3. NRSV MATTHEW 25:31-40
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then
he will sit on the throne of his glory. All the nations will be gathered before
him, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates
the sheep from the goats, and he will put the sheep at his right hand and the
goats at the left. Then the king will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, you
that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty
and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I
was in prison and you visited me.’
Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you
hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And
when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and
gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and
visited you?’
And the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of
the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.’
4. Who Are We?
A 501(c)(3)Organization
We are a consortium of faith communities working together
for the overall good of the community.
Present members include:
• Holy Family Roman Catholic Church
• Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church
• Faith Lutheran Church
• St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church
• Kirkridge Presbyterian Church
• Grand Blanc United Methodist Church
• First Congregational Church of Grand Blanc
5. Our Purpose:
To provide a central
location for Community
ministries and social
services in the greater
Grand Blanc community
6. Why is this needed?
• Presently resources for FISH are scattered in several places, Catholic
Charities are in another, and other existing church resources are
scattered.
• For still other resources, a person often must travel to Flint.
• Still other possible resources do not exist because there is no place
for them.
• Some people try to game the system by going from place to place
asking for help; a central location would eliminate this practice.
7. Who will be in charge?
• The Senior pastor (or equivalent) or their designee from each of the
member faith communities form the leadership team.
• Current Officers are:
• President: Rev. Todd Biermann, Faith Lutheran Church
• Vice- President: Rev. Nathan Allen, Holy Spirit Lutheran Church
• Secretary: Rev. Glenn Grant, Kirkridge Presbyterian Church
• Treasurer: Deacon Dennis Pennell, Holy Family Catholic Church
8. How will this be funded?
•This effort is totally dependent on:
voluntary donations from businesses,
individuals, organizations and grant
funding.
9. What services may be included?
• Services currently offered by FISH, Catholic Charities, and other
existing faith outreach ministries in the greater Grand Blanc area
• Career Counseling
• Health Screening
• Financial Counseling
• Senior Services
