Collaboration skills and critical thinking skills are two real-life competencies in the 21st century. These two skills are believed to be related to one another. However, research on the magnitude of the correlation between the two skills is rarely investigated. Empowerment of these two skills cannot be separated from the learning model. This study analyzes the relationship between collaboration and critical thinking skills through the ethnoECLIPSE learning model and conventional learning. This correlation study involved 240 biology students from various universities in Special Region of Yogyakarta and Central Java Provinces, Indonesia. Collaboration skills data was obtained through peer-to-peer rating scales, while critical thinking skills data was collected through essay tests. Data was analyzed by using simple linear regression. The research results showed collaboration skills significantly correlate with students’ critical thinking skills. The contribution of collaboration to critical thinking skills is higher when applying the ethnoECLIPSE learning model (86.9%) than in conventional learning (48.2%). Then, the regression equation formed from both learning is parallel but not coincident. The main purpose of this study was to examine the extent to which cooperative learning strategies develop students’ critical thinking skills in History in some Secondary and High Schools in Buea Municipality. More specifically, it was aimed at looking for answers to the following three research questions How can Student Team Achievement Division Technique improves students’ critical thinking skills in History How can the Jigsaw Technique develops students’ critical thinking skills in History How can Group Investigation Technique develop students’ critical thinking skills in History The study employed mixed methods in the research design using quantitative and qualitative approaches. Quantitative data were collected through a record sheet group discussions and an unstructured questionnaire constituted the strategy used to collect qualitative data. Questionnaires were completed by ten teachers drawn from the two Secondary and High Schools in Buea Municipality. 150 students also filled the questionnaires. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the quantitative data while qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis. This finding revealed that Student Team Achievement Division Technique improves students’ critical thinking skills in History. The experimental group significantly performed better than the control group. The findings also revealed that the Jigsaw technique eases learning, creates room for better understanding, facilitates the exposure to ideas as they could be acquired from peers, encourages hard work, high team spirit, encourages further research and improves performance. The findings also revealed that the group investigation technique improves students’ performance in History. Some barriers to cooperative learning strategies were identified such as the constant evolution of cooperative learning as a threat due to the fact that cooperative learning is constantly changing there is the possibility that teachers may become confused and lack complete understanding of the method. Teachers implementing cooperative learning strategies may face resistance and hostility from students who believe that they are being held back by their slower teammates or by students who are less confident and feel that they are being ignored or demeaned by their team. The teachers proposed some strategies to address the identified barriers. One major recommendation is that as the teachers continue to use this method, they become more experienced and can easily adapt to its changing trend. This study was aimed at determining the students’ achievement of Social Science at the Fifth Grade
of State Primary School Bukittinggi, West Sumatera. This study was based on the problem that the students did
not reach the standard minimum criteria score which was determined 70. The classroom action research was
used in this study by using Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model. The finding showed that there was an increase
on the teachers’ teaching skills and students’ achievement. The average score of teachers’ teaching skills in the
first cycle was 2.6, the second cycle was 2.8 and the third cycle was 3.4 with a very good category. The
students’ score was increased steadily from 67.9% (first cycle), to 75% (cycle II) and the final 92.5% (cycle III).

The opportunities education provides to develop the student’s ability to use cognitive skills to understand and solve problems whose solution is not obvious and the student’s willingness to engage in problem solving as a constructive and thinking citizen are essential for the realization of the approach from transversal competences to transversal personality. The study puts an emphasis on exploring the conditions for the development of transversal competence for solving educational-and-cognitive problems that is portable through different learning contents, different activities and ages. The highlights of pupils’ cognitive development have been used as a basis for turning them into subjects of problem-based training aiming at the development of transversal competence to solve problems. The here developed task system for solving integrated problems in science education allows diagnosing the level of competence of cognitive-learning problem solving as transversal. Achieving this result in school education is directly linked to the teacher’s competence to design a proactive educational environment i.e. to the requirements for the training of pedagogical specialists in existing conditions.

Techniques of collecting data used were observation, interview, and documentation. Observation was conducted to observe the learning process using Think Pair Share-type of cooperative learning, interview to find out the impression and the impact the students experience, and documentation to find out the group’s work. The experimental group significantly performed better than the control group. The findings also revealed that the Jigsaw technique eases learning, creates room for better understanding, facilitates the exposure to ideas as they could be acquired from peers, encourages hard work, high team spirit, encourages further research and improves performance. The findings also revealed that the group investigation technique improves students’ performance in History. Some barriers to cooperative learning strategies were identified such as the constant evolution of cooperative learning as a threat due to the fact that cooperative learning is constantly changing there is the possibility that teachers may become confused and lack complete understanding of the method. Teachers implementing cooperative learning strategies may face resistance and hostility from students who believe that they are being held back by their slower teammates or by students who are less confident and feel that they are being ignored or demeaned by their team. The teachers proposed some strategies to address the identified barriers. One major recommendation is that as the teachers continue to use this method, they become more experienced and can easily adapt to its changing trend. This study was aimed at determining the students’ achievement of Social Science at the Fifth Grade
of State Primary School Bukittinggi, West Sumatera. This study was based on the problem that the students did
not reach the standard minimum criteria score which was determined 70. The classroom action research was
used in this study by using Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model. The finding showed that there was an increase
on the teachers’ teaching skills and students’ achievement. The average score of teachers’ teaching skills in the
first cycle was 2.6, the second cycle was 2.8 and the third cycle was 3.4 with a very good category. The
students’ score was increased steadily from 67.9% (first cycle), to 75% (cycle II) and the final 92.5% (cycle III).
This suggests that the use of Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model improved students’ achievement of Social

His research found 9 categories of instructional strategies that positively influence student learning, including identifying similarities and differences, summarizing and note-taking, cooperative learning, setting objectives and providing feedback, and others. Marzano's research challenged earlier findings that student achievement was mostly determined by factors outside of schools' control, such as socioeconomic status.

The transversal competence for problem solving in cognitive learning
The opportunities education provides to develop the student’s ability to use cognitive skills to understand and solve problems whose solution is not obvious and the student’s willingness to engage in problem solving as a constructive and thinking citizen are essential for the realization of the approach from transversal competences to transversal personality. The study puts an emphasis on exploring the conditions for the development of transversal competence for solving educational-and-cognitive problems that is portable through different learning contents, different activities and ages. The highlights of pupils’ cognitive development have been used as a basis for turning them into subjects of problem-based training aiming at the development of transversal competence to solve problems. The here developed task system for solving integrated problems in science education allows diagnosing the level of competence of cognitive-learning problem solving as transversal. Achieving this result in school education is directly linked to the teacher’s competence to design a proactive educational environment i.e. to the requirements for the training of pedagogical specialists in existing conditions.

Cooperative learning model can be an alternative to bridge the difficulty the students encounter. The objective of research was to identify the impact of Think Pair Share type of Cooperative learning model on mathematics learning in elementary school. This study was a descriptive qualitative research. The subject of research was the fifth graders of three elementary schools in Karangpandan Sub District. Techniques of collecting data used were observation, interview, and documentation. Observation was conducted to observe the learning process using Think Pair Share-type of cooperative learning, interview to find out the impression and the impact the students experience, and documentation to find out the group’s work.
