THESE  NOTES ARE EXPOSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF POSTING THIS SLIDSHOW ONLINE:  Why online learning? Prepares our students  for higher education. Preparing students is part of so many of our schools  mission statements. Stats say that 96% of today’s college students will be taking at least one online class. Moodle is commonly used throughout the college community.  Improve what we do: Online learning is a clear indication that there are new tools that can take students to higher levels than ever before.  Dynamic content rather than static content. For example: paper versus digital content. Now: Students read/write essays ..well, how about being able to connect or hyperlink  to a topic with a video, slideshow, website or even a podcast.  Old way:  students may see a lesson in a classroom just one time. With Moodle, it is available anytime, anywhere. Students can see  it often

Introducing......  Moodle !  Moodle is an alternative to commercial online learning solutions such as Blackboard, and is distributed  free  under open source licensing.  Moodle’s modular design makes it easy to create new courses, adding content that will engage learners. Moodle’s intuitive interface makes it easy for instructors to create courses.  Students require only basic browser skills to begin learning.  M odular  O bject O riented  D ynamic  L earning   E nvironment
I made it very clear that I was new to this and asked my students for patience and told them I would also have patience with them as we all began our online course.
