How effective is the combination of your main
products and ancillary text
What is your star image?
■ Name- jack avery
■ Personality- jack is a down to earth guy wjo didnnt have the best upbringing and the
music he was listening to and he was creating really helped him get through it.
■ In our music video we showed our artist jack looking directly into the camera.This is
also used in our ancinerly.The reason I thought it would be a good idea for him to look
directly into the camera is so the audience knows they have connected with him on a
personal level and his audience can relate to him and his music if they are going
through simualr situaions.
How I promoed jack averys star image
■ We wanted him to come across quiet sensitive and nore on the emoitioal side.The
music he was singing let this out.You can see his passion for music in the music video
by him playing gutiar and singing, being in the locations such as a recording studio and
him just singing everywhere he goes.
■ We showed his passion for his music in the anciary by putting in musiscal instruments
and musical sheets and music related objects. By having a photo of jack holding the
gutiar shows how much he loves to create his music.This shows to the audience how
he is orginal and he creates his own music.
costume
■ When it came down to the final descions on what jack was going to wear we had to
think about the type of person he is.We decided that he showed to be more into
casual clothing and clothes that arent flashy or very edgy or out there.This is another
way we could show how laid back he was by him wearing very plain colours and
clothing.
■ He was wearing mainly black. Black trousers, black jacket and a white shirt in the
music video and in the ancillary.
■ In the ancilary he was also wearing headphones which suggests that he keeps himself
to himself and he is more focused on his music than the outside world.
camerawork
■ We could create part of Jacks star image by the type of camerawork shots we used.We
took shots of him with him with an gutair which makes him known for his gutair if you
keep showing him with it.
■ We used lots of close ups in the music video so we were able to see his emoitions.
These types of shoyts make it seem more personal with his fans as he is looking
directly into the the camera which makes him have a connection with the audinece.
Our genre
■ Our genre for this music video was accousic pop that lets us use a lot of different types of
props (which were, a gutiar, microphone, phones and musical lyric sheets) camera shots (
long shots, close ups and extream close ups) and lots of ideas for our anciarlly.
■ The fonts we usedlink between our digi post and our advert and the music video.We did
this to show consistancy and to make them all relatable.This shows that the star image is
very down to earth because it isnt very fancy texts.
■ the colours in the costue were netural tones and very dark and the colours we used for the
costume matched other parts of the msuic video.We did this because they are very suttle
and not in your face which isnt what jack is about.
■ Even though the song is a upbeat song the lyrics are juxta to this because it’s a sad song.To
show this through the use of colour we used the colour blue for the background for the
front cover and then having jack in black.

■ We used many different locations such as:
■ Recording studio, Jacks bedroom, in a local park, On a bridge, gym
■ We used the recording studio for him to let out his emotions and to show the audince how
he makes his music.The gym we used for a way for him to let out his anger and frustration.
The bridge was a place for him to reflect on his life and his relationship he had with his ex.
Each location we chose was a location we knew someone would be able to relate to.
■ We showed him in the recording studio in the digi pact because we wanted to show how he
creates his music as creating his music is the biggest part in his life.
■ It could have been more effective if we chose more locations in our ancilary because the
audience could see him in more public places so people know he is just like them.

■ Things that linked the accustic pop and the music video and the digipact together are;
recording studio, sheet music, headphones, gutair, sound board they all come
together to hint to the audience that it is a pop video.
Improvements
■ Some of the things that I beloved my group and I could of improved in are;
■ Links bewteen the msuic video and the ancialrry products is that in the msuic video
there wasn’t as many connections made with the artist and the camera which we
wanted as we wanted this to have a strong connection wuth everyone which is
watching the music video.
■ The story line in the msuic video is queit deep and serious and something most people
goes through in their life time at least once in their lives. Everyone will go through a
heart break so people can relate to it and make a connectiom.
■ I think for the ancialrry we could of made more of a connection witht the audience, for
example, we could have had more eye contact with the audience.

  • 1. QUESTION 2 How effective is the combination of your main products and ancillary text
  • 2. What is your star image? ■ Name- jack avery ■ Personality- jack is a down to earth guy wjo didnnt have the best upbringing and the music he was listening to and he was creating really helped him get through it. ■ In our music video we showed our artist jack looking directly into the camera.This is also used in our ancinerly.The reason I thought it would be a good idea for him to look directly into the camera is so the audience knows they have connected with him on a personal level and his audience can relate to him and his music if they are going through simualr situaions.
  • 3. How I promoed jack averys star image ■ We wanted him to come across quiet sensitive and nore on the emoitioal side.The music he was singing let this out.You can see his passion for music in the music video by him playing gutiar and singing, being in the locations such as a recording studio and him just singing everywhere he goes. ■ We showed his passion for his music in the anciary by putting in musiscal instruments and musical sheets and music related objects. By having a photo of jack holding the gutiar shows how much he loves to create his music.This shows to the audience how he is orginal and he creates his own music.
  • 4. costume ■ When it came down to the final descions on what jack was going to wear we had to think about the type of person he is.We decided that he showed to be more into casual clothing and clothes that arent flashy or very edgy or out there.This is another way we could show how laid back he was by him wearing very plain colours and clothing. ■ He was wearing mainly black. Black trousers, black jacket and a white shirt in the music video and in the ancillary. ■ In the ancilary he was also wearing headphones which suggests that he keeps himself to himself and he is more focused on his music than the outside world.
  • 5. camerawork ■ We could create part of Jacks star image by the type of camerawork shots we used.We took shots of him with him with an gutair which makes him known for his gutair if you keep showing him with it. ■ We used lots of close ups in the music video so we were able to see his emoitions. These types of shoyts make it seem more personal with his fans as he is looking directly into the the camera which makes him have a connection with the audinece.

Our genre ■ Our genre for this music video was accousic pop that lets us use a lot of different types of props (which were, a gutiar, microphone, phones and musical lyric sheets) camera shots ( long shots, close ups and extream close ups) and lots of ideas for our anciarlly. ■ The fonts we usedlink between our digi post and our advert and the music video.We did this to show consistancy and to make them all relatable.This shows that the star image is very down to earth because it isnt very fancy texts. ■ the colours in the costue were netural tones and very dark and the colours we used for the costume matched other parts of the msuic video.We did this because they are very suttle and not in your face which isnt what jack is about. ■ Even though the song is a upbeat song the lyrics are juxta to this because it’s a sad song.To show this through the use of colour we used the colour blue for the background for the front cover and then having jack in black.
  • 7. location ■ We used many different locations such as: ■ Recording studio, Jacks bedroom, in a local park, On a bridge, gym ■ We used the recording studio for him to let out his emotions and to show the audince how he makes his music.The gym we used for a way for him to let out his anger and frustration. The bridge was a place for him to reflect on his life and his relationship he had with his ex. Each location we chose was a location we knew someone would be able to relate to. ■ We showed him in the recording studio in the digi pact because we wanted to show how he creates his music as creating his music is the biggest part in his life. ■ It could have been more effective if we chose more locations in our ancilary because the audience could see him in more public places so people know he is just like them.
  • 8. links ■ Things that linked the accustic pop and the music video and the digipact together are; recording studio, sheet music, headphones, gutair, sound board they all come together to hint to the audience that it is a pop video.

Improvements ■ Some of the things that I beloved my group and I could of improved in are; ■ Links bewteen the msuic video and the ancialrry products is that in the msuic video there wasn’t as many connections made with the artist and the camera which we wanted as we wanted this to have a strong connection wuth everyone which is watching the music video. ■ The story line in the msuic video is queit deep and serious and something most people goes through in their life time at least once in their lives. Everyone will go through a heart break so people can relate to it and make a connectiom. ■ I think for the ancialrry we could of made more of a connection witht the audience, for example, we could have had more eye contact with the audience.
