I have chosen a single black and white photograph from my previous photo shoot with Darius for my double page spread to create a calmer atmosphere. I edited the image to black and white to avoid clashes with the teal green box and text. The teal green box at the top further enhances the house style. The quote "Dark and Light" is a play on words referring to the black and white image but will also be mentioned in the upcoming interview. I used white text below the black text to further signify dark and light. I provided a brief overview of the opposite page without making it too detailed.

1. In today’s lesson I selected my favourite photograph taken on the previous photo-shoot with
Darius for the only image for my double page spread. I have decided to use only one image as I
think it creates a calmer atmosphere to the page and doesn't leave it looked cramped and
chaotic with lots of images and words that could overwhelm the reader. I have edited the
image so it is in black and white as I felt having it in colour could leave the double page spread
with too many colours. The background to the image is green and as I wanted to use Teal Green
again in the top box I felt these colours would clash so opted for black and white.
The next thing I did was create the Teal Green box at the top to further enhance the house style,
and the text within it. Dark and Light is a play on words with the fact that the image is in black
and white, but I also plan to incorporate this quote within my interview, on the opposite page
yet to come, as something that has meaning and a moral behind it—moving from a dark place
to a new beginning.
The final thing I did today on this side of my double page spread was include to writing below
dark and light. As the above writing was in black, for effect I used white for the writing below
which signifies dark and light further. I gave a short over view of what would be included in the
opposite page but didn't make it too detailed as this would make it boring. I highlighted the
artists name with the splash colour orange and put it in capitals to make it stand out and grab
the reads attention to lure them in to read the article.
