2. Front Cover Process
To make the experiment for the front cover
I used photoshop and images I found on
google images.
I wanted to make something that didn't
look too much like the typical music
magazine, but you could still tell what it
was meant to be.
I used as little colour as possible when I
was writing out the text because I did want
most of the focus to be on the picture.
I went with the more minimalistic
approach when making this as I didn't
want to over complicate it by having too
many images on the side, same goes with
text.
3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– I want to have a focus at the centre of the page, it doesn't have to be a
picture of any artists or bands, as long as it's somewhat music related
and captures a certain mood then I'll be happy with it.
– I like the idea of having the title at the top with a black box behind it, if
I have it in the middle of the screen then the text and pictures will just
block it out, which renders having a title pointless. So having it at the
top in this way makes it even more eye catching and easy to see.
4. Double Page Process
Making the double page experiment I
used photoshop and examples from
google images to help make the
'skeleton' for what I wanted my final
product to be.
By layering the page out like this it
helped me have a proper visual for
what my final page would end up
actually looking like.
Looking at the research and all of the
existing products, having a page layout
like this is the most common way most
big companies make their magazines.
So I heavily based this on some of
those, while still making it unique in
some ways, like having two headlines
on the same page, and having more text
over the size of the picture.
5. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• The layout is going to be the exact same, I used this one as more of a
guideline for how I want the final product to look, there might not be as
musch text as what's covered on this page, but it's going to be in the same
general area.
• The placement of the pictures will most likely stay the same as well, unless
I decide to use a picture that won't work with the format I've made, which
isn't likely but could still happen.
