CBT is a training delivery
approach that focuses on the
development of competence in
the learner as a result of the
training.
COMPETENCY-BASED
TRAINING
Emphasizes most on
what the learner can
actually do
COMPETENCY-BASED
TRAINING
focuses on outcomes
rather than the
learning process
within specified time
COMPETENCY-BASED
TRAINING
Is concerned with the
attainment and application
of knowledge, skills and
attitude to a specific level of
competency
COMPETENCY-BASED
TRAINING
WHYTHE
COMPETENCY-
BASEDTRAINING
APPROACH?
Education and training must
keep pace with technology and
customer requirements.
CBT APPROACH
10 PRINCIPLES
OF CBT
PRINCIPLE 1
The Training is based on
curriculum developed from
the competency standards.
PRINCIPLE 2
Learning is modular in structure.
PRINCIPLE 3
Training delivery is individualized
and self-paced.
Learning is done by the learner
at own pace
PRINCIPLE 4
Training is based on work
that must be performed.
Learning is based on the
actual industry practice
PRINCIPLE 5
Training materials are directly
related to the competency
standards and the curriculum.
PRINCIPLE 6
Assessment is based in the collection of
evidences of work performance based on
industry or organization required
standards.
Thy are not judge against
each other
PRINCIPLE 7
Training is based both on & off
the job components.
Better learning with industry and
school partnership
PRINCIPLE 8
The system allows
Recognition of Prior
Learning (RPL).
The trainee can have Prior
Skills Recognized
PRINCIPLE 9
Training allows for multiple entry
and exit.
There is flexibility for entry and
exit programs
PRINCIPLE 10
Training programs are registered
with UTPRAS.
Assures the quality of training

TWISTED PAIR
Twisted pair cabling is a form of wiring in which
pairs of wires (the forward and return conductors
of a single circuit) are twisted together for the
purposes of canceling out electromagnetic
interference (EMI) from other wire pairs and
from external sources.
UTP CABLE
Short for Unshielded Twist Pair, UTP cable is a popular type of
cable used in computer networking that consists of two shielded
wires twisted around each other.

NETWORK MATERIALS
PATCH CABLE
A patch cable is an electrical or optical cable
used to connect one electronic or optical device
to another for signal routing. Devices of different
types (e.g. a switch connected to a computer, or
a switch connected to a router) are connected
with patch cords.
NETWORK MATERIALS
CABLE RACEWAY
Surface raceway is used to route wires through
a discreet cable track that will improve the
aesthetics in just about any room, and is a great
and affordable way to conceal and protect
cables in both home or office.
NETWORK MATERIALS
RJ45
Today, one of the most popular types of
connections used with computer networks. RJ45
looks similar to a phone connector or RJ11
connector but is slightly larger.
