They have won 36 straight LSC matches dating back to 2012 and 19 straight matches this season. West Texas A&M, Texas Woman's, Tarleton State, Angelo State, and Texas A&M-Kingsville have earned spots in the 2014 LSC Championship tournament hosted by West Texas A&M from November 13-15. LSC VOLLEYBALL
West Texas A&M claimed the program’s 19th Lone Star Conference Championship and ran their overall record
to 27-3 with a perfect 14-0 LSC mark with wins over Angelo State and Tarleton State. The wins extend WT’s LSC
win streak to 36 matches dating back to the 2012 season while running their season win streak to 19 matches.
The Lady Buffs will host the 2014 LSC Championship on Nov. 13-14-15 at the WTAMU Fieldhouse “The Box” in
Canyon.
WT, Texas Woman’s, Tarleton State, Angelo State, Texas A&M-Kingsville have each earned spots in the
championship field. The remaining three berths and seeding will be determined this week.
LSC volleyball teams are 138-102 overall this season. The squads are currently 15-12 combined versus
Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, and 20-13 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other
leagues in the NCAA South Central Region.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Lauren Bevan, West Texas A&M University, SR, Ventura, California, Buena HS
Bevan continued to pace the powerful WT offense this past week as the Lady Buffs claimed the program’s 19th
Lone Star Conference title with road wins over Angelo State and Tarleton State to move to 27-3 (14-0 LSC). The
Ventura, California native registered 39 kills in eight sets to average 4.88 per frame with just nine attack errors
on 115 swings to hit .261. Bevan had a career night on Friday as the senior registered 25 kills on 85 swings to hit
.224 as WT came back from a two set deficit to top rival Angelo State in a five set thriller.
DEFENSIVE
Shelby Wilt, Angelo State University, SR, Dalhart, Texas, Dalhart HS
Wilt averaged 8.55 digs per set and finished with 94 digs in a three-match week last week where the Belles
went 2-1. Wilt had 26 digs in a sweep of UTPB, followed it with a 36-dig night in a five-set loss to WT and then
had a ridiculous 34 digs in a sweep of ENMU on Saturday. The 34 digs ranks third in NCAA Division II this season
in three sets. Wilt leads ASU with 479 digs this season and is averaging 5.51 digs per set this season. Entering
the final week of the regular season of her senior season, Wilt has 2,341 digs in her record-setting career.
SETTER
Kameryn Hayes, West Texas A&M University, SR, Cypress, Texas, Cy-Fair HS
Hayes continued to guide the potent Lady Buff offense this past weekend as WT claimed the program’s 19th
Lone Star Conference Championship with road wins over rivals Angelo State and Tarleton State to move to 27-3
(14-0 LSC) on the season. Hayes dished out 63 assists on the weekend to average 7.88 per frame while tallying
16 kills (2.00/set) to hit .212 on the weekend with eight total blocks. The Cypress native registered a double-double
on Friday night in San Angelo with 39 assists and 21 digs in the five set win over the rival Belles.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Amy Davault, Texas A&M-Commerce, had a match-high 19 kills in the loss to Texas A&M-Kingsville. Davault
had a dominating third set with six of her 19 kills coming in that set.
Hailey Roberts, Tarleton State, continued her dominant debut season last week with 24 kills in six sets on a
.255 hitting percentage. The freshman from Cedar Park led the team with 24 kills to just 11 errors in 51 attack
attempts. She also tallied a team-high six service aces and added 18 digs and four blocks en route to a team-best
32.0 points in six sets.
Mallory Blauser, Angelo State, took her team-leading season kills total to 333 after finishing last week with
42 kills for the Belles in a three-match week. Blauser opened the week with 12 kills against UTPB in a non-conference
match on Tuesday and then provided 23 kills in a tough five-set loss to West Texas A&M on Friday.
She finished the week with a seven-kill performance in a sweep of ENMU on Saturday. She also had nine block
assists during the week and finished with a .216 attacking percentage.
Elizabeth Pennington, Texas Woman’s, helped the Pioneers to two five-set wins last week and extend the win
streak to eight games. She led the team with 38 kills, .411 hitting percentage and 12 total blocks. Pennington
posted 20 kills, three service aces and eight blocks in a win at Southeastern Oklahoma State on Wednesday

A&M-Kingsville on Saturday. On the season she
continues to lead the team with 317 kills, .343 hitting
percentage, 38 service aces and 122 total blocks.
Krystal Faison, Texas A&M-Kingsville, posted three
double-doubles as the Javelinas went 3-1 in four
games this week... she reached double figures in kills
in the week’s final three games, including 16 at Texas
Woman’s... for the week, she averaged 2.93 kills/set,
3.53 digs/set and 3.27 points/set.
Sarah Garfield, Midwestern State, erupted for
47 kills to help Midwestern State take two of three
matches last week claiming wins over non-conference
foes Southern Nazarene and Southwestern Oklahoma.
The sophomore from Wichita Falls averaged a team-high
3.62 kills per set while hitting a stellar .297 over
the there-match stretch. Garfield slammed down
a career-high 22 kills while committing five errors
in 47 attacks (.362) to go along with six total blocks
Thursday against Southern Nazarene. She followed
the effort with an 18-kill, 2-error performance (.432)
Friday against Cameron.
Lacie Jessup, Texas A&M-Commerce, was all of the
court on Friday Night in the loss to Kingsville making
impressive digs that led to points for the Lions. She
finished the set with 19 digs an average of 4.75.
Morgan Wilson, Texas Woman’s, led the team on
defense with 46 digs to help the Pioneers win two
five-set games and extend the winning streak to eight
games. She posted a perfect 1.000 in serve received
percentage on 49 attempts in the two games. Wilson
had 16 digs on the road at Southeastern Oklahoma
State on Wednesday before posting 30 against Texas
A&M-Kingsville on Saturday.
Jasmyne Brown, Tarleton State, averaged two
blocks per set in Tarleton’s six sets last weekend,
including a team-high seven blocks in the TexAnns’
win over Eastern New Mexico Friday night. The senior
from San Antonio blocked 12 shots in six sets and
added three kills and two digs.
Stephanie Johns, Texas A&M-Kingsville, posted
17 blocks as the Javelinas went 3-1 this week... the
senior middle blocker capped off the weekend with
14 blocks against LSC foes A&M-Commerce and Texas
Woman’s University... she finished with four solo
blocks and 13 assisted and ranks second all-time in
school history in assisted blocks.
Kat Molloy, Midwestern State, flashed a solid all-around
game to key Midwestern State to wins in
two of three matches last week with victories over
Southern Nazarene and Southwestern Oklahoma.
The senior from Seattle posted her first two double-doubles
of the season finishing with 11 kills and 21
digs against Southern Nazarene before going for 16
kills and 18 digs against Southwestern Oklahoma.
Molloy was also a force at the net posting three total
blocks against Southern Nazarene and Cameron. For
the week, she averaged 2.54 kills, 4.38 digs and 0.54
blocks per set.
Alexa Johnson, Angelo State, provided 141 assists
and 27 digs for the Belles during their three matches.
Johnson averaged 12.82 assists per set, including
establishing a new career-high with 60 assists in a
five-set loss to West Texas A&M last Friday. Johnson
has 878 assists this season and is averaging 11.40
assists per set.
Casey Klobedans, Texas A&M-Kingsville, surpassed
40 assists three times this week and finished the four-game
week with 172 assists, eight service aces and
two double-doubles... the freshman averaged 11.47
assists/set, 3.00 digs/set, and added 16 kills (.325
hitting percentage) and two blocks as the Hogs went
3-1... at TWU, she finished with 60 assists and 21 digs.
Joey Redwine, Texas Woman’s, ran a 5-1 offense
and helped the Pioneers to two five-set wins last
week. With the two wins TWU extended its win
streak to eight games. Redwine had 47 assists in a
win at Southeastern Oklahoma State on Wednesday
and then had 51 against Texas A&M-Kingsville on
Saturday. She also had 11 kills, 25 digs and five total
blocks in the two games while the team posted a .213
hitting percentage.
Courtney Tate, Texas A&M-Commerce, led the
Lions with 34 assists on Friday night. Constantly
putting Lion hitters in good positions to get kills in a
tough 3-1 loss.
Emily Medlin, Tarleton State, led the TexAnns with
39 assists last week, including 24 against West Texas
A&M. The freshman setter lifted the Tarleton offense
to a .228 hitting percentage. She also added six digs
and a service ace for the week.

Angelo State
The Belles went 2-1 last weekend with sweeps of
Texas-Permian Basin and Eastern New Mexico and
a five-set loss to West Texas A&M. ASU improved
to 10-2 at the Junell Center with the results and
will finish off the regular season this weekend with
a LSC match against Tarleton State on Friday and a
non-conference match against Lubbock Christian
on Saturday. The Belles are being led this season
by Mallory Blauser’s 333 kills, Alexa Johnson’s 878
assists and Shelby Wilt who has 479 digs this season.
Abbie Lynn has added 218 kills and Zoey Hanrahan
leads the team with 82 blocks.

Midwestern State
Midwestern State claimed wins in two of
three matches last week including victories of
non-conference foes Southern Nazarene and
Southwestern Oklahoma State... MSU snapped a
10-match road losing streak with a 3-1 win over
Southwestern Oklahoma Monday in Weatherford.
It was their first road victory since rallying for a five-set
win at Dallas Baptist on Sept. 9... The Mustangs
equaled a school record with their 11th five-set
match of the season rallying from a two-set deficit
to claim a 3-2 win over Southern Nazarene Thursday
night in Wichita Falls... MSU last competed in 11
five-set matches in 1992 and is 4-7 when extending
matches to the limit this season... Sophomore Sarah
Garfield averaged 3.62 kills per set for the week
including a career-best 22-kill effort in MSU’s five
set win over Southern Nazarene... Garfield followed
with her ninth 10-kill performance of the season
with 18 Friday night at Cameron... Garfield notched
three solo blocks to move past Molly Truelove (32 in
1995) and Lauren Bayer (32 in 2010) into eighth place
on MSU’s single-season solo blocks chart with 34...
Senior defensive specialist Casey Fletcher notched
5.08 digs per set while delivering her 13th and 14th
matches with at least 20 digs finishing with 20 against
Cameron and 30 at Southwestern Oklahoma...
Fletcher moved past former standout setter Allison
Schreiber (1,432 digs from 2005-08) into sixth on the
school’s all-time digs list with 1,440 and needs 21
pass Ashley Godwin (1,460 from 2003-06)... With 66
total digs last week, Fletcher upped her season total
to 560 -- only Kiara Jordan (twice) and Shay Velasquez
(three times) have had more digs in a single season
for MSU... Senior Kat Molloy erupted for her first two
double-doubles of the season last week with 11 kills
and 21 digs against Southern Nazarene then had 16
kills and 18 digs at Southwestern Oklahoma... Molloy
closed the week averaging 2.54 kills, 4.38 digs and

Tarleton State split a pair of matches with the one win
coming against Eastern New Mexico to secure the
fifth 20-win season in Mary Schindler’s head coaching
career. Prior to her arrival in 2005, Tarleton had just
five 20-win seasons since 1976. The TexAnns were
ranked No. 6 in the region last week, which is the third
time in school history and the highest seed Tarleton
has ever reached in the rankings. Also, freshman
Hailey Roberts was the Sports Imports/AVCA Division
II National Player of the Week last week, becoming
the first TexAnn to ever win the award.

The Javelinas went 3-1 overall this week, capping off
the four-game week nearly upsetting Texas Woman’s

The TWU volleyball team won both games last week
and extended its win streak to eight games. The
Pioneers are now 18-7 overall and 11-3 in the Lone
Star Conference. Freshman Elizabeth Pennington led
the team with 38 kills, .411 hitting percentage and 12
total blocks. Senior Morgan Wilson was the leader on
defense with 46 digs while junior Joey Redwine had a
team-best 98 assists. In the win against Texas A&M-Kingsville
on Saturday sophomore Mallory Kuechle
had a career day as she posted a game and career-high
21 kills. She also had 10 digs to record her fourth
straight double-double. On the season Pennington
continues to lead the team with 317 kills, .343 hitting
percentage, 38 service aces and 122 total blocks.
West Texas A&M
The #24 Lady Buffs claimed the program’s 19th Lone
Star Conference Championship this past weekend as
they ran their overall record to 27-3 with a perfect
14-0 LSC mark with wins over Angelo State and
Tarleton State. The wins extend WT’s LSC win streak
to 36 matches dating back to the 2012 season while
running their season win streak to 19 matches. The
Lady Buffs have earned the right to host the 2014
LSC Tournament on Nov. 13-14-15 at the WTAMU
Fieldhouse “”The Box”” in Canyon. The Lady Buffs
will wrap-up their non-conference schedule on
Tuesday night as they head to Bethany, Oklahoma
to take on the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene
with first serve set for 7 p.m. at the Sawyer Center.
WT will conclude the regular season this weekend
as they host Texas Woman’s on Friday night (7 p.m.)
followed by a Senior Day matchup with Texas A&M-Commerce
on Saturday afternoon (2 p.m.) in Canyon.
