Improving Workplace Safety Performance in Malaysian SMEs: The Role of Safety ...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: In the Malaysian context, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) experience a significant
burden of workplace accidents. A consensus among scholars attributes a substantial portion of these incidents to
human factors, particularly unsafe behaviors. This study, conducted in Malaysia's northern region, specifically
targeted Safety and Health/Human Resource professionals within the manufacturing sector of SMEs. We
gathered a robust dataset comprising 107 responses through a meticulously designed self-administered
questionnaire. Employing advanced partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) techniques
with SmartPLS 3.2.9, we rigorously analyzed the data to scrutinize the intricate relationship between safety
behavior and safety performance. The research findings unequivocally underscore the palpable and
consequential impact of safety behavior variables, namely safety compliance and safety participation, on
improving safety performance indicators such as accidents, injuries, and property damages. These results
strongly validate research hypotheses. Consequently, this study highlights the pivotal significance of cultivating
safety behavior among employees, particularly in resource-constrained SME settings, as an essential step toward
enhancing workplace safety performance.

“To be integrated is to feel secure, to feel connected.” The views and experi...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: Although a significant amount of literature exists on Morocco's migration policies and their
successes and failures since their implementation in 2014, there is limited research on the integration of subSaharan African children into schools. This paperis part of a Ph.D. research project that aims to fill this gap. It
reports the main findings of a study conducted with migrant children enrolled in two public schools in Rabat,
Morocco, exploring how integration is defined by the children themselves and identifying the obstacles that they
have encountered thus far. The following paper uses an inductive approach and primarily focuses on the
relationships of children with their teachers and peers as a key aspect of integration for students with a migration
background. The study has led to several crucial findings. It emphasizes the significance of speaking Colloquial
Moroccan Arabic (Darija) and being part of a community for effective integration. Moreover, it reveals that the
use of Modern Standard Arabic as the language of instruction in schools is a source of frustration for students,
indicating the need for language policy reform. The study underlines the importanceof considering the
children‟s agency when being integrated into mainstream public schools.

everything they need to know.
4. FONTS
• Main heading font – Tripleta -
I am using this font as it is very bold and each letter really stands out. The successful Hip-Hop magazines mostly have a very bold
title. It links to the genre of my magazine as the boldness emphasizes the importance of Hip-Hop.
Double page spread font – Accidental Presidency
It suites our target audience as it isn’t a very classic or old font. It is still bold which is very easy to read for our audience and
makes the double page spreads stand out and look more professional and well created.
5. ADVERTISEMENT AND DISTRIBUTION
• My magazine will be printed on glossy A4 recyclable.
• My magazine will be advertised on social media as it is free and an easy method
of advertising. As well as this, the majority of my target audience are users of

• This is because I believe that most people who
listen to Hip-Hop are of that age.
• As well as this, a lot of Hip-Hop is inappropriate
for younger people.
9. LEGAL AND ETHICAL ISSUES
• Ethical – Hip-Hop has a lot of swearing so I need to be cautious about this when
writing my content to make sure there is no swearing or at least warn readers there is
explicit language.
• Legal – Copyright Issues (Photos)
• No discrimination against anyone
• Age – Explicit language

Editor's Notes
Locked In’ is a North London Local Hip-hop magazine targeted at 18-24 year olds with a love of Hip-Hop.
It is a magazine that will be sold monthly for £3.50. This is because other Hip-hop magazines are mostly sold for 4-6 pounds. We have listed our magazine for less as it is not as popular as the other magazines and in order to grow, having a lower price than our competition will make customers want to purchase our magazine. This will help us increase sales.
It is aimed at people with an interest in Hip-Hop as well as musicians and DJs.
My objective is to sell this magazine in North London and entertain as well as inform readers about the North London music scene. I want educate people who may have a new interest into Hip-Hop about everything they need to know such as what the hip hop culture is like and even upcoming events and showcase artists in North London.
Main title heading - Tripleta (Bold Sans Serif) https://www.dafont.com/tripleta.font?text=LOCKED+IN&back=theme
I am using this font as it is very bold and each letter really stands out. The successful Hip-Hop magazines mostly have a very bold title. It links to the genre of my magazine as the boldness emphasizes the importance of Hip-Hop.
Double page spread font –Accidental Presidency
MN https://www.dafont.com/accidental-presiden.font?text=ABCabc123&back=theme
It suites our target audience as it isn’t a very classic or old font. It is a tiny bit fancy to replicate the flow and relaxation of some hip-hop.
In the top right is and example of a double page spread of another Hip Hop magazine and you can see it is also a bold font that is very easy to read and it helps the quote really stand out. The front cover in the bottom right is very similar to my heading as they are both big and have a very heavy appearance.
My magazine will be printed on glossy A4 recyclable.
My magazine will be advertised on social media as it is free and an easy method of advertising. As well as this, the majority of my target audience are users of social media. This means we can build our brand awareness quickly and well on a local scale
My magazine will be distributed in newsagents around North London as well as an online edition as well on our official website.
The magazine will come with a code once a month that will allow you to download the top 10 North London Hip-Hop songs of that month as voted by the public off iTunes or the android store.
This mood board shows hip-hop culture, the image hip-hop artists have, Hip-Hop albums and a few artists performing live. This will inspire me when I am looking for the perfect front cover photo or content in my magazine. It is pretty much the whole Hip-Hop genre summed up and what I should include in my magazine that will help interest readers.
My Magazine will be aimed at people aged 18-24 with an interest in Hip-Hop. This is because I believe that most people who listen to Hip-Hop are of that age. This age group will also have many people who will be able to afford this magazine as they will mostly have jobs and still live at home so they wont have many bills to pay.
As well as this, a lot of Hip-Hop is inappropriate for younger people. This is because there is a lot of explicit language involved in hip hop
All very bold titles.
Not really direct competition.
Only 2 real London/United Kingdom competitors. (Rewind and Wordplay)
Time out is London based so could cover some things I do but not in the way I do.
Not all of these magazines are still published now however they are still here so I can be inspired on how my front cover and magazine should be themed. Hip-Hop magazines are decreasing so I think I can make mine successful in at least North London as there is near to no local competition and even worldwide competition is decreasing.
Ethical – Hip-Hop has a lot of swearing so I need to be cautious about this when writing my content to make sure there is no swearing or at least warn readers there is explicit language. (younger ages)
Legal – Copyright Issues – Make sure what I use in my magazines such as photos and information is not copyrighted and if it is, I must say where it came from or find an alternative.
We will not discriminate against anyone's, gender, age and race
Photography equipment – to get photos for front cover and double page
Upcoming artist - To interview and take photos of
Public location for Photos –Need permission and need to take photos somewhere
Computer/Laptop – To edit photos and make my magazine before printing.
Editing software – Photoshop…
This is my mock up of my front cover. I have the main image right in the middle. The masthead is at the top next to the logo and there's a selling line at the very top. The issue number is at the bottom. There are articles featured in the magazine around the magazine front cover to show what’s inside.
This is my mock up of a double page spread I could use in a magazine. In the top left I will have the heading of the double page spread. Below this will be a close up shot of the upcoming artist I am interviewing. Under this image will be the start of the interview. On the other page will be Q and A questions for an artist as asked by the public. My logo will be to the left of my double page spreads and I will have. There are many Tags in my magazine to make the reader feel as if what there reading is personal to them and extremely important.
