2. Mid Shot:
I believe that the majority of the photographs that I am going to use in my
magazine are going to be mid shots as I think they are both very simple yet
can be effective if they are taken correctly. This type of shot will be effective
for my indie music magazine as it will allow the audience to be able to focus
on the main aspects of the model which will be the top half of their body
which will allow them to see some clothing but not all as I feel that this type of
audience will not be
Completely interested in
the clothing, but more in
who the model/artist is
themself, and a mid shot
can show exactly this as
it also is taken close
enough for the
audience to be able to
easily recognise the
model/artist by showing
their facial expressions,
hair and makeup.

3. Full Length Shot:
I would like to include a full length
shot of my model in my magazine as
I think this is a very effective way of
being able to convey the genre and
message of my music magazine, as
by taking a full length shot it shows
the whole model; including every
item of clothing, body language,
makeup, hairstyle and facial
expressions. As my magazine is going
to be based around the genre of
indie music I think I would also
choose for my model to possibly
replicate the body language of the
model in the picture to the right as I
think she looks as though she has
some attitude and her outfit displays
an edgy appearance.

4. Close Up:
I think close up shots such as the one below are effective when they are
placed on a double page spread at the beginning of a feature article within
a magazine, it gives the magazine a bold introduction to the individual that
the featured article is about. This is an idea that I would like to incorporate in
my magazine as I think it would engage the readers due to the fact that the
photograph would use direct address which can sometimes make reader
feel inclined to continue
reading the magazine.
By having a close up
shot of my model will
also allow me to clearly
convey the genre
aspect of my magazine
as the image would
primarily focus on the
models facial expression,
hair and makeup which
will all have a dark/edgy
appearance.

5. Incorporating a Prop:
To allow some differentiation between the photographs used in my magazine
I would like to use a few shots that incorporate the use of props. Whether the
prop being used is simply a chair for the model to be sitting on such as the
picture shown below, or the prop to be related to the category of my
magazine which in this case is an indie music magazine (for example: a
guitar, microphone or a set of drum sticks) I think by using a prop can allow
ages to look totally different
Even if the type of shot
being used is the same
as a previous
photograph. I would also
like to use a prop that is
related to what my
magazine is about
(music) as this can tie
everything together.
