This document discusses employee engagement and innovation in organizations. It argues that true engagement comes from employees feeling a strong emotional ownership and involvement in their work through strong internal motivation, seeing themselves, learning and developing, a sense of mastery, autonomy and freedom. However, organizations are traditionally not designed for innovation, instead being focused on ongoing operations. The document proposes that leaders must go before their people as good examples, increase freedom, responsibility and autonomy for employees, open up internal information flows and make organizations more transparent, including through internal social media. It concludes that this requires engaged employees and leaders who can create a culture of engagement, freedom, mastery and innovation.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

Disruption, Connectivity
And Speed: AreYou Ready?
Overview
In the VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous)
world today, how do we ensure that our purpose-driven
organizations are sustainable and able to develop their full
potential, while embracing new technologies, organizational
structures and business models?
Much of this comes down to ensuring that companies have
inspirational, authentic leaders and are supported by people
who collaborate together effectively and find real meaning
in their work. Clearly, organizations that attract younger
generations, and entrepreneurs will be agile enough to adapt
as conditions change. These are the ones that will succeed.
How do we manage this paradigm shift and tackle all of
these new challenges?
If you are looking for an event where you simply sit and
listen to lectures from experts on how to stay ahead of the
competition and meet current business challenges, this
programme is not for you!
On the other hand, if you are concerned about the future of
your organization and wish to actively participate in a debate
with keynote business leaders and make a contribution to
the shape of future organizations and talent capital, then this
is an unmissable event for you and your organization.
More than 20 high profile speakers will be present, including
Jan Mühlfeit, ex-Chairman Microsoft Europe, some partners,
like CRF, and a terrific line-up of commentators at this
exclusive MCE event.
Those present at this highly experiential event will embark
on a two-day journey full of insight and debate on the issues
shaping the business world of tomorrow.
Why you should be there

7. Session 2
Disruptive Technologies and New Business Models (15 minutes each)
Technology Cycles and Human Capital:
Escaping the Secular Stagnation Hypothesis
Constantin Gurdgiev, Adjunct Assistant Professor
of Finance, Trinity College Dublin.
Since the early 2000s, the onset of the secular
slowdown in global growth has been driven
by the twin long run shocks, i.e. ageing
demographics and the flattening of the returns
on investment in technological capital. Over
the next 20 years, addressing these challenges
will require dramatic re-shaping of private and
public systems of the supply of goods and services,
investment, enterprise formation, ownership and
management.

such placements, MOL Pakistan will surely continue
to bring diversity to the work force and open new
horizons for the country’s qualified and highly
talented females.

Make It: Building Trust and Integrity in the
Boardroom and Beyond - Across the Company
Oonagh Harpur , Senior Advisor to Boards on

‘governance’.
Oonagh will outline how the best boards are
developing their leadership potentail in today’s
VUCA world. She will be drawing on research for
the Lord Mayor of London’s initiative to restore trust
and integrity in financial services. Along the way,

60 corporate directors across Europe, including 25
chairmen.
Oonagh will then lead a discussion exploring the
challenges and opportunities for purpose-driven
businesses. She is currently facilitating two parallel
shared learning groups for Blueprint for Better
Business putting purpose into business and will
share on an anonymous basis what the groups
have learned.
Leadership in an Age of Convergence
Dr. Jens Maier, Lecturer at Universität St Gallen and
Founder of CE Convergence Engineers.
Convergence between markets and technologies
is happening around us. The perfect storm of
ubiquitous technologies, such as smartphones,
cloud computing, big data, social media and the
Internet of Everything, often characterized as
‘digitization’is, by itself, challenging enough. But,
when coupled with a mega-trend such as aging
populations, the implications are felt across most
industries.
Leaders have to steer their organizations through
this unchartered territory; defensively, protecting
the business against new intruders and proactively
exploring new opportunities provided through
converging technologies and markets.
This presentation will address the challenges on how
leaders can balance the different demands of both
defensively protecting the existing business while
pro-actively shaping the opportunities presented
through convergence.

In the Score & Core session a shared value-space emerges in
which participants get the opportunity to practice relevant
skills and talents in an interactive and engaging setting.
In the Score & Core presentation music serves as an
experiential metaphor on various levels. It facilitates
the development of skills - and awareness - in how to
connect the art of orchestration with the core of jazzy
group improvisation. It connects the pre-composed with
the emergent. It connects the head with the heart - the
conceptual with the physical. It balances organizational with
creative processes.

The MCE Holistic Approach
Today, being a leader is very much a balancing act, as there are many factors to take into
account. There are economic, business, organizational, technological aspects, as well as the
never-ending pressure to outperform in every area of your role.
Learning to balance all of these aspects with your personal life and staying true to your
ideologies is a job in itself. At MCE, this holistic approach to leadership represents the 3
vital factors involved with being a great business leader: Leading Self, Leading Others and
Leading Business.
Leading Self
Self awareness, knowledge, expertise,
personal strengths and skills – each of which
helps an individual to perform within the
business context they work in.
Leading Others
Knowledge, skills, competence and
understanding of how to formulate a vision,
set a strategy and engage people towards
common business and organizational goals.
Leading Business
The business, financial, commercial and
organizational know how to perform at
one’s best and drive successful business
performance.
