2. Learner Analysis
◦ The age range of students in my class is 10-11.
◦ 12 students are female, the other 8 students are male.
◦ The students are in 5th grade.
◦ 2 students in my class have ADHD.

3. Main Objective
◦ The students will give a suitable definition for what a president is and what a president does. They will
distinguish the difference of how past and recent presidents handled situations during their term. Students
will identify presidential monuments, Vice Presidents, First Ladies, and Presidents. The students will be
presented with numerous objects and photographs that represent a president. They will watch a PowerPoint
presentation that identify each key point in presidential history. After the students have been presented with
all the information they will write a paragraph on what they would do if they were president. At the end of
the unit the students will be able to define a president; describe presidential strategies; and identify
presidential monuments, Vice Presidents, First Ladies, and Presidents with 85% accuracy.

5. Technology Usage
◦ Each day the students will obtain presidential knowledge. They will first be asked the simple question, “What
is a president?” Once students have stated what they think a president is we will take a look at the definition
of a president and explore all of the presidents. The students will be presented with PowerPoint
presentations, videos, and pictures to further understand what it means to be a president, where presidents
live, choices presidents have to make, and who helps the president along the way. The students will research
a president and present their accomplishments/failures to the class.
