- 3. HOW DO WE USE? YES: To form affirmative sentences we use the verb 'to be' followed by a past participle. Subject + am / is / are + past participle + rest of sentence The shaft is made of banknotes. The tree is made of bills. Animals are sold in this store. Animals are sold in this shop. RULES
- 4. HOW TO PUT THE SUBJECT? Although optional (and rarely gets), if we include the subject who had the sentence in the active voice must pass the final preceded 'by'. We see an example of an active sentence to passive past. The manufacturer makes cotton shirts. The manufacturers make t-shirts of cotton. . RULES
- 5. SHORT ANSWER: The short answers are very common, because when we talk we avoid repeating the entire question. We use the verb 'to be' to form the short answer. Is the tree made of bills? Yes, it is / No, it is not Are animals sold in this shop? Yes, they are / No, they 'are not EXAMPLES

- 7. NEGATIVE: To form the negative we must deny the verb 'to be'. Subject + 'm not / is not / are not + participle + rest of sentence The shaft is made of banknotes. The tree is not made of bills.
