Compare Two Strategies That Have Been Effective For You In...
1) Explain how you think the Intentional Teaching Framework will help you learn in this course.
I believe the International Teaching Framework will help me take control of my own learning with
the know, see, do, and reflect strategy. These strategies will help me gain new information that I can
implement when I have my own classroom to benefit my students.
2) Share two strategies that have been effective for you in taking on new information/learning in the
past. This can be from other course work or outside of college courses.
Two strategies that have helped me take on new information and learn is rereading the material
and jotting down notes while doing it. This helps me recall things I may have missed and it s also

Hulk Hogan s Terry Bolle Public Figure
First I think we need to discuss Terry Bollea professionally known Hulk Hogan s situation. For
many years Hogan has played a stage character role in the ring, on talk shows and in the public
eye as an actor, professional wrestler and TV personality. According to Terry Bollea the person
behind Hogan is a whole different person, and when he was suing Gawker Media it was not a
wrestling angel but from Terry Bollea. Is Terry Bollea a public figure or a subject to limited
purpose public figure; who has thrusted himself to the forefront of his so call character change

Campaign Finance Research Paper
What Caused for the Reform of Campaign Finance? The reformers passed these provisions in
response to corruption, which culminated in Watergate 1972 presidential campaign (Wright, 1003).
The reformers found that these excesses were fueled by contributions collected for political gain.
Their goal was to protect the political process from distortion and corruption(Wright, 1003).
Money also caused for the reform of campaign finance. Money does facilitate communication of
political preferences and prejudice (Wright, 1004). It also does influence the outcome of elections.
For instance, the more money spent on behalf of the candidate gives the candidate a better chance
of winning the election. However, money could also lead to corruption because ... Show more

However, disclosure requirements are becoming more practical and favorable. As campaign finance
regimes transitions away from regulating which actors can spend money in elections, the central
policy and legal questions going forward will ask how much an actor may spend without triggering
contribution limits or disclosure requirements (Johnstone, 218). However, the traditional campaign
finance regime limits contributions and mandates disclosure by making it clear to individuals on
which contributions are prohibited or spending must be disclosed (Johnstone,

Essay swing kids
When three friends are pressured by the government and each other, what choices will they make
to strengthen or weaken their friendship? When people are pressured into things, does the
character change? Is it a good or bad way. In the movie Swing Kids Peter, Thomas, and Aarvid
made choices that reflect the strengths and weaknesses of their friendship.
Peter is almost the head of there little group, and the choices he makes determines what everyone
else thinks and does. For example, Peter is sent into the HJ s because of his bad behavior and not
because he wants to join. He is an individual and does not do what everyone else tells him to do
just like all the rest of his peers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thomas cannot remain loyal to his friends or even his own family who is closer than his friends.
This shows that he would rather go with the crowd than rather trying to be an individual like Peter.
In addition, at the end of the Movie Thomas beats up Peter because he was dancing as a Swing
Kid. If Thomas was a true friend he would have just told him to leave and nothing would have
happened but he just had to fight him. Thomas joined the HJ because of Peter but Thomas and
Peter thought two different ways and they each went there separate ways also. As soon as Thomas
joined the HJ s his look on everything changed dramatically but Peters look did not change it just
made them grow farther apart.
Aarvid is a person who speaks his mind and always tries to persuade people to think what he
thinks is true. For example, he did not like that Thomas and Peter were in the HJ, and could not
understand why they were in it. He should have listened to Peter when he told Aarvid that he had to
join, Aarvid still thought that Peter and Thomas wanted to join on there own. He was also closed
minded and would not listen to Peter even though he stuck up for him. In addition, when Aarvid
comits suicide he takes an easy way out of things instead of standing up for what he thought was
right. Aarvid should have stood up to the government and told them exactly what he thought.
Aarvid, Thomas, and Peter should have tried to stay together even through

The Night Of The Broken Glass By Markus Zusak
On November 9, 1933, Joseph Goebbels made a speech that initiated a crowd of violent Nazi
activists who would burn down over 1,000 synagogues, and destroy over 7,000 businesses, thus
creating Kristallnacht, the night of the broken glass . Following this act, was the beginning of the
Holocaust. 6 months later, on May 10, 1933, members of the Nazi German Student Association, as
well as other university students, burned close to 25,00 volumes of un German books to promote
their nationwide campaign: Actions against the un German spirit .
Markus Zusak uses the monstrosities of the Kristallnacht and Jewish book burning period in his
book, The Book Thief as a reminder of the effects of the Nazi assaults on everyday life.
In this essay, I will explain the reasoning behind the Nazi book burnings and what kind of books
would have ended up in the fire that Leisel witnessed in The Book Thief. I will also argue that
The Book Thief presents a kind of protest against the Nazi assault on knowledge and social
consciousness through the celebration of reading and writing as a kind of power of human
capabilities. As part of the Hitlerite attempt to control society, Nazi members organized book
burning events in hopes to destroy all un German literacy. All material that was viewed
representations of forward thinking that opposed the ideologies of Nazism were banished and
eliminated. This act raises the question: what provoked the Nazi member to attack the literature of

The Idle No More Movement
Friedrich Nietzsche is a German philosopher that has a great influence on Western philosophy.
One of his works called On the Genealogy of Morals discusses an overlying theme of superiority
and power as well as good and bad . This book discusses the difference that the power that
superior people have compared the the weak and poor. Nietzsche exemplifies how the powerful
seem to forget about issues that do not pertain to themselves where as the weak fight for the
issues (Nietzsche, 2007, pp 14). This idea of the powerful overlooking the weak in On the
Genealogy of Morals, directly relates to the Idle No More movement. The Idle No More movement
is a social and political protest consisting of indigenous people voicing their struggles... Show more

The Canadian government has continually entered indigenous protected land to have diamond,
gold, and oil mines, as well as run oil pipelines. These operations have given the Canadian
government billions of profits. Unfortunately, only little of that profit gained by the Canadian
government is given to the aboriginal peoples. I believe that that the fact that the Canadian
government is profiting off of illegal activity and not sharing a large portion of the profits with
the rightful owners of the resources is wrong. This action and lack of respect for the law goes
directly against Nietzsche s idea of utilitarianism. Nietzsche describes the idea of utilitarianism
as involving how we ought to be made of finer stuff than Utilitarianism (Lecture, 2016). He
describes it as a pursuit of pleasure and good that has a positive and maximized effect for the
majority of people (Lecture, 2016). This idea is how indigenous people live their life. They live
their life so that the future generations can use the same land as they used it. If one person were
to destroy the land for the pursuit of profit, then it should create wealth for the greater number of
people. Christoff s article on Idle No More exemplifies this when Chief Spence says great riches
are being taken from our land for the benefit of a few, including the government of Canada and
Ontario, who receive large royalty payments, while we receive so little, outlines Chief

The Difference Between Race And Racial Identity In The...
Introduction Racial identity is a part of a socially constructed hierarchy that identifies human beings
based on their ethnicity and ancestry. Essentially, the only difference between race and ethnicity is
that race is determined by the dominant ethnicity. Race has been a relevant topic throughout
history, and racial conflicts still exist in the modern world. Judgements based on racial identity
create prejudice and bigotry. The susceptibility of people to believe others predispositions is what
causes prejudice and bigotry to grow. Racial identity has inhibited individuals opportunities for
centuries due to predispositions formed from a lack of credible knowledge.
Perspective: African American
African Americans have been perceived as inferior for centuries due to their race. African
discrimination began with the Atlantic slave trade. Europeans bought Africans for the purpose of
using them as slaves in the New World. According to the BBC, more than a million enslaved
Africans died during just their transport to the Americas. Patrick Manning, a former Trinidad
politician, estimated that ten million Africans entered the New World as slaves from 1500 1900.
This early practice of discrimination encouraged the formation of later eras. The Atlantic slave trade
took the right to life away from the Africans and took away their opportunities to experience the
culture of their homeland. This inhibition was a direct cause for the lack of development seen in
Africa throughout its

Conbolism In The Symbols Of The Hamburger Mary s
Hamburger Mary s. According to Mrs. Young (2017), the rainbow can be displayed in the form of
a sticker, tattoo, or flags (Young, personal communications, June 26, 2017). There is also a symbol
of the LGBTQ community that is not as commonly known. Per Mrs. Young (2017), there is a
yellow equal symbol with a blue background (Young, personal communications, June 26, 2017). I
have seen this symbol becoming popular as a bumper sticker on automobiles. Mrs. Young (2017)
also talked about the sexual symbols such as two women and two men, as well as the puns. The
puns can include Gaydar and Born this way slogans (Young, personal communications, June 26,
2017). With artifacts being expressed openly other members of the subculture are aware of the
shared subculture of which they are a part of. When members of the subculture find out about a new
member it does not make them instant friends. According to Mrs. Young (2017), many people that
are not a part of the subculture make the huge misconception that everyone that is in the subculture
knows one another. Furthermore, those that are a part of the subculture make friends the same way
as those outside of the subculture. Just because another person is LGBTQ does not make them
instant friends (Young, personal communications, June 26, 2017). The LGBTQ is an increasingly
known subculture. The members of the subculture not only have their own functions, but they also
make an impact in our Colorado community. I have noticed the impact of the subculture becoming
well known and is still on the rise of recognition.
There are bars, parades, community gatherings, and even restaurants that are available to the
public for those involved in LGBTQ. According to the Hamburger Mary s website (2017),
Hamburger Mary s is a restaurant that is open to the LGBTQ community and the public. This is
currently a Local restaurant located in Denver, Colorado, as well as, sixteen other locations in the
United States (Hamburger Mary s, 2017). The restaurant chain is available in many locations,
making it clear that the LGBTQ subculture is larger than Colorado alone. Furthermore, the
restaurant is open to the public, not just the LGBTQ subculture. When I was at the Denver location

The Challenges Of Puerto Rico
The once beautiful island of Puerto Rico was terribly ravaged by hurricanes Irma and Maria.
The Island s capital of San Juan, along with cities to the northeast, didn t even get a chance to
fully recover from hurricane Irma s graze when the entire island was hit full force, by Maria as a
category 5 hurricane only two weeks after. The devastation following Maria was unprecedented,
wiping out power to the entire island for almost a week, along with water, internet and cell
services, to name a few. It took four days to get water pumps to provide limited water supply to a
small portion of the island. Almost a month after the hurricanes, only 13% of the island is
receiving power from the grid, and about 60% has access to water. The... Show more content on

As a result of current conditions, the airports are stuffed to capacity with people waiting for up
to three days in the terminal for a flight off the island. The waterfront is still recovering, with
many of the shops, restaurants and infrastructure in grave state of disrepair. Once a landmark in
Old San Juan, cruise ship traffic has been non existent for weeks. Not all is chaos and
dysfunction is Puerto Rico though. There is one aspect that has been bringing people together,
raising spirits and inspiring change, and that is food. Particularly throughout Old San Juan,
where food trucks are becoming more prominent than anything else in the landscape. Carts,
trucks, and trailers with Christmas lights and boom boxes can be found all over, whether in
parking lots or on the side of streets, they re serving crowds a variety of local favorites. A Puerto
Rico original is the Mofongo de Ropa Vieja, which is a especially prepared unripe plantain,
boiled in saltwater, shaped into a cup. Then, it is deep fried and filled with shredded beef, that
has been marinated with red peppers, onions and spices absolutely delicious! Some of the
smaller tracks and carts sell another local favorite called the Pincho; basically, your choice of
meat on a stick, cooked over charcoal and served with Pan Sobao (Puerto Rican sweet bread) and
hot sauce. Lastly, the Bacalaitos (or little Cod), which is mix of granulated corn flour, cod fish,

Nuclear Waste
After 30 years ever since Chernobyl, the U.S has been using nuclear energy has a type of fuel.
To start, Chernobyl was one of the world s worst nuclear disaster. A fire caused an explosion to
occur at the Chernobyl plant in Ukraine and forced more than 300,000 people to flee and caused
radiation levels that are still harmful today. After this incident, the U.S continues to use nuclear
energy as a type of fuel for buildings and more, but a meltdown or an explosion in the U.S is
unlikely to happen because of how safe facilities are in the U.S. A meltdown will rarely happen,
but what is worse is the accumulation of radioactive waste and the U.S have been ignoring the fact
that this is a problem. The discovery of radioactive waste is important... Show more content on

To start, this is why the discovery is important because if nuclear waste is left alone then it could
kill or harm people. With the amount of nuclear waste the U.S keeps stored, it has enough to
harm the whole entire country. The U.S holds about 70,000 metric tons of nuclear waste at 70
sites in 39 different states. In the article, Stop Dithering on Nuclear Waste, by the Editors, the
author states, Some 70,000 metric tons of it are not stored at 70 sites scattered across 39 states
(Editors,3). 39 states may not seem a lot, but 70,000 metrics tons of nuclear waste is not
something to keep around; it is something extremely dangerous to keep around. What makes
everything even worse is that this waste is being held underground in deep pools of water in dry
casks made of steel and concrete and sits on reinforced pads. The author states, The waste, hot
from radioactive decay, is held in deep pools of water or in dry casks of concrete and steel that
sit on reinforced pads (Editors, 3). With the world experiencing terrorist attacks or earthquakes,
these casks are bound to get damaged by bombs or earthquakes, which will crack the casks and
force the nuclear waste to spill out. As a result, the nuclear waste will hurt the public as it
spreads life threatening radiation out into the infected area. Not to mention that the waste can
also cause fires and fires can spread for a while. This discovery is the reason why the U.S needs to
find a different way of storing all of this nuclear waste. To end, the U.S needs to find a different
way of storing all of this nuclear waste or else it will affect the

The History Of Germany
Day 1
By moving an army into Silesia, we gained their territory. Although they lack a supply center
Germany need their country to expand. They will fail as a world power we do not take over
surrounding vulnerable land. Our plan was that once we gained Silesia we would head east, to
Warsaw. This plan is now compromised due to Russia s invasion of Warsaw before we could get to
it.
The Nation that I see as the largest threat is England. One of our outstanding spies (me) lied to
England and told them we were Austria Hungary. In result they asked for an alliance and told us
their entire plan about taking over Germany. England was going after our supply centers and they
have other nations that are in on the plan. That is why me and my fellow ... Show more content on

Day 2
Germany has advanced into Norway, If we keep our army there for the next spring turn we can
possibly gain control. We have managed to keep control of our own land although we did not gain
anything new. Our team decided we needed to keep a military force close to were austria hungary
was heading towards, Resulting in us moving our army to the south of the country and our second
army attacking.
The Nations that are our current enemies are Austria hungary. We see them as a threat because we
heard them conspiring against us. They are alliances with our other enemy, England so we are
certain they can not be trusted. If Austria Hungary send any opposing forces we will have no choice
to give them our entire attention.
Our strategy is to know how long to keep an alliance. We do not want to avoid gaining land due
to our alliances so we are keeping our options open. After Russia supports us in attacking Austria
Hungary, we will not need them for anything else. If we keep our country s best interest in mind
and stop worrying about treaties, we believe we can win.
The Alliances we have formed are a triple alliance including Turkey and Russia. We have both
countries willing to support us in our attacking against Austria hungary. Once they assist us in
attacking we can assist them in their attack against England. This benefit us because we know
England is after our supply centers. If this information

Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine History
Prince William Forest Park YM Sgt. John Williams Date Established: November 14 1936
Location: Prince William County, Virginia Landmarks: Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine, One day a
Baltimore man named John Detrick was hiking along Quantico Creek during which near the
meeting of the North and South Forks, he noticed something gleaming in the water. It was
Pyrite, known commonly as fool s gold and Iron Sulfide. One of the great ironies of this area
was that Pyrite would prove more profitable than the real gold found in the Greenwood Gold
Mine. The Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine began operations in 1889. The large number of patents in
the mid nineteenth century and industrial growth after the Civil War made pyrite profitable.
Sulfur was a necessary ingredient in several household products such as soap, textiles, paper, and
fertilizer. When World War I began, the Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine contributed to the production
of gunpowder. After World War I, the price of pyrite dropped. Nationwide, in many industries,
workers struck. While there is no evidence of union activity, workers at the Cabin Branch Mine
started to strike in 1920. They demanded a 50 cent raise. By this time, cheaper sources of sulfur
were found overseas. The mine closed later that year Greenwood Gold mine, The Greenwood gold

charity was left to the Anglican Church, then recognized as the official church of the state. This

providing door to door relief. The government appointed Overseers of the Poor, who in turn

Francis Aloysius Phelan s `` Ironweed ``
Events that unfold in a person s life occur because of uncontrollable circumstances around them
as well as their actions. This balance of power of these two forces is never the same with
different people. Thus, people fall into two general categories, those at the mercy of the
uncontrollable and those who exert more control over their lives than outside forces do. Francis
Aloysius Phelan in William Kennedy s novel, Ironweed, falls into this second category. Francis is
a former professional baseball player in his younger days who now finds himself, at fifty eight,
living as a bum in Albany, New York in 1938 during the Great Depression
. Francis life is one filled
with death, destruction and general unhappiness worse than the average person living during the
same time of economic turmoil. Francis situation in his life is one he has little control over in some
areas but controls most of. Francis Phelan s decision making is at fault for his misfortunes.
One reason Francis is mired in abject circumstances is because of his laissez faire attitude with
money. One example of this laid back attitude towards spending money occurs when Francis goes
home after twenty two years and receives ten dollars from his son, Billy. Knowing Francis, this ten
dollars would not last long nor would the purchase be wise. He would not spend it after careful
consideration to survive but would throw it away on a thoughtless splurge on the unnecessary.

Qiu Ju
The Story of Qiu Ju (1992), which was directed by Zhang Yimou, depicts a Chinese woman who
questions the notion of filiality and seeks justice for modernity. Filiality is a traditional idea which
regards revering their ancestors, older people, and males as the most important concept. Thus, in
that idea, giving birth is also important because to maintain the family line, patriline, they need their
offspring. In the film, the protagonist, Qiu Ju, travels between the village, the district and the city

by President George W. Bush on November 25th, 2002. The Homeland Security Act was one of the
largest government responses to the terrorist attacks on 9/11, creating an entirely new department,
the Department of Homeland Security under the Executive Branch. The Act also created hundreds
of new positions within already existing government departments. The act has been amended a
multitude of times since its original passage and over two different Presidential Administrations.
Many citizens are still split on the decision whether or not the Homeland Security Act has helped
make Americans safer, or if it was the beginning of many government intrusions of citizen s
privacy. Either way, it is an act of legislation that is here to stay, and as citizens it is important to
understand it and how it affects the lives of American citizens. In the wake of September 11th,
2001, Americans both young and old were in desperate need for answers: Who did this? Why did
they do this? How could this happen? The most important question, though, was: How do we
prevent this from happening again? Then

Greenfield Venture

Introduction
Not to be confused with an acquisition, a Greenfield venture is a strategy in which a parent
company enters into a new market without the involvement of another business or partner. This
popular strategy entails a company leasing or purchasing land, building a new facility, employing or
relocating managers and employees, and then independently launching a new operation where none
has existed before. Basically, the operations within a Greenfield venture are done from the ground
up. As of today, many organizations... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being accepted into France s marketplace gives Acme right of entry to the other European Union
nations. On the surface, France appears to have more of a structured trade policy, which will
make France s trade policies less prone to corruption. While some people may view being under
continuous examination a bad thing, this certainly will keep France s trading processes honest .
According to the US Department of State (2012), a U.S. company like Acme should trade and
invest with France because the U.S. is the top destination for French investment and the U.S. is the
leading foreign investor in France.
Economic Background and Currency Thanks to adopting Euro as their trade currency, France has
managed to turn what could be risks of loss or currency risks caused by price fluctuations into
foreign investment. For example, due to dollar weakness, France unfortunately lost an estimate of
nine percent of their revenue growth back in 2004 but with a rising demand for French imports
and the power of Euro, France weathered the storm and remains a top economy in the world (Tested
by the mighty Euro, 2004). In the past, the economic outlook in France has seemed unbalanced,
been questionable, and everything about their economy pointed towards a recession; fortunately for
them, Euro has proven its reputation of being solid and fixed throughout the EU. As opposed to

Richard II Tragic Hero Essay
Shakespeare really wrote tragedies of great heights and earned standard category. His one of the
best creation Richard II is a historical play rather being a tragedy. The history play is usually
distinguished especially by its political purposes from other kinds of plays.shakespeare emphasized
the political issue mainly in this play. He tried to show the conflict between Richard and
Bolingbroke and finally the rebellion. The play is consequently written not about the down fall of
its hero but around the chronological stages by which Bolingbroke threatens, captures, and retains
the crown. Throughout a tragedyplay readers suffer with the hero and feel sympathy for the hero
but it does not happen with Richard II. So the play cannot be claim as a tragedy.
From the point of view of Harold Bloom, it can be mentioned that Richard II is ... Show more

According to my point of view, Richard II is not a complete tragic hero. He did not have the
qualities of a real tragic hero though he was from a high ststus and died at last. He was not a
good person, a foolish king, a weak and unwise politician, irresponsible self centered person. He
misused his power, increased taxes to accomplish his luxury expenses, took wrong decision,
murderer of his uncle, in a word, he was an unworthy leader.
From the earlier scene Richard II is devoid of for anyone. Through the quarrel between
Bolingbroke and Mowbray, Richard takes advantage to get rid of the crime of murder his uncle
Gloucester.Rather trying to solve the conflict he tried to hide his crime by banishing them.
Richard s inability to make peace between Bolingbroke and Mowbray is sometimes seen as an
indication of his weakness proposed by Tillyard, Campbell, and Ribner. (Elliott. History and

Voting Is A Central Right
Voting is a central right to each American citizen. Your vote is your chance to be listened, to hold
chosen elected officials responsible for their actions and to have a say in vital issues that influences
your community. You can t have an effectively run democratic government without the backing and
votes of the citizens. Votinggives the capacity for individuals to express their opinions about the
administration. Each vote consoles our majority rule government and makes it stronger; we can t
allow it to weaken and crumble. A large number of Americans battled for our rights, they shed their
blood to give us what we have today. Whether you vote or not, somebody will be chosen president.
What s more, that individual will be your leader, settling on choices that influence you and this
nation for a long time to come.
A few individuals contend it s not worth trying to vote either on the grounds that they don t care
for the hopefuls or they don t trust government regardless of which party holds the Congress.
Numerous individuals are furious with the legislature and couldn t care less to vote. Voting is both
a privilege and an obligation as a citizen. Our democratic system is established upon the guideline
of free and reasonable elections in which each qualified citizen casts a vote. You have the decision
to make about whether to practice your entitlement to vote. In any case, it makes a difference. You
have the last say.
Democratic system is unrealistic without the

Adverse Possession Is A Method By Student s Name

ADVERSE POSSESSION
Adverse possession is a method by which a trespasser gains legal title to a property by occupying it
for some period. This kind of ownership may not be necessarily intentional, it can occur as a
mistake where a deed may be faulty. Both personal and real property can be acquired by adverse
possession. However, ownership of property for public use for instance school property or a
highway cannot be lost through adverse possession.
The history of adverse possession can be traced back to the 12th century. During this time, a
squatter could prove his right to ownership of property by the act of possession. Gradually, the
law has been seen to favour the squatters as opposed to the landowners. The law required that the
squatter had proof that he had dispossessed the property exclusively for 60 years in order to bar a
landlord s actions. There were further developments in the Statute of Limitations restricting other
rights of the landlord in 1639. A landlord s title would expire after a squatter had dispossessed a
property for 20 years exclusively. Further amendments reduced the required time period from 20 to
12 years of exclusive dispossession.
The earliest codification in English law of adverse possession was the Statute of Westminster in
1275 which limited actions towards recovery of land by barring the real owners from establishing
claims that were

The Salon Became A Better Business Bureau ( Bbb )
David Gerard Salon opened its Goodyear, AZ location on January 4, 2010, which they market as
a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon. The salon became a Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited
business on April 29, 201, and currently has an A+ rating. In December of 2014, the salon opened
a second location in Avondale, AZ, which they market as an Aveda Salon and Gentlemen s Parlor.
In 2015, this site became a BBB accredited business and like their Goodyear location has an A+
rating. The distance between these two locations is 5.9 miles; thus, it would appear both salons
compete against one another for their share of the target audience.
Target Audience A review of the demographics for Goodyear, AZ reveals the town has a
population of 65,275 (2015) of which 34,651 are women. The demographics also indicate women
between the ages of 25 to 44 represent the majority of the female population (Suburban Stats,
2016). The demographics for Avondale, AZ indicate a population of 76,238 (2015) of which
38,394 are women. Like Glendale, women between the ages of 25 to 44 account for the majority of
the female population. However, when considering the Avondale location markets itself as an
Aveda Salon and Gentlemen s Parlor an examination of the male demographics must be measured.
The total male population sits at 37,844 (2015) of which those aged 25 to 49 represent the majority
of the male population (Suburban Stats, 2016). Fortunately, these demographics paint a bright

Compare And Contrast Between Pornography And Art
We can assume that most things can be separated into right or wrong, black or white but in truth,
where are we to determine an actual line when the fields can overlap even in the slightest? In the
case of the border between Pornography and Art, at a surface and mundane level, we are able to
distinguish one extreme from the other immediately. In this essay I intend to analyse each point of
the spectrum from art to erotic art to pornography. The research question I am going to be
exploring is What social tools are applied to images in order to categorize them as being either
erotic, pornographic or merely acceptable art, and can there be a single true interpretation?

Important to take into account with the definitions of pornography and eroticsm, is that an
extensionally adequate definition should exclude scientific behavioral studies or medical
illustrations of sexual activity, which tend to be neither erotic nor artistic in nature showing that
there are several ways to depict a sexual encounter, without the sexuality being part of the depiction.
Erotic Art, furthering this point, when defined by Peter Webb in his book The Erotic Arts is art on
a sexual theme related specifically to emotions rather than merely actions, and sexual depictions
which are justifiable on aesthetic grounds . I feel this definition is ample in explaining that there
must be an underlying sexual theme shown in the art works, but that the main purpose of Art is to
be about the aesthetics of the object and of the emotions of the characters instead of causing the
pornographic purpose of only

A Short Note On The Russian s Theory

exaggeration. However, Ms. Russian s high level of reported psychological distress and her
endorsement of psychotic experiences could also lead to these validity profile scores. Therefore,
it is likely that Ms. Russian s MMPI 2 results are a valid representation of her personality
characteristics, although they should be interpreted with some caution as they may be slightly
exaggerated. Anxiety Ms. Russian s responses indicate that she experiences high levels of anxiety,
worry, and agitation. These findings are consistent with her self reports of general anxiety and

Additionally, Panic Disorder itself is characterized by an oversensitivity to physiological sensations
and an interpretation that those sensations are life threatening (Hawks, Blumenthal, Feldner, Leen

the hypothesis that she may have an oversensitivity to physiological sensations. Depression Ms.
Russian s responses indicate that she experiences a depressed mood characterized by feelings of
unhappiness, apathy, and low self esteem. This is consistent with her reports of recurring
depressive symptoms, beginning with her experience of depression in middle school that primarily
manifested as a lack of interest in life. Although she is currently prescribed antidepressant

Homecoming Marine is a painting by Norman Rockwell, it was featured on the cover of The
Saturday Evening Post in October of 1945. The original is 46x42 , is an oil painting on canvas,
and can be found in the Norman Rockwell Museum collection. The painting shows a young
soldier seated on a box just to the left of center, in what appears to be a mechanics workshop,
surrounded by six other people. He is dressed in a green military uniform; his shirt has a lighter
green tone compared to his pants. His military hat is tall, circular and perched high on his head
with a leather band around the base of the hat where it meets the black brim. Affixed to the front

Similarities Between India And Greece
Greece and India were more different, because Greece believed in Humanism and India believed in
spiritualism. Greece believed in what was right in front of them, things they could see rather than
believe in. India believed in something higher, something or someone who created everything that
had happened. Because their differences in beliefs, India and Greecehad a different way they
governed their countries, their beliefs and religions, along with the fluidity of their social structures.
Ancient Greece and India had different views on their religions and beliefs. Greece, unlike India,
did not have a specific religion or belief, like the Indians did. Greeks and Indians both believed in
Gods to some extant, however, Greek pictured their gods as humans, and Indians pictured them as
something higher than humans. Greece was not as reliant on religion as India, as they were mostly
based on philosophy. Greece did believe in Gods, but thought of them as humans rather than
anything they couldn t see. India, unlike Greece, had very specific beliefs and had three main

Poetry of Alfred Lord Tennyson Alfred Lord Tennyson is one of the most famous British writers
in history. Throughout his life, he experienced many hardships while he was writing the poetry he
is famous for. The main subject as well as the message of Alfred Lord Tennyson?s poetry was
greatly inspired by events in his own life.
The poet Alfred Lord Tennyson was born in the town of Somersby in Lincolnshire in 1809 and
died in 1892. His early life was not a pleasant one. Some would conclude that ?The early
experience was not for Tennyson a single one, it was a snarled web of family feud, bitterness,

The poems of Alfred Lord Tennyson seem to take a very pessimistic view on life and death. He
dwells on the memory of his close friend which Tennyson describes ?But the tender grace of a
day that is dead / Will never come back to me.? 12 The author Christopher Ricks writes about this

are quite dismal in their tone, they docontain an optimistic message. The last few lines, 57 60, of In

Trying To Teach My Little Sisters How To Read
If you think that teaching is for you, then I suggest trying to teach two five year old little girls to
read at the same time! Teaching my little sisters how to read will forever be one of the most
challenging things I have ever done. The weekend I taught Carlee and Kalee how to read will
always play over in my mind. This is the story of the week that I went insane trying to teach my
little sisters how to read.
It was the summer of 2013, the weekend before Carlee and Kalee started Kindergarten. They had
just turned five and they were as fun loving and energetic as ever. They had been going to a
program called, HIPPIE, all last school year. That program can help kids in many ways, including
the basics on how to read. However, the twins still weren t the brightest fish in the sea. They needed
some help, and mom thought that I should be the one to teach them.
The good thing was that the twins were all for the idea of me teaching them how to read. They
were excited, and that was good! First, we went to the library to get books. I told them they were
only allowed to get two books each. Carlee was able to find two really easy stories that she liked.

could tell she was really into it and loved to read. Kalee was a whole different story. Her first
book was The Very Hungry Caterpillar. She knew the sight words but not really. She could look at
them, and after a minute she would tell you what the word was. They were sight words, she had to
think, and that was fine. Mom thought she needed to know them better. We worked, worked, and

The Consumer Revolution And Economic Factors In The...
The British colonies developed rapidly during the eighteenth century due to the consumer revolution
along with the optimism and hard work of the colonists. The consumer revolution allowed the
colonists to represent themselves in a new way through goods and most importantly, grow
economically. With hard work and optimism, the colonists not only survived, but they managed to
keep up with the growing market and supply the demands needed for their colonies to grow.
The consumer revolution was a very important contributor to the growth of the colonies in the
eighteenth century. The consumer revolution represented the time in which British imported goods
became a large demand throughout the colonies. When the population in the colonies increased, it
was believed that they would face major challenges economically, however that was not the case.
As the population increased in the colonies, surprisingly so did the spending on the demand for
British goods. The per capita figure had jumped to ВЈ1.20, a rise made more impressive when set
against the population explosion. During this population boom, the colonists raised the values of
their exports and imports at an extremely fast rate. By the 1740 s the markets were almost all
consumer goods from Great Britain. The colonists used these goods to create an identity for
themselves and represent themselves socially. Breen explains that as the Americans participated

In Atwood s poem, the Sirens are described as alluring from one Siren s point of view due to their
knowledge of how to appeal to men s desires to be heroic, while in Homer s excerpt, Odysseus
point of view believes that the Sirens are appealing solely to him. For example, Odysseus describes

Invasion Of Privacy
Say Cheese Surveillance cameras are found in places all around the globe. As these cameras
become more popular, people have become concerned with their own privacy. Some common
locations of these cameras are in stores, restaurants, on streets, and in home security systems. When
a crime is committed, there can be verbal evidence provided by bystanders, but there is not more
absolute proof than the proof that is provided by these cameras. Even though some people argue
that surveillancecameras are an invasion of privacy, they definitely do more help than harm.
In 1986, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act was passed. This gave law enforcement
the power to use video surveillance technology. Ever since this was passed, surveillance cameras
have saved many lives and helped solve many crimes. One example of this is the bombing of the
world trade center. After the event, the FBI was able to use video surveillance to collect the
evidence that was needed to convict someone who was involved in the heinous crime. It is possible
that if not for the use of these cameras, this conviction may have never happened. This is just one

so it is bad, but school is not the key place of social interaction. Friends meet all over the place like

Biography of Edgar Allan Poe Essay
Biography of Edgar Allan Poe Edgar Allan Poe was born at 33 Hollis Street, Boston, Mass., on

Corporate Influence And Political Corruption
In today s society many Americans believe that there is corruption within politics. According to
Jeffrey Milyo author of Corporate Influence and Political Corruption, a nationally representative
opinion survey done in 2008 states that, a little more than 50 percent of respondents agreed that
corruption in the federal government is widespread and an extremely serious concern, while fewer
than five percent considered corruption in the federal government to be rare or not a concern
(Konisky, Milyo, and Richardson, 2008). This leads many Americans to believe that politics is an
inherently corrupt activity (Milyo, 2014). This of option of course can be looked at from many
different perspectives. With many major corporations contributing to political campaigns; it is
assumed that these politicians are being bought to further benefit the corporation s agenda.
Therefore, the perspective of Ethical Egoism; contributing to these campaigns is deemed justified
since it would further benefit the company. A politician who invokes an ethical egoism view would
believe that their actions of accepting contributions from a major cooperation would be justified
since it helps them achieve their goal of entering their chosen political position. Since the politician

The Age Of New Imperialism
The Age of New Imperialism in Britain was a time of prosperity and total domination. Compared to
previous years of imperialism, this period was focused primarily on benefitting the colonial power,
Britain, instead of establishing new settlements. Even though the British imperialism of the late
19th century/early 20th century brought great wealth, knowledge, and technological advancements
to the country, it was at the expense of many other people in the empire. Britain, and Europe as a
whole, had to find a way to justify their superiority over these other countries subsequently leading
scientists decided to use their background and knowledge to create disciplines that had racist
ideologies at the root. These pseudo sciences were constructed to rationalize the imperialism during
the 19th century. This paper will discuss some of the most influential sciences produced during the
late 19th century, including social Darwinism, eugenics, and phrenology, that were used to justify
British Imperialism and how they supported imperialism.
White is the supreme race, non White people are inferior, White people are the ones with all the
achievements in the world these ideologies and theories, though formally constructed in the late
1800s, were created from discussions long before. The idea of race superiority has existed since
the 15th and 16th centuries, early days of African slavery, but at that time it was supported by
religion and God. In the early 16th century, a Swiss

(YMSG) YMSG takes the symmetric approach. YMSG also uses client server architecture for
normal operations as well as voice chat service. YMSG voice traffic is routed by a centralized
voice chat server. Clients need only one type of server and then route all kinds of activities though
that particular server. While each has been designed and implemented separately, the total group
exhibits same characteristics with respect to network and system architecture. C. Microsoft
Messenger (MSN) MSN defines three types: dispatch, notification, and switch board. MSN also
uses a client server architecture for normal operations and peer to peer for voice chat
communication. Most IM systems have mechanisms for maintaining lists of friends. These are
typically called buddy lists, allow lists, and block lists. Most IM systems use centralized clusters to
provide presence services. Jennings et al. [5] presented Taxonomy of different features and

For many years Hogan has played a stage character role in the ring, on talk shows and in the public eye as an actor, professional wrestler and TV personality. According to Terry Bollea the person behind Hogan is a whole different person, and when he was suing Gawker Media it was not a wrestling angel but from Terry Bollea. Is Terry Bollea a public figure or a subject to limited purpose public figure; who has thrusted himself to the forefront of his so call character change (Trager, p.185). • 6. Campaign Finance Research Paper What Caused for the Reform of Campaign Finance? The reformers passed these provisions in response to corruption, which culminated in Watergate 1972 presidential campaign (Wright, 1003). The reformers found that these excesses were fueled by contributions collected for political gain. Their goal was to protect the political process from distortion and corruption(Wright, 1003). Money also caused for the reform of campaign finance. Money does facilitate communication of political preferences and prejudice (Wright, 1004). It also does influence the outcome of elections. For instance, the more money spent on behalf of the candidate gives the candidate a better chance of winning the election. However, money could also lead to corruption because ... As campaign finance regimes transitions away from regulating which actors can spend money in elections, the central policy and legal questions going forward will ask how much an actor may spend without triggering contribution limits or disclosure requirements (Johnstone, 218). However, the traditional campaign finance regime limits contributions and mandates disclosure by making it clear to individuals on which contributions are prohibited or spending must be disclosed (Johnstone, ... • 7. Essay swing kids When three friends are pressured by the government and each other, what choices will they make to strengthen or weaken their friendship? When people are pressured into things, does the character change? Is it a good or bad way. In the movie Swing Kids Peter, Thomas, and Aarvid made choices that reflect the strengths and weaknesses of their friendship. Peter is almost the head of there little group, and the choices he makes determines what everyone else thinks and does. For example, Peter is sent into the HJ s because of his bad behavior and not because he wants to join. He is an individual and does not do what everyone else tells him to do just like all the rest of his peers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thomas cannot remain loyal to his friends or even his own family who is closer than his friends. This shows that he would rather go with the crowd than rather trying to be an individual like Peter. In addition, at the end of the Movie Thomas beats up Peter because he was dancing as a Swing Kid. If Thomas was a true friend he would have just told him to leave and nothing would have happened but he just had to fight him. Thomas joined the HJ because of Peter but Thomas and Peter thought two different ways and they each went there separate ways also. As soon as Thomas joined the HJ s his look on everything changed dramatically but Peters look did not change it just made them grow farther apart. Aarvid is a person who speaks his mind and always tries to persuade people to think what he thinks is true. For example, he did not like that Thomas and Peter were in the HJ, and could not understand why they were in it. He should have listened to Peter when he told Aarvid that he had to join, Aarvid still thought that Peter and Thomas wanted to join on there own. He was also closed minded and would not listen to Peter even though he stuck up for him. In addition, when Aarvid comits suicide he takes an easy way out of things instead of standing up for what he thought was right. Aarvid should have stood up to the government and told them exactly what he thought. Aarvid, Thomas, and Peter should have tried to stay together even through ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Night Of The Broken Glass By Markus Zusak On November 9, 1933, Joseph Goebbels made a speech that initiated a crowd of violent Nazi activists who would burn down over 1,000 synagogues, and destroy over 7,000 businesses, thus creating Kristallnacht, the night of the broken glass . Following this act, was the beginning of the Holocaust. 6 months later, on May 10, 1933, members of the Nazi German Student Association, as well as other university students, burned close to 25,00 volumes of un German books to promote their nationwide campaign: Actions against the un German spirit . Markus Zusak uses the monstrosities of the Kristallnacht and Jewish book burning period in his book, The Book Thief as a reminder of the effects of the Nazi assaults on everyday life. In this essay, I will explain the reasoning behind the Nazi book burnings and what kind of books would have ended up in the fire that Leisel witnessed in The Book Thief. I will also argue that The Book Thief presents a kind of protest against the Nazi assault on knowledge and social consciousness through the celebration of reading and writing as a kind of power of human capabilities. As part of the Hitlerite attempt to control society, Nazi members organized book burning events in hopes to destroy all un German literacy. All material that was viewed representations of forward thinking that opposed the ideologies of Nazism were banished and eliminated. This act raises the question: what provoked the Nazi member to attack the literature of communist, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Idle No More Movement Friedrich Nietzsche is a German philosopher that has a great influence on Western philosophy. One of his works called On the Genealogy of Morals discusses an overlying theme of superiority and power as well as good and bad . This book discusses the difference that the power that superior people have compared the the weak and poor. Nietzsche exemplifies how the powerful seem to forget about issues that do not pertain to themselves where as the weak fight for the issues (Nietzsche, 2007, pp 14). This idea of the powerful overlooking the weak in On the Genealogy of Morals, directly relates to the Idle No More movement. The Idle No More movement is a social and political protest consisting of indigenous people voicing their struggles... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Canadian government has continually entered indigenous protected land to have diamond, gold, and oil mines, as well as run oil pipelines. These operations have given the Canadian government billions of profits. Unfortunately, only little of that profit gained by the Canadian government is given to the aboriginal peoples. I believe that that the fact that the Canadian government is profiting off of illegal activity and not sharing a large portion of the profits with the rightful owners of the resources is wrong. This action and lack of respect for the law goes directly against Nietzsche s idea of utilitarianism. Nietzsche describes the idea of utilitarianism as involving how we ought to be made of finer stuff than Utilitarianism (Lecture, 2016). He describes it as a pursuit of pleasure and good that has a positive and maximized effect for the majority of people (Lecture, 2016). This idea is how indigenous people live their life. They live their life so that the future generations can use the same land as they used it. If one person were to destroy the land for the pursuit of profit, then it should create wealth for the greater number of people. Christoff s article on Idle No More exemplifies this when Chief Spence says great riches are being taken from our land for the benefit of a few, including the government of Canada and Ontario, who receive large royalty payments, while we receive so little, outlines Chief ... • 10. The Difference Between Race And Racial Identity In The... Introduction Racial identity is a part of a socially constructed hierarchy that identifies human beings based on their ethnicity and ancestry. Essentially, the only difference between race and ethnicity is that race is determined by the dominant ethnicity. Race has been a relevant topic throughout history, and racial conflicts still exist in the modern world. Judgements based on racial identity create prejudice and bigotry. The susceptibility of people to believe others predispositions is what causes prejudice and bigotry to grow. Racial identity has inhibited individuals opportunities for centuries due to predispositions formed from a lack of credible knowledge. Perspective: African American African Americans have been perceived as inferior for centuries due to their race. African discrimination began with the Atlantic slave trade. Europeans bought Africans for the purpose of using them as slaves in the New World. According to the BBC, more than a million enslaved Africans died during just their transport to the Americas. Patrick Manning, a former Trinidad politician, estimated that ten million Africans entered the New World as slaves from 1500 1900. This early practice of discrimination encouraged the formation of later eras. The Atlantic slave trade took the right to life away from the Africans and took away their opportunities to experience the culture of their homeland. This inhibition was a direct cause for the lack of development seen in Africa throughout its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Conbolism In The Symbols Of The Hamburger Mary s Hamburger Mary s. According to Mrs. Young (2017), the rainbow can be displayed in the form of a sticker, tattoo, or flags (Young, personal communications, June 26, 2017). There is also a symbol of the LGBTQ community that is not as commonly known. Per Mrs. Young (2017), there is a yellow equal symbol with a blue background (Young, personal communications, June 26, 2017). I have seen this symbol becoming popular as a bumper sticker on automobiles. Mrs. Young (2017) also talked about the sexual symbols such as two women and two men, as well as the puns. The puns can include Gaydar and Born this way slogans (Young, personal communications, June 26, 2017). With artifacts being expressed openly other members of the subculture are aware of the shared subculture of which they are a part of. When members of the subculture find out about a new member it does not make them instant friends. According to Mrs. Young (2017), many people that are not a part of the subculture make the huge misconception that everyone that is in the subculture knows one another. Furthermore, those that are a part of the subculture make friends the same way as those outside of the subculture. Just because another person is LGBTQ does not make them instant friends (Young, personal communications, June 26, 2017). The LGBTQ is an increasingly known subculture. The members of the subculture not only have their own functions, but they also make an impact in our Colorado community. I have noticed the impact of the subculture becoming well known and is still on the rise of recognition. There are bars, parades, community gatherings, and even restaurants that are available to the public for those involved in LGBTQ. According to the Hamburger Mary s website (2017), Hamburger Mary s is a restaurant that is open to the LGBTQ community and the public. This is currently a Local restaurant located in Denver, Colorado, as well as, sixteen other locations in the United States (Hamburger Mary s, 2017). The restaurant chain is available in many locations, making it clear that the LGBTQ subculture is larger than Colorado alone. Furthermore, the restaurant is open to the public, not just the LGBTQ subculture. When I was at the Denver location every person ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Island s capital of San Juan, along with cities to the northeast, didn t even get a chance to fully recover from hurricane Irma s graze when the entire island was hit full force, by Maria as a category 5 hurricane only two weeks after. The devastation following Maria was unprecedented, wiping out power to the entire island for almost a week, along with water, internet and cell services, to name a few. It took four days to get water pumps to provide limited water supply to a small portion of the island. Almost a month after the hurricanes, only 13% of the island is receiving power from the grid, and about 60% has access to water. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result of current conditions, the airports are stuffed to capacity with people waiting for up to three days in the terminal for a flight off the island. The waterfront is still recovering, with many of the shops, restaurants and infrastructure in grave state of disrepair. Once a landmark in Old San Juan, cruise ship traffic has been non existent for weeks. Not all is chaos and dysfunction is Puerto Rico though. There is one aspect that has been bringing people together, raising spirits and inspiring change, and that is food. Particularly throughout Old San Juan, where food trucks are becoming more prominent than anything else in the landscape. Carts, trucks, and trailers with Christmas lights and boom boxes can be found all over, whether in parking lots or on the side of streets, they re serving crowds a variety of local favorites. A Puerto Rico original is the Mofongo de Ropa Vieja, which is a especially prepared unripe plantain, boiled in saltwater, shaped into a cup. Then, it is deep fried and filled with shredded beef, that has been marinated with red peppers, onions and spices absolutely delicious! Some of the smaller tracks and carts sell another local favorite called the Pincho; basically, your choice of meat on a stick, cooked over charcoal and served with Pan Sobao (Puerto Rican sweet bread) and hot sauce. • 13. Nuclear Waste After 30 years ever since Chernobyl, the U.S has been using nuclear energy has a type of fuel. To start, Chernobyl was one of the world s worst nuclear disaster. A fire caused an explosion to occur at the Chernobyl plant in Ukraine and forced more than 300,000 people to flee and caused radiation levels that are still harmful today. After this incident, the U.S continues to use nuclear energy as a type of fuel for buildings and more, but a meltdown or an explosion in the U.S is unlikely to happen because of how safe facilities are in the U.S. A meltdown will rarely happen, but what is worse is the accumulation of radioactive waste and the U.S have been ignoring the fact that this is a problem. The discovery of radioactive waste is important... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To start, this is why the discovery is important because if nuclear waste is left alone then it could kill or harm people. With the amount of nuclear waste the U.S keeps stored, it has enough to harm the whole entire country. The U.S holds about 70,000 metric tons of nuclear waste at 70 sites in 39 different states. In the article, Stop Dithering on Nuclear Waste, by the Editors, the author states, Some 70,000 metric tons of it are not stored at 70 sites scattered across 39 states (Editors,3). 39 states may not seem a lot, but 70,000 metrics tons of nuclear waste is not something to keep around; it is something extremely dangerous to keep around. What makes everything even worse is that this waste is being held underground in deep pools of water in dry casks made of steel and concrete and sits on reinforced pads. The author states, The waste, hot from radioactive decay, is held in deep pools of water or in dry casks of concrete and steel that sit on reinforced pads (Editors, 3). With the world experiencing terrorist attacks or earthquakes, these casks are bound to get damaged by bombs or earthquakes, which will crack the casks and force the nuclear waste to spill out. As a result, the nuclear waste will hurt the public as it spreads life threatening radiation out into the infected area. Not to mention that the waste can also cause fires and fires can spread for a while. This discovery is the reason why the U.S needs to find a different way of storing all of this nuclear waste. To end, the U.S needs to find a different way of storing all of this nuclear waste or else it will affect the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. The History Of Germany Day 1 By moving an army into Silesia, we gained their territory. Although they lack a supply center Germany need their country to expand. They will fail as a world power we do not take over surrounding vulnerable land. Our plan was that once we gained Silesia we would head east, to Warsaw. This plan is now compromised due to Russia s invasion of Warsaw before we could get to it. The Nation that I see as the largest threat is England. One of our outstanding spies (me) lied to England and told them we were Austria Hungary. In result they asked for an alliance and told us their entire plan about taking over Germany. England was going after our supply centers and they have other nations that are in on the plan. That is why me and my fellow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Day 2 Germany has advanced into Norway, If we keep our army there for the next spring turn we can possibly gain control. We have managed to keep control of our own land although we did not gain anything new. Our team decided we needed to keep a military force close to were austria hungary was heading towards, Resulting in us moving our army to the south of the country and our second army attacking. The Nations that are our current enemies are Austria hungary. We see them as a threat because we heard them conspiring against us. They are alliances with our other enemy, England so we are certain they can not be trusted. If Austria Hungary send any opposing forces we will have no choice to give them our entire attention. Our strategy is to know how long to keep an alliance. We do not want to avoid gaining land due to our alliances so we are keeping our options open. After Russia supports us in attacking Austria Hungary, we will not need them for anything else. If we keep our country s best interest in mind and stop worrying about treaties, we believe we can win. The Alliances we have formed are a triple alliance including Turkey and Russia. We have both countries willing to support us in our attacking against Austria hungary. Once they assist us in attacking we can assist them in their attack against England. This benefit us because we know England is after our supply centers. If this information ... It was Pyrite, known commonly as fool s gold and Iron Sulfide. One of the great ironies of this area was that Pyrite would prove more profitable than the real gold found in the Greenwood Gold Mine. The Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine began operations in 1889. The large number of patents in the mid nineteenth century and industrial growth after the Civil War made pyrite profitable. Sulfur was a necessary ingredient in several household products such as soap, textiles, paper, and fertilizer. When World War I began, the Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine contributed to the production of gunpowder. After World War I, the price of pyrite dropped. Nationwide, in many industries, workers struck. While there is no evidence of union activity, workers at the Cabin Branch Mine started to strike in 1920. They demanded a 50 cent raise. By this time, cheaper sources of sulfur were found overseas. A Summary Of The Homeland Security Act Of 2002 A Summary of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 ASCI 254 12/12/14 Ryan Hoffman Abstract The Homeland Security Act of 2002 is a far reaching act of legislation that was created in the wake of the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. The bill was sponsored by Richard Armey of Texas and received final congressional approval on November 19th, 2002, and signed into law by President George W. Bush on November 25th, 2002. The Homeland Security Act was one of the largest government responses to the terrorist attacks on 9/11, creating an entirely new department, the Department of Homeland Security under the Executive Branch. The Act also created hundreds of new positions within already existing government departments. The act has been amended a multitude of times since its original passage and over two different Presidential Administrations. Many citizens are still split on the decision whether or not the Homeland Security Act has helped make Americans safer, or if it was the beginning of many government intrusions of citizen s privacy. Either way, it is an act of legislation that is here to stay, and as citizens it is important to understand it and how it affects the lives of American citizens. In the wake of September 11th, 2001, Americans both young and old were in desperate need for answers: Who did this? Why did they do this? How could this happen? The most important question, though, was: How do we prevent this from happening again? Then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Adverse Possession Is A Method By Student s Name ADVERSE POSSESSION By Student s Name Code + Course Name Institution of Learning City, State Date ADVERSE POSSESSION Adverse possession is a method by which a trespasser gains legal title to a property by occupying it for some period. This kind of ownership may not be necessarily intentional, it can occur as a mistake where a deed may be faulty. Both personal and real property can be acquired by adverse possession. However, ownership of property for public use for instance school property or a highway cannot be lost through adverse possession. The history of adverse possession can be traced back to the 12th century. During this time, a squatter could prove his right to ownership of property by the act of possession. Gradually, the law has been seen to favour the squatters as opposed to the landowners. The law required that the squatter had proof that he had dispossessed the property exclusively for 60 years in order to bar a landlord s actions. There were further developments in the Statute of Limitations restricting other rights of the landlord in 1639. A landlord s title would expire after a squatter had dispossessed a property for 20 years exclusively. Further amendments reduced the required time period from 20 to 12 years of exclusive dispossession. The earliest codification in English law of adverse possession was the Statute of Westminster in 1275 which limited actions towards recovery of land by barring the real owners from establishing claims that were ... Erotic Art, furthering this point, when defined by Peter Webb in his book The Erotic Arts is art on a sexual theme related specifically to emotions rather than merely actions, and sexual depictions which are justifiable on aesthetic grounds . • 37. Invasion Of Privacy Say Cheese Surveillance cameras are found in places all around the globe. As these cameras become more popular, people have become concerned with their own privacy. Some common locations of these cameras are in stores, restaurants, on streets, and in home security systems. When a crime is committed, there can be verbal evidence provided by bystanders, but there is not more absolute proof than the proof that is provided by these cameras. Even though some people argue that surveillancecameras are an invasion of privacy, they definitely do more help than harm. In 1986, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act was passed. This gave law enforcement the power to use video surveillance technology. Ever since this was passed, surveillance cameras have saved many lives and helped solve many crimes. One example of this is the bombing of the world trade center. After the event, the FBI was able to use video surveillance to collect the evidence that was needed to convict someone who was involved in the heinous crime. It is possible that if not for the use of these cameras, this conviction may have never happened. Nowadays screens are everywhere in young children s lives. The American average of video games played and devices used by children on a normal school day is over four and a half hours! Is all of this technology helpful to young children? With some kids shows like Sesame Street, kids can learn from the film almost as well as preschool can. Like preschool, Sesame Street doesn t focus on curriculum work and games, the popular show also teaches kids life lessons like how to listen, how to be kinder, and other non intellectual tutorings. People may think that Sesame Street is not as social as going to preschool or daycare, so it is bad, but school is not the key place of social interaction. Friends meet all over the place like church or at the store. Another claim that tries to prove Sesame Street is helpful is that the learning and benefits do not last for a long time. That is not the point Sesame Street tries to make, otherwise they would have based the show on something older children would like. The reason that the benefits of the show are not long term are because the kids who watch Sesame Street grow out of it and no longer like or prosper from the show. Also, the teachings in the show only go to a certain grade level, after that, it is the same level of learning. The purpose of Sesame Street was to help kids before preschool, and it has. Biography of Edgar Allan Poe Essay Biography of Edgar Allan Poe Edgar Allan Poe was born at 33 Hollis Street, Boston, Mass., on January 19, 1809, the son of poverty stricken actors, David, and Elizabeth (born Arnold) Poe. His enunciation seemed to be very distinct and articulate; and his face and person are much in his favor. His size is of that pitch well fitted for general action if his talents should be suited to sock and buskin. . . . • 41. Corporate Influence And Political Corruption In today s society many Americans believe that there is corruption within politics. According to Jeffrey Milyo author of Corporate Influence and Political Corruption, a nationally representative opinion survey done in 2008 states that, a little more than 50 percent of respondents agreed that corruption in the federal government is widespread and an extremely serious concern, while fewer than five percent considered corruption in the federal government to be rare or not a concern (Konisky, Milyo, and Richardson, 2008). This leads many Americans to believe that politics is an inherently corrupt activity (Milyo, 2014). This of option of course can be looked at from many different perspectives. With many major corporations contributing to political campaigns; it is assumed that these politicians are being bought to further benefit the corporation s agenda. Therefore, the perspective of Ethical Egoism; contributing to these campaigns is deemed justified since it would further benefit the company. A politician who invokes an ethical egoism view would believe that their actions of accepting contributions from a major cooperation would be justified since it helps them achieve their goal of entering their chosen political position. Since the politician is achieving what they wish then to them, their actions are justified. Compared to previous years of imperialism, this period was focused primarily on benefitting the colonial power, Britain, instead of establishing new settlements. Even though the British imperialism of the late 19th century/early 20th century brought great wealth, knowledge, and technological advancements to the country, it was at the expense of many other people in the empire. Britain, and Europe as a whole, had to find a way to justify their superiority over these other countries subsequently leading scientists decided to use their background and knowledge to create disciplines that had racist ideologies at the root. These pseudo sciences were constructed to rationalize the imperialism during the 19th century. This paper will discuss some of the most influential sciences produced during the late 19th century, including social Darwinism, eugenics, and phrenology, that were used to justify British Imperialism and how they supported imperialism.
