SUPPORT FISH
Hunger in our community is a year-round
concern. Since $5 feeds a family of 4 for 3 days,
an annual donation of $610 (or $51 per month)
would mean that every day of the year one family
would be eating because of your generosity.
We want to thank you for your potential support
or continued support of FISH
pantries. We hope to see you soon!

2. “If you are a volunteer, you will receive the gift of watching
the eyes of a child light up as he or she gets an individual bag
of nutritious snacks, complete with a sticker on the bag!
You will see the eyes of a young mother fill with tears as she
realizes she will be able to feed her family that day.
You will see the amazement on the faces of new guests when
they realize there is nothing they have to prove, no story, no
ID, nothing. Just go through the line and pick out groceries.
You will hear one guest tell another that “this is the nicest
place to be” -Nancy Butler

The Main Thing is that our
pantries provide an opportunity
to be like God, revealing his
compassionate mercy to people
who may be feeling the most
isolated, the most judged, the
least cared about, and the most
defeated by life.

TESTIMONIALS
“The first day I volunteered I knew it was the right
place. It was” (she struggles to find the words to
describe her experience) “unbelievable. -Lissy Myers
“I always felt like I was doing the right things. I was
raised that way, but I never knew the kind of love that
flows from the Pantry, to the Pantry, and around the
Pantry, from all walks of life.” -Kathy Cannon
Hospitality Pantries, Inc., a non-profit, all-
volunteer organization, currently provides
food packages to over 11,000 families
each month from four Knoxville locations
based where they are accessible to people
most in need. In addition, more than 2000
families receive food bags each month from
associate locations in Claiborne County
and Knox County. We assist people in other
cities and counties planning a response to
end hunger in their communities.
Three aims of a Hospitality Pantry are:
• To prevent hunger and assure adequate
nutrition. The earth’s bounty is meant to be
shared with and celebrated by everyone in the
community.
• To be a hospitable, non-judgmental presence
in the community that respects human dignity
and privacy. We welcome all who come
for food as guests. The hungry themselves
determine how often they need food
assistance.
• To be a place in the community where
people from different denominations, races,
heritages, and economic circumstances work
together to create true community based
upon compassion and justice for all people.
