They are commonly used in interior design to showcase potential concepts for renovations or new decor by providing homeowners with a simplified visual guide of fabrics, paint colors and other elements. While quick and easy to envision, mood boards can lack detail and may not appeal to all who prefer written descriptions over visual representations.

 This is an arrangement of images, materials, pieces of text, etc. intended to evoke
or project a particular style or concept. ( Google definition)
 Used for Interior Design, where fabric swatches and paint chip samples are
grouped together on a poster to show a homeowner what type of atmosphere the
new decor will create.

 Quick
 Simplistic
 A good way of getting all your ideas onto one area.
 Visual guide, easy to picture.
 No blank-canvas syndrome to deal with
 No feeling that you are wasting your time on a concept they might not like.

4. Drawbacks
 Not very detailed.
 Some people do not like visual representations and prefer reading.
