2. • The masthead is at the top of the page and is
centred with the use of serif font, which
suggests its status.
• The colour scheme is clear and simple. With
the use of red, white and black throughout
the magazine, it allows the magazine to be
cohesive.
• The layout of the contents page I believe is
different to other magazines as the text is
wide spread and the images are.
• The publisher has used certain articles for
the contents page which I believe is
important in order to attracts the reader
further.
• The images used in this contents page range
from long shot, to close up and mid shot. In
order to have a range that may attract
separate readers.
3. • This contents page is from
the hip-hop genre.
• The word ‘contents’ is bold
and black with sans serif font
which I believe grabs readers
attention.
• Majority of the text is on one
side of the page, allowing a
whole picture to dominate
the other side.
• The magazine information
(website, twitter and
facebook) is found at the
bottom of the page.
4. • Lastly, the ‘Billboard’ contents page
is very unique in terms of its layout.
• The main image is large and to the
right hand side, it gives readers a
clue of what the main story (double
page spread) will be about. The
mise-en-scene in this photo relates
to the genre of music that this
magazine promotes.
• Also on the left hand side is a list of
page numbers and what the
magazine features inside. It seems to
highlight to the reader which are the
most interesting and on trend stories
there are that month.
• The contents page almost guides the
reader to specific pages which
the magazine knows will hit their
audiences interest.
