The Four Essential Pillars of Digital TransformationIan Thomas
Based on years of practical experience this whitepaper distils four key pillars we have observed time and again in successful digital initiatives, providing a structured foundation for an orderly, end-to-end digital transformation of the enterprise.
The document is a research report about digital transformation in professional services firms. It provides an introduction and overview of key findings from a survey of 136 business executives and decision-makers at professional services firms. The report finds that 73% of professional services firms have low digital maturity, with most rating themselves a 1 or 2 on a 5-point digital maturity scale. It also finds that improving client experience and operational efficiency are the top goals of digital transformation initiatives. Only 12% of surveyed firms report having completed a digital transformation.
The document discusses the importance of information and information systems for gaining competitive advantage. It states that the efficiency of managing information determines business success today. It also describes several competitive forces that shape businesses and generic strategies like low-cost leadership, product differentiation, and strengthening customer intimacy that can be enabled through information systems.
This document provides an introduction to business process reengineering (BPR) and enterprise resource planning (ERP). It defines BPR as fundamentally rethinking and redesigning business processes to achieve dramatic improvements in areas like cost, quality and speed. The objectives of BPR include reducing costs and time, improving customer service and reinventing business rules. ERP software aims to integrate all departments and functions across a company onto a single system. It discusses the benefits of ERP including lower costs and better data access, as well as challenges such as high implementation costs and potential inflexibility.
Straight through processing (STP) allows loan information to be entered once and then reused throughout the application and approval process. This eliminates redundant data entry and improves accuracy. STP streamlines the lending process from start to finish, compressing cycle times. It enables tasks to be completed simultaneously rather than sequentially, as was traditionally the case when files moved between departments. STP has the potential to dramatically transform lending operations by increasing efficiency and reducing costs.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

90 percent of the documents in a typical organization are merely unsorted/shuffled .
7.5 percent of all documents get lost and 3 percent of the remainder get misfiled.
Professionals spend 5-15 percent of their time reading information, but up to 50 percent are looking for it.
For every USD $1 spent to create a final document, USD $10 are spent to manage the document creation process.
The cost of documents to corporations is estimated to be as much as 15% of their annual revenue.
There are over 4 trillion paper documents in the U.S. alone – growing at a rate of 22 percent per year.
Tingginya resiko kehilangan dokumen.
Dokumen fisik rentan untuk rusak, terutama jika adanya bencana alam yang mengakibatkan perusahaan kehilangan dokumen sebagai aset penting mereka
Security, permission untuk setiap dokumen tidak bisa kita atur secara leluasa.

Docuflo eCabinet is currently available to brokers and lenders to enable them to request and receive documents from their clients via a secure portal rather than by email or post. Documents are encrypted and stored in a secure cloud server. This alone will dramatically improve security of the personal financial data sent by customers, as well as provide a clear audit trail if there is any dispute at a later date.
(i) evidence the underwriting of the risk of the loan,
(ii) collect the results of the due diligence investigation of the collateral and the borrower and any guarantor,
(iii) create a contractual claim as a secured creditor to legally enforce creditors rights and
(iv) monitor the post-closing performance of the collateral and borrower/guarantor to re-assess the risk of the credit. In other words, a loan file is a living, complex and interrelated set of documents and data creating legal rights against the collateral and loan parties and evidence of compliance for the regulators.
Today, data and documents are kept in separate systems and not synchronized.
There are loan origination systems, core banking systems and loan servicing systems and, for many companies, Excel is still used that manage the data elements of the loan file. Typically, companies use unstructured share drives to store loan files for internal use. As loan files move from the originators to the secondary markets, virtual data rooms, Box and Dropbox are used to manage the due diligence and compliance reviews of loan files.
In this new competitive era of doing business, we need to adapt to the changes and keep thriving by breaking old ways of doing things. And we must keep innovating ways to streamline processes. Adapting new TREND to capture the market and COMPETE.
