This document presents a molecular orbital diagram for an ML6 complex, where M is a metal atom and L are six ligand atoms. The diagram shows the atomic orbitals of the metal interacting with the ligand orbitals to form molecular orbitals. The molecular orbitals are grouped as bonding, non-bonding, and antibonding. The diagram lacks π interactions between the ligands and metal and seeks to illustrate the interactions between just the s and p atomic orbitals.
