This map from 1900 depicts the colonial possessions of various European powers around the world at the height of imperialism. Different colors represent the territories controlled by countries like Spain, France, Portugal, Britain, and Germany, who competed for global empires and influence. Most of these colonial holdings have since changed, as countries are no longer in control of much of the lands they once dominated in Africa and elsewhere during the imperial era.

The European powers, great and small, competed with each other for world
empires and world influence by 1900.
There are different colours that stand for the territories that belonged to each
country at that time.
We can observe that this map is from the imperalism time, a time in which the
imperalism took advantage of the territories to créate new fields of investment
and expand markets
Finally, observing a nowadays map, we can see that most of the territories has
changes, for exaple: Spain and France were practically the half of the African
continent, Portugal and Germany had also territories in Africa…
