Nisa 4: 34. Men are the protectors and maintainers of women,
because Allah has made one of them to excel the other, and
because they spend (to support them) from their means.

Hujuraat 49: 12. O you who believe! Avoid suspicion,
indeed some suspicions are sins. And don’t spy, neither
backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the
flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate
backbiting) . And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is the One Who
accepts repentance, Most Merciful.
