the deep end (says someone who
hates throwing themselves in at the deep end)!
Confront your fears do not dwell on, but learn from,
mistakes.
Taking the road less travelled, in my experience at
least, leads to better outcomes and greater personal
satisfaction!

33. hen we speak of supply chain management,
Wwhat is the first thing that comes to mind?
What is supply chain management? Well, to
put it simply, supply chain management is part of
processing that arises from managing various functions
associated with the same. This often includes lowering
the costs, budgeting, problem solving, and other issues
withing the company.
Managing a supply chain in the heart of any
organization and without the lifeline, the
manufacturing and the delivery of a product would
seem impossible. There are various advantages
associated with SCM, such as Collaboration.
Collaboration has always been a challenge for
companies. According to a source, 76% of the
companies lack any sort of automated flow of
information. These companies could use the improved
access to data to be able to make informed decisions.
Supply chain management has introduced improved
quality control. This simply means that companies
wanting to improvise their mechanism and functions,
need to implement quality.
When the above-mentioned point comes to play, it is
but obvious that the efficiency rate would increase. The
manufacturing and the quality improve with availability
of raw materials. This technique often guarantees a
high productivity rate and a high grade of automation
solutions. The major benefit of this process is that there
will no more be any delays in the process.
Along with the above-mentioned benefits there is also
increase in cloud-based computing and the
maintenance of procured sophisticated IT
infrastructure. This type of sorting associates with a
healthy flow of updates and upgrades are also available
in real time. Technology is constantly advancing and
more and more such helpful additions have been
implemented.
Data analytics has also become the grand talk in the
world of supply chain management and the installed
software systems have become outdated. The newer
upgraded models have been taking their place and this
has become a practice in most of the company units.
This allows for the proper information to be passed
onto the appropriate sources.
Such stabilization also involves effective financial
practices for the involved organization and allows for
increase in cash flow as this affects the business overall.
This sort of an overall system encourages businesses to
flourish and take into account the nooks and crannies
that go into building a business up from gravels.

Application-based threats: Privacy, information security,
and data security are inseparable, dependent on each other,
as well as, complimentary.
Web-application threats occur when the application
resembles an authentic application, but it is a disguise and
has the ability to skim your precious information.
The prime examples include malware and spyware where
your personal information is at stake.
Web-based threats: As subtle in nature, these web-based
threats remain unnoticed because visitors visit malicious
websites that are better from their front-end but in reality,
they are skimming your information by downloading
malicious content on your device.
Physical threats: This occurs when you lose your mobile
phone or if it has been stolen. This is a strong case for
hackers to loop into your personal information via your
device (as they have direct access to the hardware where all
your personal information is resting).
Network-based threats: This is where cybercriminals are
actively looking to encrypt your data with the use of public
Wi-Fi networks.
The advanced mobile threats comprises of:
a. Phishing attacks;
b. Data leakage;
c. Unsecure Wi-Fi (particularly public Wi-Fi) connection;
d. Sim Swap
Phishing attacks: A phishing attack is an online theft attack
that gains your personal information such as username,
password, and even your financial information. Phishing
education is mandatory to mitigate the risk of this threat to
an acceptable level. It is incumbent to learn that phishing is
different from conventional scams. The thwarting ways
would differ depending on the level of fraud committed and
who is the victim (corporation or individuals).

44. For corporations it would be:
1. Design policies in place and the communication should
be strong,
2. There should be a control designed to ensure the
legitimacy of an email and it should be communicated to
loyal customers (as well as others),
3. Scan the internet for likely phishing sites,
4. Implement a quality anti-virus, anti-spam, and content
filtering at the gateway.
For individuals it is simple:
1. Block malicious or fraudulent email promptly,
2. Detect and delete malicious software immediately,
3. Block the sensitive information delivery to third parties
automatically,
4. Apply skepticism wherever necessary.
Data Leakage: Data leakage occurs where there is a
compromise in the (information) confidentiality breach.
This refers to an unauthorized leakage or possible data
transmission within an organization to a third party. The lost
data is either private, sensitive, or confidential in nature.
The data could be lost due to a system crash or even a
deliberate deletion.
Ÿ Safeguards-
1. Quarantine your outgoing information (which is private,
sensitive, or either confidential in nature) from your
organization network.
2. Archive suspicious files.
3. Quarantine sensitive files to be copied into USB or
smartphones.
4. Block print jobs that contain private information.
5. Discover confidential information that is stored on
databases, organizational laptops, and workstations.
Unsecured Public Wi-Fi: Public Wi-Fi networks offer
potential privacy risks and invite security issues. People are
tempted to pursue public WiFi which is controlled by a
hacker. It invigorates the MITM attack.
Ÿ Safeguards –
1. The network should be verified. Hackers are smart but
users are smarter, it is better to play smart.
2. Using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) which is the most
secure surfing option on public networks.
3. Use Antivirus and keep the Firewall Enabled.
Sim Swap: A fraudster beautifully impersonates you and
manages to get victims Sim deactivated. There is a
replacement activation without the knowledge of the victim
(Marimuthu, V., 2019).
This is a surplus for hackers where they can reset victims'
online accounts. EFANI was designed to mitigate such
happenings with a 100% money-back guarantee for 60-
days.
Ÿ Safeguards –
1. Beware of phishing - as it penetrates sim swapping
incidents. These sketchy emails and bogus logins can get
the hacker the required information and these key data can
spawn a sim swap occurrence.
2. People should rely less on online space, they should
reduce the personal information to be stored online. Social
engineering is an initial sim swapping stage, where the
hacker collects as much information as they want. Keep
compromising information low-key such as your digits,
date of birth, mailing address off your account.
3. Protect your accounts or crypto space using Yubikey,
frequently changing the PIN, multi-factor authentication.
Please do not trust SMS-based 2FA.
