This document proposes a hip-hop magazine called "Interlude" that highlights up-and-coming artists in North London. The magazine will contain interviews, event information, and behind-the-scenes stories. It will target 15-22 year old middle-low income males, who are the primary listeners of hip-hop music. The monthly subscription will be £3.49 online or £4.29 for a printed copy. Sample materials show a draft logo, layout sketches, and article ideas featuring local artists while gaining popularity. Personnel such as journalists, designers, and a social media team will be needed to create and promote the magazine.

is constantly growing with various amounts of different styles and with an ever lasting
growth of refreshing and exciting artists.
4. Target audience
■ My primary target audience for a hip hop magazine is 15-22 year old middle-low class
males. This is because the majority or popular hip hop artists sing/rap about topics that
relate to or inform this demographic.
■ My secondary audience for a hip hop magazine is 14-21 year old black middle-low class

listen to this kind of music

12. SAMPLE MATERIALS
■ I have decided to title the magazine Interlude, as many rap artists use interludes in
their albums, to either help present a message or help explain and convey the
messages that the album may be trying present; therefore suggesting that this
magazine is an interlude in the hip hop and rap genre as a whole.
■ The word 'interlude' sounds similar to 'inter scope' which is a global rap label owned
and created by Dr.Dre, one of the most famous rap and hip artists in the world.
14. Examples of competition:
Some reasons why consumers may choose this magazine over mine:
■ Bold masthead
■ Globally recognized artists
■ Social media links
■ Well known names
16. Article ideas:
■ For each issue of the magazine, it will have a featured artist of whom will be on the front cover.
■ The magazine will contain articles with this featured artists of which will contain QnA's, and story's behind the
making of certain songs and albums.
■ The questions from the QnA will come from consumers on social media (details on how to access that will be on
the front cover) , of which the questions will be carefully selected by our interviewers.
■ In the earlier issues of the magazine, while it begins to gain a reputation, the majority of featured artists will be
up and coming local North London artists. As it gains a reputation, the magazine will begin to feature more
popular artists.
■ Regardless to how popular the magazine is, at least every other issue will have an up and coming artists on order
to keep the magazine fresh, authentic and relatable to the North London youth.
■ Another article idea is a monthly top 50 most popular hip hop songs at that time. This will be done as hip hop
fans often like finding new music to listen to, therefore will gain a lot of customers from that.
■ On the sides of some of the articles, there will be promotions and run giveaways/tickets to the customers in
order to ensure that the reader can interact and can identify with the magazine.
