1. Dr. Ali Akhtar is a pharmacist with multiple advanced degrees in clinical pharmacy and pharmacology.
2. The document discusses the purposes and types of pharmaceutical advertising, including informing physicians and consumers, introducing new products, and building brand loyalty.
3. Advertising media options for pharmaceutical companies include print, television, radio, specialized films and electronic materials depending on the target audience and budget.
The document outlines the basic functions of marketing, including exchange functions like buying and selling. It describes the buying process, noting that buying involves assessing needs, finding suppliers, placing orders, receiving and inspecting goods. It also describes the selling process, noting that selling aims to bring buyers and sellers together and is how firms generate income. The document further outlines physical supply functions like storage and transportation, and ancillary functions like standardization, branding, financing, risk bearing, and feedback information.
This document summarizes a lecture on linear correlation coefficients including types of correlation (positive, negative, no correlation), calculating correlation coefficients using formulas and examples, and properties of correlation coefficients such as the coefficient always lying between -1 and 1 and remaining invariant under changes of origin and scale.
1. Statistics is the collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of numerical data. It has evolved from meaning information useful to the state to being a field that uses methods and techniques to analyze data and make decisions under uncertainty.
2. There are three main categories of statistics: numerical facts systematically arranged, statistics as a subject dealing with methods for analyzing data, and statistics as plural of statistic which refers to values computed from sample data.
3. Statistics is used in pharmaceutical sciences to design clinical studies, summarize and analyze collected data to answer research questions, and interpret and communicate results to regulatory agencies and scientific communities.
This document discusses linear regression analysis. It defines the linear regression equation as Y = a + bX, or Y = β0 + β1X + ε, where Y is the dependent variable, X is the independent variable, β0 is the intercept, β1 is the slope, and ε is the error term. It provides formulas for estimating the slope and intercept using summation notation. It also explains how to interpret the regression results by decomposing the total sum of squares into the regression sum of squares and error sum of squares, with a better fit indicated by a larger ratio of SSR to SST and a smaller error sum of squares.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
