The Influence Of The Hubble Telescope
Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure science.
This remark was by Edwin Hubble, the man that the Hubble telescope was named after. The telescope
made many amazing discoveries in the field of astronomy, as well as the man himself did. It was said
that Edwin Hubble revolutionized the field of astrophysics. Biography.com states, His research helped
prove that the universe is expanding and he created a classification system for galaxies that has been
used for several decades. He made many contributions to science, as did the Hubble telescope, and
that is why this invention is one of the greatest in the history of science. Biography.com cites that

It also proves that because of the new things we have found out, we can begin to look even deeper to
uncover more of the unknown about our universe. By the Hubble Telescope getting images of the
Butterfly Nebula, we can truly see how stars are formed. This helps support the theory of the Nebular
Hypothesis because now that we have images of a nebula and how stars form from it, we can prove
that that was the way our star, the Sun, was formed. The discovery of dark matter helps us realize how
much mass there truly is in the universe and can help us determine the future of the universe. Hubble
discovering the age of the universe helps us to date when certain events have occurred and have an
understanding of how long it took for it to form. It has also proved the Big Bang Theory because it
discovered distant galaxies using redshift and shows how the universe came from a small area and
started expanding, which is still continuing today. Overall, Hubble s discoveries have opened up the
door to many more

What Is The Implementation Of MFO To Solve Multi-Area...
In this thesis implementation of MFO to solve multi area economic dispatch problems is presented.
The practical nonlinear generator constrained like VPL and POZ along with tie lines power flow
constraints are also considered in this study. The results obtained by MFO are compared with recently
reported results to validate and to show superior performance for the solution of MAED problems
with different dimensions and complexity levels. It was established that the MFO algorithm provides
good solution in terms of convergence rate and optimum cost with less number of control parameters.
The MFO is found to be a promising approach for real world problems.
Some conclusions can be drawn from the obtained results cost convergence ... Show more content on

The thesis has presented a new procedure for solving the Multi Area Economic Dispatch problem
using MFO algorithm. The procedure is shown to be very fast, robust, and extensible to include a large
class of utility problems.
3.6 SUGGETION FOR FUTURE WORK
The MAED problem is much complex due to the practical operational constraints such as valve point
loading effect(VPL) ,prohibited operating zones (POZ) along with tie line power flow limit
constraints, which make the system highly nonlinear. Therefore it requires a powerful optimization
approach to solve these types of problems.
The project successfully applied MFO for the solution of classical MAED problem with security
consideration and without security consideration. The aims of the project were to introduce renewable
energy to a classical MAED problem and minimize the production costs while taking into
consideration the transmission lines, tie lines and bus voltage constraints. The proposed algorithm was
successfully tested on a five area system. Introduction of security aspects to the classical MAED
problem resulted in an increase in the total production cost of power.
Moth Flame optimization (MFO) Algorithm, is applied for constrained optimization and engineering
design problems. A comparative analysis of MFO algorithm expresses the optimum functional value
in term of accuracy and standard deviation over rest of well known constraint

A1. Utah Symphony Strengths and Weaknesses
The Utah Symphony has been a leading arts organization in the western part of the United States for
decades. They have a rich, long history. Many strengths have contributed to this success and continue
to do today.
Financially, the organization is able to raise money through various means. For the fiscal year 00 01,
the symphony was able to raise $3.8 million through performance revenues, $3.1 million through
government grants, and $4.5 million through fundraising. With another $1 million coming from

With his position assured, Ewers and Lockhart needs to go over the financials of both organizations
and what they will look like for the new organization. It should become clear to Lockhart that the
musicians collective bargaining agreement will need to be renegotiated. Because of his relationship
with the musicians, Lockhart should be able to convince them that there is no alternative to
negotiating a new contract if the new organizations is to get off its feet.
Anne also needs to convince the musicians of her commitment to the arts and her ability to lead such a
prestigious organization and to do so, she will need to highlight her past accomplishments. Anne has
had enormous success in directing operas, including serving as stage director for over 60 opera
productions world wide, including the adored San Francisco Opera. In addition, she had stints as
assistant director at the San Francisco Opera and the Canadian Opera. She also sought to increase the
amount of productions during her time at the Boston Lyrics Opera instead of decreasing them to help
retire the debt there. This should convince the musicians not only of Anne s ability to lead them but
also of her desire to build an elite arts

Mrs. Dalloway And Septimus Smith
In Mrs. Dalloway Clarissa and Septimus smith have various similarities. Clarissa eventually triumphs
over her issues/depression in her life unlike Septimus that eventually loses and commits suicide. Mrs.
Dalloway an upper class 50 year old British wife the central character of the novel, struggles
constantly to balance her thoughts and world. Her world consists of a fabulous lifestyle such as fine
fashion, parties, and aristocratic society, but as she the novel goes on she looks beneath the glamour of
her life and searches for a deeper meaning. Looking for privacy, Clarissa has a tendency toward
introspection that gives her a capacity for emotion. She is always concerned with appearances around
other people and no matter the pressure she keeps herself composed. She uses a lot of useless talking
and activity to keep her ideas and emotions safe and locked away, which can make her seem shallow
even to those who know her well.
A character similar to Mrs. Dalloway Septimus Smith, Septimus was a World War I soldier. He s a
significant person in the novel because he was one of the first characters to show the horrors of the
war. Still shocked and suffering from post traumatic stress disorder due to the war. Virginia Woolf
doesn t depict Septimus as a hero, but as a sufferer or survivor. Septimus is plagued by feelings of
numbness, has serious hallucinations of his dead friend Evans. He changed so much from the war: he

addictive drug made from the seed pods of the opium poppy plant. Heroin is so harmful to your body
and it has been a highly sought for and used drug for about 150 200 years. This drug is addictive,
dangerous, and extremely deadly drug. Heroin affects the body in very bad ways creating several
sensations that include: heavy limbs, a rush of warmth(this is because when it enters the brain it is
converted into morphine), drowsiness, a dry mouth, etc. The short term effects are bad but the long

Cancer Vs Immmunotherapy For Cancer
Immunotherapy for cancer treatment has had tremendous growth recently with increased awareness
and knowledge of the immune system and potential means to manipulate it for therapeutic intent.
Progress in the treatment of viral infections including CMV, EBV, HHV 6, utilization of immune
checkpoint blockade for melanoma, non small cell lung cancer, and Hodgkin Lymphoma, as well as
rapid emergence of genetically modified T cells against CD19+ B cells have contributed to the growth
in this area.Antibody targeted therapy has now become standard of care for many malignancies, and
the multi domain utilization of antigen specific adoptive T cell therapy has shown great promises. 4

The key role of NK cells in various aspects of immune response are now being recognized and have
been attracting increased attention for their potential clinical efficacy via immune based therapies. As
their name implies, this unique member of the innate immune system can recognize targets without
being previously sensitized and thus kill cells that are deemed dangerous to the host. This is
particularly important when evaluating biologic studies of NK cells and factors that influence NK cell
effect in cancer immune surveillance, viral immunity, and transplantation alloreactivity. In this
chapter, we will review NK cell biology, discuss their role in the alloHSCT setting, and review new
advances in incorporating NK cells as therapeutic options for malignancies. Large granular
lymphocytes (LGL) can be divided broadly into two major lineages mainly T cells and natural killer
(NK) cells. While mature cells NK cells are morphologically identified as LGL, nearly a decade after
their initial discovery, NK cells were characterized as lymphocytes having an immuno phenotype that
lacked expression of CD3 but expressed CD56+. This characterization thereby differentiated them
from T cells having CD3+ expression and thus NK cells do not express the CD3/T cell receptor (TCR)
complex or experience TCR gene rearrangement. NK cells can be further divided into two distinct

Northwood’s Park Middle School in Jacksonville
Ok so the beginning of my eight grade year at Northwood s Park Middle in Jacksonville. The student
board got the whole class together for a trip to Kings Dominion in Deswell, Virginia. We did a bunch
of fundraisers because aint nobody have the money like hat. But anyway we had just got a new
principle and she wanted everybody to bond so we planned this trip. I remember seeing the big busses
you know with the TV s and bathroom. It was off the chain; that was the first time any of us was about
to ride in one and everybody was ready. Before leaving Jacksonville we stopped to Wal Mart so
everybody could rack up on what they wanted so we wouldn t have to stop but for gas or something.

I knew at that moment I was going to die and there would nothing me or anybody else could do. After
all I was strapped down like my life depended on it and now I know why. God why did I let my
friends convince me to go on a ride they had just built. We were all most to the very top and I was on
the 1st row. My life started flashing before my eyes and I looked to my friends and told them that I
loved them and sorry for beating some of them up. And that if I didn t make it to tell my mom s I
loved her too. All they did was laugh but I was dead serious I don t want to die like that you know.
Here we go the clicking stopped and we were about to go down at a 90 degree angle; I m looking at
death straight in the face. The man on the intercom says we should all should stretch our arms out like
were flying. I think I was probably the only one on the stupid ride that didn t have their arms out. No
mine were locked on my little hand bar; my hands started hurting I was holding it so tight. Down we
go and I swear I was cussing in Swahili, English, pig Latin all that. We went into all types of swirls,
back up, went up then did a batman turn and it put us on our back and we were looking at the sky. I
hated it so much but that wasn t nothing compared to what I was about to go through. We were just
cruising but something to me to look up ahead. There was this tunnel and then it takes you under

leading and managing changes Essay
1.0 Introduction
1.1 Background
The David Jones is iconic department store in Australian retail industry, but the net profit of David
Jones has been decreasing because of the rapid retail environmental changes, unhealthy cultures, and
global online attack. The problems of declining net profit in David Jones are creating make it essential
to apply the most suitable change management for company.
1.2 Aim The aim of this report is not only applying the change management theory, model, and style
for David Jones and David Jones CEO, Paul Zahra, but also supporting the arguments through case
studies in order to find practical solution.

it is supported by case studies that the linkage between inability of identifying of retail environmental
changes and Zahra s new rescue plan for David Jones failed because after the new rescue plan of
Zahra, net profit and share price continued to decrease. Moreover, the case study said that it may be a
good five years before strategy can be assessed properly (Waddell Waddell, Cummings Worley 2014).
On the other hand, Lewin s change model or action research model is not suitable for David Jones
case because of focusing on more problems in the organisation than concentrating on retail
environmental changes. The result of implementation of Lewin s change model or action research
model would be led to the strategic failure. The possibility of positive model of planned change for
David Jones makes it necessary for the company to use positive model.
3. THE CURRENT RESTRUCTURE OF DAVID JONES
3.1 Current business restructure analysis
Even though this report agrees with the current restructure and rescue plan of David Jones, which
were divided main three parts including eleven subparts that are renovating store policies, focusing its
core strengths, and transferring from traditional business to technologically oriented business, I want
to add two main parts that are sustainable training and focused marketing strategy.

communist agrarian utopia. Pol Pot set his eyes on first overthrowing the current government. Once he
took the capital of Cambodia the group began forcing victims to go on long marches to get to different
parts of the country. The Khmer Rouge also began killing those they thought were intellectuals, for
example, doctors, teachers, lawyers, and other educated people they thought of intellectuals were
immediately killed. (wikipedia) The Khmer Rouge also discriminated against certain ethnicities. Three
different groups of people were discriminated against, the Vietnamese, the Chams, and the Chinese.

going on in the scene. Jeff being the audience his emotions are then felt by the true audience who
would feel anxious as well.
The sequence shows a mixture of close up shots, long shots and angled shots. It begins with a close up
of Jeff showing his reaction. It cuts to a long shot of Thorwald s apartment. The camera is at a level
and height as if looking out from Jeff s apartment. The camera has little movement at the beginning of
the scene.
In the, Extreme long shots it is unrestricted to Thorwald since he does not know who is ever at the
door. When the police arrives and rings the doorbell, only Jeff and Stella knows that they are there.
When it becomes known to Thorwald after opening the door, his face is filled with guilt as Jeff looks
at him with his telephoto lens. Thorwald is nervous and looks back at Lisa, who manages to compose
herself. However, the audience only sees what Jeff sees.
The last shot in the sequence at the point 102:02(shot 24), Joe is looking through the telephoto lens
while Stella looks through a pair of binoculars. An iris forms again showing Joe s subjective view.
Lisa and Thorwald are talking to the police officers.

The fisherman describes his thoughts while he observed the fish. He initially saw the fish as an ugly
creature, but he ended up finding it intriguing so he continued to watch it. He observed both the
external features and the physiological features, Finally, the narrator notices the fish s lip, which was
filled with five hooks, including his own. At this point, the fisherman acknowledges what this fish has
been through. Both the fisherman and the reader can realize that this is a brave fish that has given up
with fighting to survive, which is why the fish did not fight unlike the other times, when it got caught
but was brave enough to fight and and escape the previous fishermen. The speaker describes the

animal reaches out to make him think about and compare to the other things in life. One of the
examples the fisherman gave was the boat in which he is sitting in that he rented to fish. The
fisherman realizes that this boat which he had not thought twice about until this point, had been

situation a life changing situation for the fisherman and a lesson to the readers because the fact

Dire Direct Animal Killing Essay
In Moscow, feral dogs have learned how to effectively ride the subway system and will turn and attack
humans that mistake them for a domesticated species. (Macdonald) Older deer seem to have learned
how to cross the street safely, as they look back and forth the entire time they are crossing. However,
this is a learned behavior that cannot be passed genetically onto their offspring, and so younger deer

One Should Never Give Up In The Caged Bird Poem Analysis
One should never give up when faced with difficulties. When faced with a challenge, the way one
reacts shows strength or weaknesses, and can close or open doors for them. In all 5 texts the author
shows some way that the character either gives up or faces their challenge. When one works hard they
are rewarded, but when one gives up when faced with a challenge they are punished.
When one gives up, or acts hopeless, he shows how he has no determination or work ethic. In the
Escalator and Calvin Situation, they gave up when faced with a challenge. In the Stuck on an
Escalator, the people just sat there complaining, looking hopeless and weak, when they could ve just
walked up the escalator. In the Calvin at school comic, he has so many high expectations for himself
but when when told that a pleasant future and getting paid well required hard work and dedication in
school, he gave up before he even tried. So how would one know his full potential when he doesn t
want to put even a little effort in to reach his goal. In the Caged Bird poem, both birds show signs of
failure in life. The free bird has had many opportunities given to him, so he has no sense of hard work
or what challenge really is, so when eventually he has arrived on a difficult time he is going to
struggle and might not have the strength to keep going. The Caged bird has had a rough time, because
he is going through the hardship that the free bird knows has never experienced, so he lets anger and

Examples Of A Moral Theory
A moral theory has an explanation of what makes an action correct. Great example is the right to own
property. On the other hand a moral code are rules to live by. For instance, the ten commandments
stated by the Catholic Church. Needless to say, these are both examples of codes and theory I was
raised to believe in. Nature human beings obviously need natural resources in order to survive.
(Edward Feser) In this article, Edward made a connection with how owning property should be a
natural law for human beings, to better society. For instance, without the right to own property there is
no incentive to create property; and if there s no incentive then how can society advance? In all
owning property can benefit everyone in advancing in wealth, status, and education. This is why many
people including myself have lived by this theory. I was taught at a young age that owning property
was our right for a successful future. In fact, my parents have lived by this philosophy and ended with
successful stakes that have been used on their retirement. Through adopting this theory they moved
their class status to middle class. In doing so, they have better opportunities and earned a higher
income. Meanwhile, Im adopting this theory which has proven factual in my families life. I have

For example, Catholicism has always encouraged to follow the Ten Commandments. These
commandments state general rules that help someone stay in the right path. As a child I did what I was
told and followed these by heart. Now as an adult and a parent it is very difficult to do so. I believe in
questioning theories, rules, statements, etc. So as an adult it s hard to believe these commandments
and follow them because a religion tells me to do so. I prefer dissecting each one and following the
ones that I have reasoned to believe can turn me into a positive

What Role Does Personification Play In The Dream Of The Rood
The Dream of the Rood is has many literary techniques that are used throughout the piece. Jesus is an
illusion to Beowulf, a mythical conqueror during the early middle ages, in a way that he is described
as a warrior who is eager, and intending to redeem mankind. Elaine Treharne de emphasized the
beatings that Jesus went through during the time of the crucifixion in order to focus of him
overcoming sin and entering into a victorious state. Personification plays a major role in this poem
through the cross; the cross had to undergo all of the pain and suffering that Jesus Christ went through
in history in order to maintain the warrior persona of Jesus. The timeline that the Dream of the Rood
lays out also plays an important role in the overall

Deep Neck Space Infection Essay
Deep neck space infection (DNSI) means infection in the potential spaces and fascial planes of the
neck, either with abscess formation or cellulitis. Before the antibiotic era, infections of the deep fascial
spaces of the head and neck were fairly common and were a source of considerable morbidity and
mortality. The advent of antibiotics has reduced the overall number of deep neck space infections but
the same still occur in the general population, with a definite potential for significant morbidity, and
even mortality, with improper or delayed treatment. DNSI are found more commonly in individuals of
specific groups such as, immunocompromised individuals recovering from organ transplants or
chemotherapy, or those with acquired immunodeficiency ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Treatment of DNSI includes antibiotic therapy, airway management and surgical intervention.
Management of DNSI is traditionally based on prompt surgical drainage of the abscess followed by
antibiotics or nonsurgical treatment using appropriate antibiotics in the case of cellulitis. The advent of
modern imaging techniques has made it possible to diagnose these complications earlier and to
localize them exactly. Proper diagnosis and prompt management can effectively overcome the disease
and provide a cure without complications. The main aim of our study was to share our experience in
terms of presentation, clinical trends, common sites involved, bacteriology, management,
complications, and outcomes. The study also emphasizes the importance

Vatican s Elephants
On February of 1962 a group of Italian workers were digging up the Vatican s Belvedere Courtyard so

Issues By Julia Michaels
The first song I am introducing on my soundtrack is Issues by Julia Michaels. Throughout Hannah s
life she had many issues she needed to overcome. During all the events Hannah was going through,
she needed to have a real friend that she could vent to, but she did not have anyone to go to. Hannah
only had one real friend named Kat, but she moved away the summer before the freshman year of high
school. Hannah genuinely thought her best friend for life would be Jessica, but that quickly changed
within a few weeks of school. When Jessica slapped/scratched Hannah, it was pretty clear that their
friendship was over, but if they had resolved that issue and continue being friends, could Hannah still
be alive? Hannah needed a friend to talk about Tyler, Justin, Bryce and many more, but she never got
that. Two lines that stands out in the lyrics of the song Issues is, Yeah, I got issues... And one of them
is how bad I need you. These lines specifically point out how bad Hannah needed Jessica in their
freshman to junior years. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first four lines talk about how the artist has made up her mind about what she is going to do next.
When Hannah started to plan out how she was going to make the tapes and eventually commit suicide,
she already had her mind set, so she did not need to continue on with her life. Throughout the song,
the lyrics, Should I give up... Or should I just keep chasing pavements?... Even if it leads nowhere...
keep repeating itself over and over again. I think Hannah had deeply thought about living her life and
these lyrics show how she thought about advancing on. Chasing the pavements of the streets are a
perfect example of life going on and on, but depending on which path Hannah took, her life got cut

Atticus Personal Response
I am reading the book, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The recent chapters we have been
reading focus on how to walk in someone else s shoes. In chapter 10, 11, and 12 mostly talks about
how Aunt Alexandra comes and lives with them for a while and how Jem is maturing more. In
chapters 13, 14, and 15 shows that Atticus goes to the jail cell where Tom Robinson is and so Jem,
Dill, and Scout sneak out and go looking for him. They see that a mob of men are coming towards
Atticus and Tim, so Scout runs to him and makes an end to the situation. Who knew a young child
could protect a man from other men. Some personalities that Atticus shows is knowledgeable and
responsible.

Within this story there is plenty of evidence to support this. Atticus is does not just have multiple of
knowledge for vocabulary and reading but he also has great knowledge of kid behavior and to be in
someone else s shoes. As a father of two, he is knowledgeable in many materials. First of all, he
teaches his children how read at a young age, so his kids do not have difficulties in school. He tries to
pass on all of his knowledge to his kids. Another way he has plenty of knowledge is by reading. He is
not a normal father in Maycomb county, who drinks beer and plays football. He would much rather
read than play any active sport. One way to show this from the book is He did not do the things our
schoolmates fathers did: he never went hunting, he did not play poker or fish or drink or smoke (Lee
119). This shows that Mr. Finch prefers not to do the crazy stuff other fathers did. He prefers to relax,
read a book, and talk to his kids daily. The final way he demonstrates his knowledge is by taking the
Tom Robinson s case. He knows that he will not win but he is doing it for himself. Atticus tells, The
only thing we ve got is a black man s word against the Ewell . The evidence boils down to you did I
didn t (Lee 117). This describes that even though he know he is not going to win the case, he is going
to try his best, so that is great knowledge of dedication. Not only is Atticus knowledgeable, he is also
responsible. One way he shows responsibility is by teaching his kids to show manner to
people...especially old ones. When Jem got furious at Ms. Dubose and cut her camellia bushes, Atticus
took it into his own hands and made Jem apologize to her. A way he punished Jem is by reading to her
for an hour everyday for a month. Another way he shows responsibility is by asking his sister to come
and take help him take care of Jem and Scout. In the book it shows that, We decided that

The Role Of Reverend Parris As A Minister
Being a Minister is a very important job, especially in the Salem area at that particular time. Reverend
Parris has little concern, if any for the spiritual welfare of his people. It is pointed out that he barley
mentions the Lord s name in his sermons; consequently, some people do not show up to church. This
may support the theory that he is not doing his job as minister. This may also be part of the reason
why the people of Salem do not like him. Reverend Parris is not an effective minister and appears to
only care about his image in Salem and his own well being. The first reason Reverend Parris not an
effective minister is that he seems to have little to no concern for the spiritual well being of the people
of Salem. This is confirmed

The Application Of Machine Learning
In the recent years, machine learning has made very significant leaps in terms of development. It has
undergone a lot of improvement, growth in the industry. Because of its ability to learn and improve
itself and make predictions based on data, its popularity has grown leaps and bounds in the recent
years mainly due to the large scale data processing and managing capacities of machines nowadays.
Many applications of machine learning has come into picture in the recent years.
Machine Learning makes use various learning techniques based on the type of problem at hand or the
data available. One of the most important learning technique is the Supervised Learning technique.
Supervised learning makes use of already available labelled training data to infer a function. The
training data is then used to make generalization for making predictions for the test data by
introducing an inductive bias into it. Supervised learning methodology has been applied fairly
successfully to Bioinformatics, Cheminformatics, Database Marketing, Information Extraction and
Retrieval, Object Recognition in Computer Vision, Spam Detection, Game Playing, Speech
Recognition, etc.
There are many different approaches to supervised learning. Some of these are widely applicable and
others are applicable only to certain specific set of problems. Some of these are Naïve Bayes classifier,
Nearest Neighbor Algorithm, Decision Trees, Support Vector Machines, Gaussian Processes,
Boosting, and Artificial Neural

The Anxiety Of Lithium Chloride Causes Mild Illness
Introduction
Animals can be conditioned to display or not display a variety of behaviors and emotions, including
taste preference. This form of conditioning has even been successfully done in humans by using
rotation induced motion sickness after consuming either a familiar or unfamiliar flavored beverage to
create a distaste for the beverage (especially the unfamiliar flavored one) (Arwas, Rolnick, Lubow,
1989).
A very common way to teach rats to dislike a certain taste is to give them injection(s) of lithium
chloride (LiCl) directly after consuming a taste stimulus. The lithium chloride causes mild illness,
which the rats connect to the taste stimulus, essentially because they believe the food/drink they
consumed caused the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For best results, LiCl should be measured as an absolute quantity, not as a volume or concentration
(Nachman Ashe 1973). These studies (among others) show that LiCl is an effective unconditioned
stimulus for taste aversion when administered in correct dosages.
Though many studies have observed the effects of taste aversion, fewer studies have focused on the
influence of feeding on this conditioned aversion. In essence, conditioning is a form of learning, and
learning requires memory. One study used the pond snail Lymnaea to show that food deprivation
lowers blood glucose levels and levels of insulin circulating; therefore, it decreases the animal s ability
to remember the pairing of taste stimulus and the noxious stimulus (Mita Koichi 2014).
This study manipulates the preference for sucrose by administering lithium chloride (LiCl) to the rats
after consumption of sucrose. The researchers sought to determine whether rats given access to free
feeding would display more or less taste aversion than rats who were deprived of food after the LiCl
injection.
Methods Materials
This study used eight adult male Long Evans rats of average size. Rats were housed separately, each in
his own cage on a nocturnal light dark cycle (lights off at 7:00 AM, lights on at 7:00 PM). Each rat
was given 1 hour of

Similarities Between Kipling And Orwell
Throughout the novel, language and its vitalness in both communication and unification across time
and boundaries has been an underlying theme. In this quote, Orwell alludes to a definitive edition of
the poems of Kipling (Orwell 230). Kipling was a distinguished English writer who dabbled in both
poetry and novels, like The Jungle Book, and with Kipling s background, Orwell and the English
writer had clashing, disagreeing morals and supported different campaigns, like imperialism, with
Orwell even going as far as calling Kipling morally insensitive and aesthetically disgusting (Dag).
Even though Kipling and Orwell had differing views on nearly everything, Orwell still alludes to him
in 1984 to demonstrate that works like those still exist

The Charge of the Light Brigade by Tennyson and The Last...
The Charge of the Light Brigade by Tennyson and The Last of the Light Brigade by Kipling Generally
both the poems are about very similar things. They are both focused on events relating to the Crimean
war. For example The Charge of the Light Brigade is written about an incident in which the soldiers
obeyed a clearly ridiculous order. Whereas The Last of the Light Brigade is focused on an event after
the war which links to the first poem by describing what has now happened to the Light Brigade.
Although both poems are generally about similar things I believe that the authors have written their
individual poems with clearly different messages. In The Charge of the Light Brigade. The ... Show

It shows of how the heroes have been forgotten. Both the authors use similar writing techniques they
both use contrast within their respective poems. In The Charge of the Light Brigade the most obvious
contrast is that of the number of soldiers who went into the battle and the number of soldiers who
came out. I think that the author tries to emphasise the loss of life as he concludes each of the first
three verses with the line Then they rode back but not, Not the six hundred. I think this is the most
obvious internal contrast in the first poem and one that Tennyson has deliberately emphasised to great
effect. Another internal contrast in Tennyson s poem may be the bravery the men showed and the
enormous fear they must of felt although, this may not be true as Tennyson does not mention the fear
but does ask the question Was there a man dismayed? This suggests that there was no fear shown by
the men, yet it may have been bottled up, as most soldiers feel afraid going into battle In which they
may be killed. Kipling also uses contrasts in Last of the Light Brigade . The one contrast that is most

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Research
Research is essential in academic study to allow a person to build on their existing knowledge. There
are numerous routes to research a subject, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. For this
essay I am going to focus on four methods; internet, text books, television and professional journals.
In modern society a common research tool used is the internet, one if its key advantages is its
accessibility. Most people have access to the internet throughout the day and night; at home, on the
move via mobile phones and tablets, education premises, workplace and public libraries, this creates
flexibility and allows people to research information at a time and place convenient to them. Another
strength is the amount of information ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The content in text books is generally accurate and of good quality due to it being well researched
itself and being subject to review and quality checks by the publisher. In addition, the format of a text
book makes it easy to locate the information required and simple to book mark key points for future
use. Another strength is the details necessary for referencing the source are clearly presented. Some
disadvantages of using text books are the physical and financial barriers to accessing them. Copies
available in libraries may be limited and the time needed to visit a library could be restricted by an
individual s personal commitments. To purchase a text book can be expensive and often difficult to
source locally. In addition, written sources can become outdated, e.g. new theories and discoveries
could be made which consequently make the content inaccurate or irrelevant. Television and radio as a
research tool can be a welcome alternative to reading. The benefits being that information displayed in
a visual or audio format can in some instances be understood better than on paper, presented in an
engaging manner making it more interesting and holding the viewers attention. In addition,
radio/podcasts can be listened to whilst additional tasks are completed, e.g. driving, walking the dog.
The negative side being the narrative can be at a fast pace resulting in note taking being restricted and
essential facts not

Essay about Amylase Investigation
Amylase Investigation
* Hypothesis
I predict that as the temperature increases, the speed of the reaction will increase. When a particular
temperature is reached I believe the rate of reaction will dramatically decrease. I believe this because
most chemical reaction happens faster when the temperature is higher. At higher temperatures
molecules mover around faster, which makes it easier for them to react together. Usually, a rise of
10OC will double the rate of reaction. This is true for enzymes up to about 40OC. However at 40OC
the enzyme begins to be damaged, so the reaction slows down. By 60OC the enzyme is completely
denatured. I predict that the same will happen the further away the pH ... Show more content on

I will modify and expand the pilot experiment in a number of ways. Firstly I must decide what I m
going to investigate. I am going to investigate the effect of pH and temperature on the activity of the
enzyme amylase. Therefore I have developed two similar experiments (one for each factor I m
investigating). To investigate the effect of pH on the activity of the enzyme amylase:
* Pour amylase solution into a test tube to a depth of 2cm. * Half fill another test tube with a 4%
starch solution. * With a pipette place a drop of iodine into each dimple in a dimple tray. * With a
glass rod lift a drop of the starch solution from the test tube and mix it with the first drop of iodine in
the first dimple in the tray. A blue/black colour should develop; this will be used as the control. *
Rinse the glass rod. * Add 2cm3 of the appropriate pH buffer to the starch solution and shake. * Pour
amylase solution into the test tube of starch and shake quickly. * Repeat steps 4 5 (for the amylase,
starch pH buffer mixture) every 30 seconds until a blue/black colour no longer develops. * Record the
results in a table. Repeat steps 1 8 for each pH buffer range until all the

  • 2. The Influence Of The Hubble Telescope Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the adventure science. This remark was by Edwin Hubble, the man that the Hubble telescope was named after. The telescope made many amazing discoveries in the field of astronomy, as well as the man himself did. It was said that Edwin Hubble revolutionized the field of astrophysics. Biography.com states, His research helped prove that the universe is expanding and he created a classification system for galaxies that has been used for several decades. He made many contributions to science, as did the Hubble telescope, and that is why this invention is one of the greatest in the history of science. Biography.com cites that Edwin Hubble was born on November 20th, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It also proves that because of the new things we have found out, we can begin to look even deeper to uncover more of the unknown about our universe. By the Hubble Telescope getting images of the Butterfly Nebula, we can truly see how stars are formed. This helps support the theory of the Nebular Hypothesis because now that we have images of a nebula and how stars form from it, we can prove that that was the way our star, the Sun, was formed. The discovery of dark matter helps us realize how much mass there truly is in the universe and can help us determine the future of the universe. Hubble discovering the age of the universe helps us to date when certain events have occurred and have an understanding of how long it took for it to form. It has also proved the Big Bang Theory because it discovered distant galaxies using redshift and shows how the universe came from a small area and started expanding, which is still continuing today. Overall, Hubble s discoveries have opened up the door to many more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. What Is The Implementation Of MFO To Solve Multi-Area... In this thesis implementation of MFO to solve multi area economic dispatch problems is presented. The practical nonlinear generator constrained like VPL and POZ along with tie lines power flow constraints are also considered in this study. The results obtained by MFO are compared with recently reported results to validate and to show superior performance for the solution of MAED problems with different dimensions and complexity levels. It was established that the MFO algorithm provides good solution in terms of convergence rate and optimum cost with less number of control parameters. The MFO is found to be a promising approach for real world problems. Some conclusions can be drawn from the obtained results cost convergence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The thesis has presented a new procedure for solving the Multi Area Economic Dispatch problem using MFO algorithm. The procedure is shown to be very fast, robust, and extensible to include a large class of utility problems. 3.6 SUGGETION FOR FUTURE WORK The MAED problem is much complex due to the practical operational constraints such as valve point loading effect(VPL) ,prohibited operating zones (POZ) along with tie line power flow limit constraints, which make the system highly nonlinear. Therefore it requires a powerful optimization approach to solve these types of problems. The project successfully applied MFO for the solution of classical MAED problem with security consideration and without security consideration. The aims of the project were to introduce renewable energy to a classical MAED problem and minimize the production costs while taking into consideration the transmission lines, tie lines and bus voltage constraints. The proposed algorithm was successfully tested on a five area system. Introduction of security aspects to the classical MAED problem resulted in an increase in the total production cost of power. Moth Flame optimization (MFO) Algorithm, is applied for constrained optimization and engineering design problems. A comparative analysis of MFO algorithm expresses the optimum functional value in term of accuracy and standard deviation over rest of well known constraint ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With his position assured, Ewers and Lockhart needs to go over the financials of both organizations and what they will look like for the new organization. It should become clear to Lockhart that the musicians collective bargaining agreement will need to be renegotiated. Because of his relationship with the musicians, Lockhart should be able to convince them that there is no alternative to negotiating a new contract if the new organizations is to get off its feet. Anne also needs to convince the musicians of her commitment to the arts and her ability to lead such a prestigious organization and to do so, she will need to highlight her past accomplishments. Anne has had enormous success in directing operas, including serving as stage director for over 60 opera productions world wide, including the adored San Francisco Opera. In addition, she had stints as assistant director at the San Francisco Opera and the Canadian Opera. She also sought to increase the amount of productions during her time at the Boston Lyrics Opera instead of decreasing them to help retire the debt there. The forensic experts should first build a business case through a detailed risk analysis to demonstrate how the process will free the company from litigation. This would serve as a persuasive justification for supporting the lab in case employees rights were infringed during the crime (Nelson et al., 2016 p. 83). Important points to consider during acquisition of evidence should include but not limited to: acceptance criteria, point of contact (Adams, 2012), required documentation and software, vendor s maintenance record (Nelson et al., 2016 p. 84) and physical evidence submission requirements (Adams, 2012). The functions of this team may range from forensic analysis to evidence collection and high technology investigations. The mandate of the team will be limited to its core functions, the type of digital crime committed and whether it violates the company s policies (Craiger, n.d). • 6. Mrs. Dalloway And Septimus Smith In Mrs. Dalloway Clarissa and Septimus smith have various similarities. Clarissa eventually triumphs over her issues/depression in her life unlike Septimus that eventually loses and commits suicide. Mrs. Dalloway an upper class 50 year old British wife the central character of the novel, struggles constantly to balance her thoughts and world. Her world consists of a fabulous lifestyle such as fine fashion, parties, and aristocratic society, but as she the novel goes on she looks beneath the glamour of her life and searches for a deeper meaning. Looking for privacy, Clarissa has a tendency toward introspection that gives her a capacity for emotion. She is always concerned with appearances around other people and no matter the pressure she keeps herself composed. She uses a lot of useless talking and activity to keep her ideas and emotions safe and locked away, which can make her seem shallow even to those who know her well. A character similar to Mrs. Dalloway Septimus Smith, Septimus was a World War I soldier. He s a significant person in the novel because he was one of the first characters to show the horrors of the war. Still shocked and suffering from post traumatic stress disorder due to the war. Cancer Vs Immmunotherapy For Cancer Immunotherapy for cancer treatment has had tremendous growth recently with increased awareness and knowledge of the immune system and potential means to manipulate it for therapeutic intent. Progress in the treatment of viral infections including CMV, EBV, HHV 6, utilization of immune checkpoint blockade for melanoma, non small cell lung cancer, and Hodgkin Lymphoma, as well as rapid emergence of genetically modified T cells against CD19+ B cells have contributed to the growth in this area.Antibody targeted therapy has now become standard of care for many malignancies, and the multi domain utilization of antigen specific adoptive T cell therapy has shown great promises. 4 While our understanding of B cell and T cell and our ability to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The key role of NK cells in various aspects of immune response are now being recognized and have been attracting increased attention for their potential clinical efficacy via immune based therapies. As their name implies, this unique member of the innate immune system can recognize targets without being previously sensitized and thus kill cells that are deemed dangerous to the host. This is particularly important when evaluating biologic studies of NK cells and factors that influence NK cell effect in cancer immune surveillance, viral immunity, and transplantation alloreactivity. In this chapter, we will review NK cell biology, discuss their role in the alloHSCT setting, and review new advances in incorporating NK cells as therapeutic options for malignancies. Large granular lymphocytes (LGL) can be divided broadly into two major lineages mainly T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. While mature cells NK cells are morphologically identified as LGL, nearly a decade after their initial discovery, NK cells were characterized as lymphocytes having an immuno phenotype that lacked expression of CD3 but expressed CD56+. This characterization thereby differentiated them from T cells having CD3+ expression and thus NK cells do not express the CD3/T cell receptor (TCR) complex or experience TCR gene rearrangement. NK cells can be further divided into two distinct ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On the other hand, Lewin s change model or action research model is not suitable for David Jones case because of focusing on more problems in the organisation than concentrating on retail environmental changes. The result of implementation of Lewin s change model or action research model would be led to the strategic failure. The possibility of positive model of planned change for David Jones makes it necessary for the company to use positive model. 3. When faced with a challenge, the way one reacts shows strength or weaknesses, and can close or open doors for them. In all 5 texts the author shows some way that the character either gives up or faces their challenge. When one works hard they are rewarded, but when one gives up when faced with a challenge they are punished. When one gives up, or acts hopeless, he shows how he has no determination or work ethic. In the Escalator and Calvin Situation, they gave up when faced with a challenge. In the Stuck on an Escalator, the people just sat there complaining, looking hopeless and weak, when they could ve just walked up the escalator. In the Calvin at school comic, he has so many high expectations for himself but when when told that a pleasant future and getting paid well required hard work and dedication in school, he gave up before he even tried. So how would one know his full potential when he doesn t want to put even a little effort in to reach his goal. In the Caged Bird poem, both birds show signs of failure in life. The free bird has had many opportunities given to him, so he has no sense of hard work or what challenge really is, so when eventually he has arrived on a difficult time he is going to struggle and might not have the strength to keep going. For instance, the ten commandments stated by the Catholic Church. Needless to say, these are both examples of codes and theory I was raised to believe in. Nature human beings obviously need natural resources in order to survive. (Edward Feser) In this article, Edward made a connection with how owning property should be a natural law for human beings, to better society. For instance, without the right to own property there is no incentive to create property; and if there s no incentive then how can society advance? In all owning property can benefit everyone in advancing in wealth, status, and education. This is why many people including myself have lived by this theory. I was taught at a young age that owning property was our right for a successful future. This form of conditioning has even been successfully done in humans by using rotation induced motion sickness after consuming either a familiar or unfamiliar flavored beverage to create a distaste for the beverage (especially the unfamiliar flavored one) (Arwas, Rolnick, Lubow, 1989). A very common way to teach rats to dislike a certain taste is to give them injection(s) of lithium chloride (LiCl) directly after consuming a taste stimulus. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For best results, LiCl should be measured as an absolute quantity, not as a volume or concentration (Nachman Ashe 1973). These studies (among others) show that LiCl is an effective unconditioned stimulus for taste aversion when administered in correct dosages. Though many studies have observed the effects of taste aversion, fewer studies have focused on the influence of feeding on this conditioned aversion. In essence, conditioning is a form of learning, and learning requires memory. One study used the pond snail Lymnaea to show that food deprivation lowers blood glucose levels and levels of insulin circulating; therefore, it decreases the animal s ability to remember the pairing of taste stimulus and the noxious stimulus (Mita Koichi 2014). This study manipulates the preference for sucrose by administering lithium chloride (LiCl) to the rats after consumption of sucrose. The researchers sought to determine whether rats given access to free feeding would display more or less taste aversion than rats who were deprived of food after the LiCl injection. I think this is the most obvious internal contrast in the first poem and one that Tennyson has deliberately emphasised to great effect. Another internal contrast in Tennyson s poem may be the bravery the men showed and the enormous fear they must of felt although, this may not be true as Tennyson does not mention the fear but does ask the question Was there a man dismayed? There are numerous routes to research a subject, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. For this essay I am going to focus on four methods; internet, text books, television and professional journals. In modern society a common research tool used is the internet, one if its key advantages is its accessibility. In addition, the format of a text book makes it easy to locate the information required and simple to book mark key points for future use. Another strength is the details necessary for referencing the source are clearly presented. Some disadvantages of using text books are the physical and financial barriers to accessing them. Copies available in libraries may be limited and the time needed to visit a library could be restricted by an individual s personal commitments. To purchase a text book can be expensive and often difficult to source locally. In addition, written sources can become outdated, e.g. new theories and discoveries could be made which consequently make the content inaccurate or irrelevant. Television and radio as a research tool can be a welcome alternative to reading. The benefits being that information displayed in a visual or audio format can in some instances be understood better than on paper, presented in an engaging manner making it more interesting and holding the viewers attention. In addition, radio/podcasts can be listened to whilst additional tasks are completed, e.g. driving, walking the dog. The negative side being the narrative can be at a fast pace resulting in note taking being restricted and essential facts not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Essay about Amylase Investigation Amylase Investigation * Hypothesis I predict that as the temperature increases, the speed of the reaction will increase. When a particular temperature is reached I believe the rate of reaction will dramatically decrease. I believe this because most chemical reaction happens faster when the temperature is higher. At higher temperatures molecules mover around faster, which makes it easier for them to react together. Usually, a rise of 10OC will double the rate of reaction. This is true for enzymes up to about 40OC. However at 40OC the enzyme begins to be damaged, so the reaction slows down. By 60OC the enzyme is completely denatured. I predict that the same will happen the further away the pH ... Firstly I must decide what I m going to investigate. I am going to investigate the effect of pH and temperature on the activity of the enzyme amylase. Therefore I have developed two similar experiments (one for each factor I m investigating). To investigate the effect of pH on the activity of the enzyme amylase: * Pour amylase solution into a test tube to a depth of 2cm. * Half fill another test tube with a 4% starch solution. * With a pipette place a drop of iodine into each dimple in a dimple tray. * With a glass rod lift a drop of the starch solution from the test tube and mix it with the first drop of iodine in the first dimple in the tray. A blue/black colour should develop; this will be used as the control. * Rinse the glass rod. * Add 2cm3 of the appropriate pH buffer to the starch solution and shake. * Pour amylase solution into the test tube of starch and shake quickly. * Repeat steps 4 5 (for the amylase, starch pH buffer mixture) every 30 seconds until a blue/black colour no longer develops. * Record the results in a table. Repeat steps 1 8 for each pH buffer range until all the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
