Half a day workshop at KM Australia 2013.
What if you could find a quick and easy tool to help you:
- Identity skills and knowledge gaps among a group of people?
- Forge links between participants and enable effective networking?
- Identify subject matter experts as well as areas for expertise?

What if you mastered a tool that would then help you:
- Design your knowledge management strategy?
- Support the building of a community of practice?
- Design the community’s activities, learning plan, FAQs and e-forum topics?
In this hands-on workshop particpants have been able to experience the “Message in a Bottle” tool designed by Danone and adopted/adapted later by Alexandra Lederer in multiple situations at Amadeus.
They also received valuable tips and tools to be able to run one of these activities themselves in the future.

How to think like an entrepreneur involves a ton of stuff...way too much stuff! Welcome to my brain dump of skills and traits and all kinds of magic that make an entrepreneur successful.
One of the secrets to being successful in business, regardless of whether you want to be an intrapreneur or an entrepreneur, is design thinking. We must empathize with our audience, listen to them, gain insights from them, develop our product roadmaps around their feedback & continuing to rinse & repeat.
In addition to design thinking, we must understand the blueprint of our business, and that is capturing the high level points in the form of a business model canvas. It may seem academic, but it is truly helpful to make sure you understand & can describe your business to others in a succinct fashion. Love it or hate it...it's helpful!
Lastly, we must all understand the buyer of our products and services so we know how to paint a picture around who to talk to when it comes to gaining audience insights, capturing the insights & keeping them fresh in our mind when we go to market.
Is this deck messy and jumping around a bit? Maybe, but I swear there's a method to the madness.
Do you want to stop trading your time for money - without quitting your job or selling a multi-level marketing (MLM) product? The answer lies in identifying, celebrating, and capturing, your expertise! Everyone has a gift, ability, aptitude or expertise and successful people leverage theirs to regain control of their time and options. Stop playing by the rules of the industrial age and join us in the knowledge economy!

Make L&D Count - Shape a strong business case for L&DAlexandra Lederer
Workshop at Forward Government Learning Conference, July 2016 - Canberra, Australia
How often have we heard "demonstrate me the value of L&D"? or "the L&D budget will be cut this year" or seen little or inappropriate staffing levels in L&D?
Based on lessons learnt from experiences in large, mid-sized and start-up private organisations, the objective of this workshop is to take you through a pragmatic journey to shape a strong business case for your L&D.
By the end of the session you will have acquired hands-on processes and tools to help you:
- Assess the critical knowledge issues of your organisation and how to address them
- Get buy-in from stakeholders to support and sponsor your L&D strategy
- Measure and demonstrate the ROI of your learning initiatives
2 in 1 - Blending learning and km for business transformation and competitive...Alexandra Lederer
Presented at Work 2.0 Conference, Sydney - October 2016
• Competitive edge: repositioning the learning agenda around critical knowledge transfer to sustain competitive advantage
• Culture shift: transforming the business to a culture of peer to peer learning, practice sharing and collaboration
• Co-ownership: crafting sustainable, engaging and equitable learning solutions with business leaders
• Co-creation: upskilling and leveraging subject matter experts to create a continuous micro learning organization
After six months of implementation, this is a reflection and lessons learned on the power of working and learning in 'circles' or the new management concept of 'holacracy'
Playing with hierarchies and circles - Experimenting holacracyAlexandra Lederer
In May 2011, I thought about experimenting a new concept to get things done in the L&D space: engage different experts to deliver outcomes, with no hierarchical reporting, no minimum required contributions and no monetary reward. On paper it looked like it was doomed to fail.
By end the end of 2012 the results were mind blowing and kept improving in 2013, so in March 2014, I thought to extend this concept of 'circles' to drive employee engagement and develop a relevant employee value proposition for our staff.
In Oct 2014, I've been told this may be called 'holacracy' - one of the latest management trend - an approach where we "grant special protection to employees to experiment with ideas. It is governance of the organization, through the people, for the purpose. It enables the organization to find and express its deepest creative capacity."
Presented at Organisational Learning Consortium, Sydney 26 November 2014.
Special thanks to Guillaume Kozinski and Marie O'Brien for their inspiring guidance and support, Fiona McCallum and Andy Brown for trusting me with this experiment.

Putting the SPARK into Virtual Training.pptxCynthia Clay
This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.

In the Adani-Hindenburg case, what is SEBI investigating.pptxAdani case
Adani SEBI investigation revealed that the latter had sought information from five foreign jurisdictions concerning the holdings of the firm’s foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) in relation to the alleged violations of the MPS Regulations. Nevertheless, the economic interest of the twelve FPIs based in tax haven jurisdictions still needs to be determined. The Adani Group firms classed these FPIs as public shareholders. According to Hindenburg, FPIs were used to get around regulatory standards.

2. Alexandra has over 6 years experience as an internal Knowledge Management
Consultant at Amadeus, and over 7 years in the learning and development area.
She has consulted within this large organisation to design knowledge management
strategies and solutions, delivering uniformity across the business. Alexandra has a
preference for a pragmatic approach and has designed and applied a number of
tools that she is happy to share, including: knowledge mapping “Message in a
Bottle”, “Best Practice Programme”, “Knowledge Cafés”, and “KM Measurement
Framework”. She contributed to the pilot and adoption of Microsoft Sharepoint as
a corporate collaborative platform but has always been keen to stress that
“Sharepoint is just a tool” and that it takes more to make a successful community
of practice.
In her current position as Learning & Development Specialist at Genea, Alexandra
enjoys implementing an innovative learning framework that blends traditional
training and knowledge management concepts. She enjoys sharing her experience
and has been invited regularly to KM conferences in Paris and Australia and as a
visiting professor in KM & Change Management for a French business school.
