The document describes plans for a new music magazine called "TUNE" focused on the hip hop genre and targeting teenagers and young adults. The magazine would feature cover stories on popular hip hop artists like Drake, Meek Mills, and Jay-Z to appeal to fans. It would distinguish itself by highlighting upcoming female artists more prominently compared to other magazines. The creator wants the magazine masthead to be bold and eye-catching in red, capital letters to draw attention. The magazine may be distributed in shops and online.

1. The name of my music magazine would be called "TUNE". I selected this name because its unique and
original, also tune is a key term within the music industry therefore, my type of magazine would link to the
masthead. Moreover, the word "tune" is slag for song or music, because my magazine is aimed at teenagers
to young adults I think this is an appropriate name for my magazine.
The chose my musical genre to be hip hop. In my research, I discovered that hip hop is a popular genre within
the music industry for my target audience, because it involves many known artists and it contains vocal
singing and rap. So my magazine would meet a wide range of target markets needs.
In my magazine I would include cover lines of hip hop artists such as, Meek Mills, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Nicki
Minaj. I would give my target audience a chance to go to a drake concert, in this way I would have more
people wanting to buy my magazine because drake has many fans so they would want to go see him. My
magazine is different from other magazine such as, XXL or VIBE because it is really rare for you to see a
female hip hop artist as the main image, because there are so many male artists out there. In my magazine I
would have a new upcoming female artist as my main image on my magazine.
I want my masthead to be strong, bold and outstanding. I would do this by making my masthead in red, bold
capital letters and find an effect / writing style that helps to make the masthead look strong. My colour
scheme would be red, white and gold.
My magazine might be published by shops and on the internet.
My target audience for my magazine is teenagers to young adults. This is because my genre of my magazine
is hip hop and my chosen target market is popular within this genre. Also, they have the most free time so
they would have the time to buy / read my magazine. I am trying to make my magazine appeal to a wide
target market therefore, my magazine would be for males and females with the different types of social
class.
3. Masthead
I decided to call my magazine “TUNE” because it is a key word within the music industry. Also
in slang it means that it is a really good song and because my magazine genre is music, my
target audience would know this from just reading the title without having to look at the main
image. My title would be written in red capital letters because red signifies power and strength
which
I think that this is a good masthead for a
music magazine because its big and bold,
so my target audience would be able to
read it clearly and understand.
I think this masthead looks like it should
be made for a radio magazine because of
the letters inside each box. This
masthead is unique but I don't think it
suits my magazine.
I think that the last two mastheads look
similar. But I also think that this is more
suitable for a grime genre magazine because
of the splashes on the letters this is more
associated with grime.
