How would this support UDL?
Students are able to share and work with each other through problems as they are split in teams.
Also, this is a fun and unique review activity that can include all types of learners. Kids can be
active and engaged while still working on reviewing for a test. Students could also submit
questions they are interested about as the “Math Hoops” questions. This can help individualize
that activity to each student and allow him or her to ask questions important to them. Finally,
using this lesson as a portion of a session, along with having a Q&A portion for students to ask
pertinent questions to them.
Putting this into Action:
This lesson can easily be put into action in any classroom. Teachers would just need to collect
student questions pertaining to the upcoming test, and then put them as “Math Hoops” questions.
Then students would need to be split into teams and begin the activity. This is a FUN,
INCLUSIVE, EASY activity that all teachers could use.
