• What is the company offering consumers by launching this product? What segment and
target are served? What needs are covered?
• What variables have been used for market segmentation? Is there any niche?
• Is something extremely different in the new product or just an improvement of a
previous one? Is there any negative attribute that the product is introducing to the
market? Why?
• Is the brand showing/communicating its competitive advantage to consumers? How?
• In your opinion, what are the key aspects that made the launch a success?
• When a new service or product succeeds, competitors react by launching similar
products or services. In this case, do you think that entry barriers for new competitors are

you stay on schedule by acting as a personal
organizer as well.
A Smartphone is basically a full computer that fits
into your pocket. You are able to do almost
everything you can do on your laptop, plus you
can use it for calls and texts, not to mention the
camera and other features not available on
common computers.

4. The iPhone oozes polish. It’s apparent in the
hardware, the OS and the apps.
The camera and music capabilities of the iPhone
are obvious strengths, but the gap between the
iPhone and everything else in these areas is
staggering.
Every other manufacturer is chasing Apple and
making their phones more and more iPhone-like.
5. Android is a great choice because of it’s tight
integration with Google’s services, a carrier-
supported mobile hot spot feature, and a variety of
hardware options.
It also has very good background processing; the
ability to display the weather and daily agenda on
the home screen via widgets is very useful as

platforms for communication activities.
The traditional strengths of the BlackBerry platform
are: a great keyboard, efficiencies for power users via
hardware key shortcuts, apps with Spartan interfaces
that are built for speed. But…
The things that made it different, and in many ways,
better, are dropping out of the platform as it tries to
play “me too” with the iPhone and Android.
