Remarkable history of Bihar.
Bihar unfolds the remarkable history of its time
.Earlier it was the blend of many cultures. It
witnessed born and die of great emperors of
India. Bihar gave birth to many milestones. Bihar
is One of the first known republics in the world.
While Bihar has a rich ancient history, in
contemporary times, it struggles with poverty,
illiteracy, and lack of development relative to the
rest of India. In its past, the present day capital
of Bihar, Patna , was the center of India's first
empire and was a notable place of power,
culture, and education. Bihar is also well know
as the place where Buddha attained
enlightenment under a Bodhi tree. Today,
Bodhgaya is a Mecca for Buddhist followers.
Ancient Bihar ,known as Magadha was a center of Power ,Learning
and Culture in Ancient and Classical India for 1000 years .Concept by Afsheen Khan

from lowly beginnings and
with the help of some
talented individuals

which would last for 140
years after his death.

Founded in the 5th Century A.D., Nalanda
is known as the ancient seat of learning.
2,000 Teachers and 10,000 Students from
all over the Buddhist world lived and
studied at Nalanda, the first Residential
International University of the World.
Nalanda University was one of the first
universities in the world, founded in the
5th Century BC, and reported to have
been visited by the Buddha during his
lifetime. At its peak, in the 7th century
AD, Nalanda held some 10,000 students
when it was visited by the Chinese
scholar Xuanzang.

Guru Gobind Singh ,The 10th and last Sikh
Guru, was born in Patna on 22 december
1666 Patna ,Bihar
During 1557-1576, Akbar, the Mughal emperor, annexed
Bihar and Bengal to his empire and the region passed
through uneventful provincial rule during much of this
period.
With the decline of Mughals, Bihar passed under the
control of Nawabs of Bengal. This period saw
exploitation at the hands of the rulers in the form of
high taxes, but the Nawabs of Bengal also allowed
trade to flourish in this region. Some of the greatest
melas of the Indian sub-continent, viz., Soenpur Mela
which is the biggest cattle fair in India, were allowed
to continue and even flourish inviting traders from far
and near.

The first Bihar Government
both in 1937 and 1946 was
led by two eminent leaders
Sri Babu (Dr. Sri Krishna
Sinha) and Anugrah Babu (Dr.
Anugrah Narayan Sinha) who
were men of unimpeachable
integrity and great public
spirit. They ran an exemplary
government in Bihar.Bihar
was rated as the best
administered among the
states in the country at that
time. Concept by Afsheen Khan

BUT NOW…..
Bihar has
changed itself
drastically by
time. In earlier
times Bihar was
enriched with
culture but now
days they are
forgetting
their culture
and becoming
the reflection
of western
culture.

Bihar is now shedding tears on its
present situation.
Bihar is now becoming
witness of Crime ,
Poverty and
Illiteracy . Concept by Afsheen Khan
According to BBC NEWS
More than 40% of its
people live in abject
poverty, less than half
can read or write and its
per-capita income is a
third of the Indian
average. It is India's most lawless state
- a murder takes place every two hours, a
rape is committed every six and a bank is
looted every day, according to police
records.
Kidnapping for ransom is a flourishing
industry - police say someone is
abducted every six hours. There have
been more than 30,000 kidnappings since
1992.

Political scientists say the
entrenched caste system is the
bane of development and law in
Bihar.
Voting along caste lines has given
rise to a violent political culture
where most political parties field
candidates with criminal records,
and mercenary private caste gangs
intimidate and kill rivals.
More than 1,000 political workers
and leaders have been killed in the
state since 1990, according to police
records.
"Caste plays a central role in
Bihar elections"
Political scenario is also very awful in Bihar.

Callous Face of Politics
in Bihar

(Liberation) activists took
out rally in Patna on
November 24, 2009 in
response to their party’s
dawn to dusk Bihar bandh
call.
The bandh called by the
CPI(ML) to protest the
alleged failure of the state
government evoked mixed

hamlet, has received
regular supply of
foodgrains on its yellow

card which entitles it to
25 kg of rice or wheat at
Rs. 2 (for 10 kg rice) and
Rs. 3 (for 15 kg wheat).
The coupons are lying
with the villagers, as the

“shortage of food grains”

India's President APJ Kalam has talked
about a prosperous India in 2020 with a
growth rate of 10% and a per capita income
of $1,400.
"Bihar needs investment of
nearly $10billion every year to
catch up on the president's

That seems to be well
impossible.

of higher than the average
per capita income.

• Revival of the state all over again in a true manner by
following the path of positive growth in every sector i.e.,
Political , Cultural , Economical and socio logical.
• Beating the negative aspects to ensure the pace of
growth.
• Restore the lost culture of Bihar again.
• Achieve the growth aspects without harming sustainable
development of the state.
• Put the hidden integrity in the lime light to give new life
to the State all over again.
Vision Bihar.
