initiated an above-
ground enclosure that
can compost all kinds
of bio-degradable
waste without
shredding.
is a dangerous
gas that destroys the ozone layer and can
cause great damage to people when
improperly managed.
It has the biggest share contributing
to climate change.
For the last 27 years, the 220
hectares Payatas’ Open Dumpsite in
Quezon City has accommodated the
wastes of 26 municipallities of Quezon
and Metro Manila.
Rising to a 50 feet wall of garbage,
it took the lives of more than 300 of its
residents on July 10, 2000.
