Micro-teaching



It is a good way to improve our teaching
It is the best way to improve our teaching
because there will be someone to observe us
and tell us about things we did right and
things we can improve. What happens here is
that we will get feedback on how to improve
our teaching skills
Examples of surveys
by Florence
I carried out a mini survey to find out
about my students’ interest in English
activities outside the classroom. The
majority of the students prefer to use
their mother tongue while carrying out
activities outside the classroom. This
mini survey revealed that my students
are less motivated to use English outside
the classroom.
Examples of surveys
by Mazniza
I carried out a survey on "Teaching and
learning the English Language in the
computer laboratory". I found out that
students chose Facebook as the best
medium to discuss their assignments.
Maybe I should introduce more sites
where they can learn the English
language and change the survey to try
to identify other sites for language
learning.
Examples of surveys
by Nor Hariyati
I carried out a survey with my students on
their learning at home. I find out that
most of them study by reviewing their
own materials. The result of the survey
showed that only a few students like to
study with their friends or in a study
group.
Examples of surveys
by Juzaila
Stage 1: My topic was to learn more about my students'
interests and background in learning the English
Language.
Stage 2: I did this in the beginning of the year to learn more
about my students and to fulfil one of the assignments
given by my trainer. It was a successful survey. I got to
learn a lot about my learners' background in learning the
English Language. The best part was that I got to know that
they really love learning English; it's just that they are not
good at it. This survey really helped me to prepare suitable
lessons for them.
Next time, I will prepare open ended questions for advanced
students and an easier survey for weak students using
True/False Questions or Yes/No Questions.
