Mobile Canteen
 The Salvation Army's Mobile
Canteen (a complete kitchen on
wheels) travels to stops to provide
nourishment and a friendly hand to
our neighbors.
 You can help by serving with us on
the truck each 2nd Wednesday of
every month

6. Downtown Rescue
Mission
 Serving the homeless living
throughout northern Alabama by
providing Christ-filled, enriched and
compassionate services to those in
desperate need
 By volunteering, we are part of the
solution for homelessness. Be a part
of something bigger than yourself –
join us and help bring hope and
opportunity to men, women and
children who are physically and
spiritually broken and exhausted.

7. Outdoor
Church
 In the Spring and Fall months, we
volunteer to serve the Homeless along
side the Manna House of Huntsville
by providing a meal and an outdoor
church service.
 Serve with us by volunteering to work
in the Manna House, prepare a meal,
serve a meal, and worship with us
during an outdoor church service.

8. Teach our Children to
Serve - Manna House
 Nightly Food Distribution - A daily
provision of food for individuals,
families, and the homeless in our
community. Monday, Wednesday, &
Thursday: 4pm-7pm
 P.E.R.K.S. - This program provides
snacks and ready-to-eat foods for
elementary school children that lack
adequate food supplies on the weekend.
Wednesday’s 2:30-6:30pm
 Meals of Hope - pack meals to benefit
those who are hungry in Madison
County. Great event for the entire
family.
 Centralized child care would be
arranged for those under the age of 4.

9. First Stop – meal
services
 First Stop provides valuable
services by promoting
rehabilitation of our homeless
citizens and facilitating their
transition from the street into
permanent housing
 You can serve by volunteering for
fundraisers, helping serve meals,
and much more.

10. Society of St. Andrews
Gleaning Project
 Gleaning is the traditional biblical
practice of gathering crops that
would otherwise be left in the
fields to rot, or be plowed under
after harvest.
 Volunteer to harvest produce – just
show up and glean!

Home Visits
 Cultivating a family of diverse
disabled adults and providing them
with a home and opportunities that
enable them to grow in their
community.
 Our focus - Spending time with
residents playing games, working
on art projects, gardening or just
hanging out!

 We should value all ages in our
communities, from the very
young to the very old.

13. Choose Life of
Huntsville
 Nearly half of pregnancies among
American women are unintended;
about 4 in 10 of these are
terminated by abortion.
 This is a mission offering free
services like pregnancy tests,
ultrasounds and counseling, and
sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ
with every client.
 We will be focusing on the Walk
for Life through participation and
with our financial
contributions.

14. CASA – Volunteer
Lawn Care
 CASA assigns us an elderly
homebound client.
 Our job – mowing grass, raking
leaves, trimming hedges, and
being the hands and feet of Jesus!
 We provide a team of willing
servants, armed with lawn
mowers, rakes, edgers, hedge
trimmers, sandwiches, and
sweet iced tea.

15. CASA – Wheelchair
Ramps
 CASA assigns us a project in our
community, develops the ramp
design, trains our team, and
provides all the materials.
 We provide a team of willing
servants, armed with hammers,
saws, sandwiches, and
sweet iced tea.

16. CASA – Community
Garden Work
 Located near the Huntsville
Botanical Gardens, the CASA
Community Garden provides fresh
produce, which is delivered directly
to elderly and homebound folks in
our community.
 Volunteers are needed this spring
and summer to plant, weed, and
harvest.
 We can schedule our group to show
up for any work period: Tuesdays
and Thursdays, 3 PM until 6 PM, or
Saturdays, 8 AM until Noon.

17. Decatur Emergency
Relief Warehouse
 Provides a storage facility to
accumulate relief supplies to
victims of natural and man-made
disasters worldwide.
 Volunteers assemble and
package the numerous “kits” that
are prepared for customs-
approved immediate shipment
anywhere in the world: health
kits, school kits, flood buckets,
bedding packs, sewing kits, and
layette kits, to name just a few.

18. Mission Trips
 Are you interested in a week-long
mission on a Cree Indian Reserve
in Alberta, Canada? Join us the
first week of July as we minister
through word and deed, with
service projects, VBS, sports,
light construction, and building
Christian relationships.
 Or maybe something a little
closer to home? How about the
last week in July to Baldwin,
Louisiana, to serve in the
UMCOR disaster preparedness
warehouse?

19. Aid to Inmate
Mothers (AIM)
 Supporting programs to help
incarcerated mothers prepare for
a successful transition to
community life.
 Providing transportation of
children in North Alabama for
monthly visitations with their
mothers at Julia Tutwiler Prison.
 Supporting the “Storybook
Program”, with chilren’s books
which are read by mothers and
recorded on tape, then sent to
children who need to hear their
mother’s voice.

20. Kairos Prison
Ministry
 Serving as “inside” team
members for three-day spiritual
retreat weekends for inmates at
Limestone Correctional Facility.
 Serving as “outside” team
members: preparing meals,
maintaining the prayer chapel,
organizing agape items, and
providing logistical support.
 Serving as Christian community
support: making cookies,
writing letters, creating posters,
and (most importantly!)
praying.

21. Angel Tree Program
 A program of Prison Fellowship
that reaches out to the children
of inmates and their families
with the love of Christ.
 Church members purchase
Christmas gifts for children on
behalf of an incarcerated
parents, along with a special
greeting from that parent.
 Gifts are delivered personally
with a message of Christian love.
