 Smartphones are great for business. They help
you stay on schedule by acting as a personal
    organizer as well.

 A Smartphone is basically a full computer that fits
into your pocket. You are able to do almost
everything you can do on your laptop, plus you
can use it for calls and texts, not to mention the
camera and other features not available on
    common computers.
 The iPhone oozes polish. It’s apparent in the
hardware, the OS and the apps.

 The camera and music capabilities of the iPhone
are obvious strengths, but the gap between the
iPhone and everything else in these areas is
    staggering.

 Every other manufacturer is chasing Apple and
making their phones more and more iPhone-like.
 Android is a great choice because of it’s tight
integration with Google’s services, a carrier-
supported mobile hot spot feature, and a variety of
    hardware options.

 It also has very good background processing; the
ability to display the weather and daily agenda on
the home screen via widgets is very useful as
    well.
 The traditional BlackBerry is the best of the three
    platforms for communication activities.

 The traditional strengths of the BlackBerry platform
are: a great keyboard, efficiencies for power users via
hardware key shortcuts, apps with Spartan interfaces
that are built for speed. But…

 The things that made it different, and in many ways,
better, are dropping out of the platform as it tries to
play “me too” with the iPhone and Android.
 Apps are essential to productivity, entertainment, and
    full function
    of your Smartphone!

 What should you get? (after Angry Birds, of course)
    Siri recommends these:
    ◦ TeuxDeux
    ◦ Instagram
    ◦ Pinterest
    ◦ ShopSavvy
 Social Media:
    ◦ Facebook
    ◦ Twitter
    ◦ LinkedIn
    ◦ YouTube
    ◦ HootSuite
    ◦ Dragon Dictation

 Lifestyle:
    ◦ Chase Mobile
    ◦ DirecTV
    ◦ Barcode Scanner
    ◦ Key Ring
    ◦ MyFitnessPal
    ◦ RunKeeper

 Battery Life:
    ◦ Juice Defender
    ◦ Advanced Task Killer
    ◦ Battery Boost Magic
 Coldwell Banker
 Zillow
 Trulia
 Realtor.com
 AroundMe
 GasBuddy
 Yelp!
 Larger display, better for presentations

 Easier to carry than a laptop computer

 Instant access, no waiting to boot up
 Perhaps because it bore a strong resemblance to
Apple's already wildly popular iPhone – it even runs
the same operating system – the iPad caught fire
immediately with the public and turned tablet
computers into a major product category.
 Like the iPad, Android tablets have a touch-screen
interface. Both Apple and the various Android
manufacturers offer apps through the App Store or
the Android Market. However, only the Android
    tablets support Flash.

◦ Trulia

◦ Zillow

◦ Realtor.com

◦ DocuSign

◦ Evernote

◦ DropBox

 Android Tablets
 Online storage for all your media.

 Music you purchase in iTunes appears automatically on
    all your devices.

 You can access your purchase history from the iTunes
Store on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, or
Apple TV. And since you already own the songs,
albums, or TV shows in your purchase history, you can
tap to download them to any of your devices.
 Sync your Google account with your Android or
Apple device to access email, contacts, maps,
documents, music, YouTube, and all other Google
    features.

 Many Android-powered phones and tablets come
    with Google applications pre-installed.

Editor's Notes

  1. Smartphones give you a lot of capabilities for doing things on the go, whether it’s taking pictures, videos, updating your status with said pictures or videos, or the old-fashioned phone call!
  2. Just for fun! Illustrates how each user views the others, we’ve all been guilty of this!
  3. What drives these phones are the apps that are available to download. From gaming to pictures to social networking, downloading apps to your phone helps you do what you want, when you want!
  4. These are the most popular apps that most everyone will have on their Smartphone. Not an all-inclusive list, obviously, but does cover much of what a person would use on a daily basis.
  5. -AroundMe illustrates important places close to the neighborhood, like grocery stores, hospitals, restaurants, bars, bus stops, etc. -GasBuddy finds the cheapest gas wherever you are.
  6. Apps shown on right: NearBuy, WalkScore, Real Estate Powered by Smarter Agent
  7. Apps shown on right: Google Maps, Dropbox, Evernote
  8. Apps shown on right: Mayplaces, Mortgage calculator, Bill Tracker An interesting thing about apps available for BlackBerry is the number of international apps that showed up on Inman’s list of top apps for BlackBerry. Realtor.ca is one example, as well as several other international search apps.
  9. Tablet computers are the ultimate in electronic simplicity. Highly portable, with few built-in controls except for a flat touch-screen interface, tablet computers are attractive, easy to use and just plain cool.
  10. In fact, Android tablets are enough like iPads that at a casual glance a user unfamiliar with the two types of tablet might mistake one for the other.
  11. -DocuSign allows you to store signatures and place them in documents easily -Evernote is an Organizer app -DropBox is a virtual filing cabinet where documents can be stored and accessed from anywhere
  12. Because of it’s larger interface, watching videos and movies is a better experience on a tablet, which is why YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu are so popular. Books can also be downloaded to a tablet and read right on the screen, through iBooks on the iPad, or through Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Barnes and Noble’s Nook.
  13. Only available with Apple devices.
  14. Google’s version combines media storage with documents, almost making it a combination of iCloud and DropBox.
  15. ZipForms Mobile allows filling out and signing contracts on the go, and CBLink and the NRT Gateway are also available in mobile versions.
  16. The Electronic Marketing Presentation can be downloaded straight to your iPad, and your King Thompson email can be set up to come to either your phone or tablet, or both, through ActiveSync.
