Every day on the radio, there is bound to be a love song playing somewhere. These types of songs
can seem upbeat and happy, but that is just the music playing behind the lyrics. The music in these
songs are written in a major key which make the song sound lively and cheerful. Even with the
darkest meaning behind the lyrics, the music can give off different perspectives. Many people
believe that love songs are about love but in reality some of those songs have a depressing story
behind them. Many love songs are not love songs at all if one examines the lyrics.

It is incredible that you can make such a jazzy and fun song and put a dark and depressing twist on it
by just controlling the lyrics. I love all kind of music and when I mean all kind, I really mean all
kind. The reason for why I listen to a song can vary depending on the situation, mood, etc. For this
particular song, I was introduced to this song by my friend showing me the song while we were just
hanging out and she thought that I would love the song. And the thing is that I did love the song and
decided to put the song on repeat for the rest of the week. At first, I enjoyed it for the beat and the

lie because words have the power to build someone up or bring someone to tears. This is why lyrics
are one of the most important parts of songwriting. The lyrics give the song meaning. Some songs,
however, have more meaning than others do, and the value of their lyrics varies based on the
listener. "Hotel Ceiling" by Rixton is meaningful song because the song shows personal hardships of
getting the news that a loved one has died, something no one should ever have to go through. In
"Hotel Ceiling," the singer sees on the news that his friend or girlfriend, one of the most important
people in his life, had been killed. For example, in the first part of the song, he says "on the TV they

today I felt a switch in my veins meaning that today something irregular happened. Then it says I
used to be a shadow implying that someone can now see him which is Clary who can not only see

I picked this song as music that would play in the movie when Jace and Clary go into the flower

In every breakup leaving the relationship is not the hard part, it's the past put into the relationship
that's hard to let go. Shawn and Taylor use various symbols and imagery to illustrate what goes and
comes out of leaving a relationship. Their lyrics not only contain symbols and imagery, but also both
share their different views of ending a relationship. Shawn's song "Stitches," talks about a teenage
boy getting over his first breakup verses Taylor's song "Clean," goes in the direction of a girl that

I chose this song based on the kind of person I am. The song represents me by thinking twice,

Inspiration can strike at any time, so always be prepared to document your idea. This is where the
recording device comes into play. The Inspiration usually comes in the form of a melody. When a
melody hits you, its important to record it as soon as possible. There's nothing worse than coming up

document it, so be prepared! Don't be afraid to hum the melody into your recording device, or sing it

English Song Critique
The first goal I set for the second quarter was to "Write and record an English song." While I did not
completely finish a song, I developed instrumentals, lyrics, and melody lines for two songs.
Interestingly, I brainstormed the ideas for both projects while walking my dog, Bandit.
The first, which I have tentatively titled "Melody," started with me humming a rhythmic piano part,
then a melody line. Next, I developed the instrumental in GarageBand, with an electric guitar part as

Listening to the lyrics of your favorite song you automatically start to have a connection with that
song. Then the song starts to represent you and your life because of the lyrics. Some songs show
about being a fighter,having freedom, or just being you. There's a billion of songs out there and
there's a billion of people who connect with those songs. Usually the most common reason why
some songs represent people is by their past experience. For me some songs represent me because I
decided to follow my dreams,living in the moment, and get right back up.
Being a teenager in high school you dream about having the same career as your friend or going to
the same college as them but for me and my friends it was reverse. They were more comfortable
performing in a band, or acting,and singing. While I was more comfortable standing there and give a
speech than they were. But being a shy high schooler you rather be with your friends than by
