The major marketing challenges involved in inbound international tourism to a destination include lack of proper infrastructure, human resources, adequate service levels, sufficient marketing and promotion, high taxation, security issues, and regulatory hurdles. Specifically, there is a need for improved transportation like airports, roads, and railways. Destinations also require better amenities and signage for tourists. Developing the tourism workforce through training programs poses a challenge due to attrition and lack of resources. Additionally, the tourism industry in India suffers from high taxes, security threats, complicated visa procedures, and delays obtaining necessary licenses and approvals for projects.
