Essay For You
Crafting an essay on the topic "Essay For You" presents a unique set of challenges that intertwine
complexity and self-reflection. At first glance, the subject might appear deceptively
straightforward, but delving into its intricacies reveals a myriad of layers that demand thoughtful
exploration. The inherent paradox lies in the dual nature of the assignment – it's both about
the self and the broader concept of 'you.'
The challenge arises from the need to strike a delicate balance between personal introspection
and universal relevance. One must navigate the fine line between sharing personal experiences
and insights while ensuring that the essay resonates with a wider audience. This demands a
nuanced understanding of the self, coupled with the ability to connect those experiences to
broader themes that transcend individuality.
Moreover, addressing the theme of an essay tailored for the reader involves a level of empathy
and insight into the expectations, preferences, and perspectives of an unknown audience. It
requires the writer to step into the shoes of potential readers, anticipating their reactions and
tailoring the content to engage and captivate.
The difficulty further amplifies when considering the vast scope of interpretations that the theme
allows. "For You" is an expansive canvas that could encompass a plethora of subtopics, ranging
from personal anecdotes to philosophical reflections. This requires meticulous planning and a
clear, coherent structure to prevent the essay from becoming an erratic exploration without a
unifying thread.
Ultimately, the challenge lies not only in writing about oneself but also in transcending individual
experiences to create a piece that is universally relatable. It demands a fusion of introspection,
empathy, and craftsmanship to navigate the complexities of the topic effectively.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the theme "Essay For You" is a task that requires a delicate
dance between self-disclosure and broader relevance. It demands a keen understanding of the
self, an empathetic connection with an audience, and the ability to weave a narrative that
seamlessly merges personal experiences with universal truths. Successfully navigating this
intricate balance is the hallmark of a well-crafted essay on this challenging topic.

Art From Baroque Period Through The Postmodern Era

Art from Baroque Period through the Postmodern Era
Renaissance art history began as civic history; it was an expression of civic pride.
The first such history was Filippo Villani s De origine civitatis Florentiae et eiusdem
famosis civibus, written about 1381 82. Florentine artists revived an art that was
almost dead, Villani asserts, just as Dante had restored poetry after its decline in the
Middle Ages. The revival was begun by Cimabue and completed by Giotto, who
equalled the ancient painters in fame and even surpassed them in skill and talent.
After Giotto came his followers, Stefano, Taddeo Gaddi, and Maso, uomini illustri all,
who, together with notable jurists, poets, musicians, theologians, physicians, orators,
and others, made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These texts are among the handful that treat art in the early Florentine Renaissance
and are, therefore, precious testimony from the early years of Renaissance art
history. While rare for being texts on art, they are of a type, however, that was
common in Renaissance literature. They belong to a genre or category in which are
found some of the most characteristic texts of Renaissance humanism. Other of the
books in this category are by such writers as Bruni, Salutati, and Manetti, books with
which all students of the Renaissance are familiar. They treat broad moral and
philosophical issues, but, as in the accounts of visual art, only insofar as they concern
the city of Florence. And scholars reasonably have asked why there was such a
preoccupation with Florence at this time. One of those who did so was Hans Baron
and his answer has been at the center of discussions of this question since the 1950s.
Baron linked the focus on Florence during the years around 1400 to a struggle over
Florentine independence that began in 1390 with a declaration of war by Milan and
ended only in 1454, when Milan accepted the independent status of the Florentine
Republic. These events, he proposed, explain the direction taken by Florentine
political speculation at this time, particularly the stress on republican ideals of liberty
and civic involvement; they gave rise to a
Preventing Spinal Cord Injury Essay examples
Pressure ulcers (PrUs) are a high risk, high volume, high cost problem for persons
with spinal cord injury (SCI). Approximately 273,000 persons are living with SCI
in the United States today and approximately 12,000 new injuries occur per year
[1]. Persons with SCI are at extreme risk for developing PrUs due to lack of
sensation, immobility, moisture, and multiple other risk factors.2 Prevalence for
PrUs in persons with SCI ranges from 14 32%, and recurrence rates have been
reported to range from 31 79%.3 PrUs account for approximately one third of all VA
SCI admissions and over half of all hospital days for veterans with SCI.3 The cost to
manage one full thickness ulcer can be as much as $70,0008 [JRRD paper] and over
$17 billion is spent... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
See Figure 1 for an example of an individual suspended in a universal sling. Although
universal slings are the most common, many others have been designed to ambulate
patients, to reposition them in bed, or to lift appendages. Furthermore, current
nursing practice is to use universal slings and lifts for all transfers and transports
involving dependent patients, as taught by practice algorithms in collaboration with
the American Nursing Association.14
The impetus behind this research was the observation that patients are frequently left
sitting on their slings while in their wheelchairs, for long periods of time, which may
interfere with the pressure reducing properties of the wheelchair cushion, placing the
patient at risk for PrU development. This research aims to examine whether patient
handling slings might contribute to pressure ulcer development in vulnerable
populations, specifically persons with SCI. No evidence to date has been published
that links the use of slings and lifts to pressure ulceration, and no literature exists
which describes the interface pressures developed during suspension from patient
handling slings. The main goals of this study were to describe and quantify risks
associated with
Victorian Epilogue
Epilogue: It was a beautiful, full moon. The sort of moon that shines down rays of
light illuminating the darkened streets. Not a breath of wind stirred in the darkness.
The night was warm but the girl felt chilled to the bone. She hurried along; bare feet
padding silently through the dark alleyways, hoping her parents wouldn t catch her
out this late. She knew she shouldn t stay at Max s house too late but he somehow
always talked her into it. She speed walked through the narrow streets, feeling like
the old Victorian houses were looking down at her with accusing glares. Yes she
thought I am almost there! As she rounded the last corner and saw her house,

Truthfully Justin didn t blame him, she had chosen the scariest place in town, a 43
year old abandoned school, half rotted and falling apart. They hurried to the
school, Justin s feet shuffling lazily on the ground. He was exhausted. He had
gone out to a party the night before and just wanted to sleep. But Adam wouldn t
allow it. Hurry up whispered Adam again, furious this time. Justin moved a bit
faster changing his shuffle to a fast walk. They arrived at the school. It looked like
an old church, something out of medieval times. The dark buildings all covered in
moss. The floor had weeds sprouting out of the cracks, pieces of rubble lying all
over the place. It was already pretty scary at day but at night it was terrifying. They
walked among the dark walls, trying to imagine what this place would have once
looked like. So, do you know the reason the school had to shut down? Adams voice
sliced through the silent night like a knife. Justin started at the sudden sound. What?
No Whispered back Justin,
The Heritage and Science of Moonshine
The Heritage and Science of Moonshine David Hinson Mount Olive College The
Heritage and Science of Moonshine Moonshine has long existed as a secret part of
American culture. Most of us have probably heard of the existence of Moonshine. It
is likely that some of us have had the good fortune of running across a batch here or
there. In America Moonshining is somewhat of a black art. Those who know how to
produce Moonshine and may have the equipment are reluctant to share their
knowledge. The following pages reflect the information that can be found about the
origin, production, and the science of Moonshine. Use this information at your own
risk. Origin As with a lot of things in American history, Moonshine stems from
taxation.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These crimes carry a much more severe penalty than Moonshining alone. The
Government may seize your property for tax evasion, and sentence to you to 15
years in prison for money laundering. Their primary concerns are still tax revenues
and public safety. Today Moonshine production is not nearly as prominent. This is
mostly due to the availability of reasonably priced Governmentally regulated liquors
in many varieties. Moonshining overall has faded into history, and the people who
still practice it typically do so as a hobby. One thing is for sure, Moonshine played a
major role in America s history and the shaping of our tax policies. Production and
Science Producing Moonshine is relatively easy. As with most fermentation processes
it is all in the technique. Much like a bread baker fermenting and shaping his/her
dough, careful attention must be paid to timing and handling of your product.
Perspective Moonshiners must be conscious of contaminants, temperature, and
quality of ingredients. Another huge consideration is that you cannot go down to
your local food service supply and purchase the equipment you need; you have to
build it. We will start with the equipment. You will need the following equipment:
Fermentation Tank, Heat Source, Homemade Still, and Containers for the Product.
All of these are fairly self explanatory with exception of the Still. Provided is a simple

Defining Abnormality With Consideration of Cultural...
Defining Abnormality With Consideration of Cultural Differences
Cultural differences are always a problem when defining abnormality. What one
would consider completely normal in one culture would be considered abnormal
in another, for example the island of Java often set fire to a ball soaked in petrol
and then play football with it. Here that would be considered wrong and abnormal
but is an everyday occurrence for the people of Java. This concept doesn t only
apply to eastern cultures; the English could be defined as abnormal by other cultures
definitions, even by other western societies e.g. it would not be considered normal
by the Italians to wait at a red light when there are no other cars ... Show more content

When using this approach to define abnormality you would first have to consider
what is normal behaviour for that particular culture otherwise a person could be
incorrectly diagnosed as abnormal.
Cultural differences are also a problem for the Failure to Function Adequately
definition of abnormality. This classification of abnormality involves a person who
conforms to their 7 characteristics of the abnormal as having ill mental health.
Examples of these characteristics are vividness, unconventionality and observer
discomfort. This definition does not state the extent of the characteristic in order
for it to be abnormal, for example we could class the Native Americans who
perform the sun dance (a ritual which involves ripping ropes out of the chests of
dancers) as abnormal as we would experience discomfort from watching this
behaviour, whilst Native Americans take great joy in this activity and it us used as
part of their celebrations.
Other attempts to define abnormality are also limited by cultural differences, for
example the DSM refers only to disorders found in westerners, it does not mention
culture bound syndromes, for example Koro which is found solely in South East
Asia and Pibloqtoq which occurs mainly in cold climates e.g. Greenland Alaska and
the Canadian Arctic. Many disorders in the DSM are specific only to western society;
Persuasive Speech Dog
The Attention Step: A. Capture the audience s attention: Now, by a show of hands,
how many of you own, or know of a friend, who owns a dog? B. Establish your
credibility: Owning a dog is one of my greatest joys and I am sure my fellow dog
owners would agree with me. I ve own 17 dogs throughout my life, 11 different
breads, and fostered 2 of them. I currently own 4 dogs and the 5th is on its way!
ETHOS C. Clarify your purpose: For those of whom do not own a dog, planning on
owning a dog, or undecided, I m here to explain why it s not only good to own a pet
but why you should own a dog. D. Draw attention to their needs: Without further ado,

B. Social Private or shy people who struggle with loneliness issues often find it a
challenge to increase their socialization because of intense feelings of anxiety or
self defeating beliefs. Along the same lines: insecurity, lack of confidence, being an
introvert, fear, low self esteem has been a major setback for people not being able to
socialize with others.
C. Responsibilities Growing up entails more responsibilities you must deal with.
Which can be immensely challenging, especially if you re someone who isn t
organized. Also, financial issues play a huge factor when becoming an adult and
managing expenses can be a hassle. Some examples are taking care of yourself,
working to earn an income, and/or providing for a family.
Job stress is estimated to cost U.S. industry between $200 and $300 BILLION
annually. (Work/Balancing life) 80% of our medical expenditures are stress related
as stated by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Fast Company 2003.

responsibility needs, let me assure you why owning a dog will satisfy those
The Message Of Osama Bin Laden
On May 1, 2011 many Americans received the message we never thought would
come. Every single American was glued to their television sets that evening for a
message we would never forget. It had been previously leaked to the public that
maybe Osama Bin Laden had in fact been killed, but it was still uncertain until
President Obama addressed the nation confirming his death. This ten minute speech
awaited the ears of millions of Americans longing for justice, and that night it had
been served. Barrack Obama was able to convey his message using various rhetorical
devices, making his speech one that was truly effective and memorable.
Our recollection of Osama Bin Laden began on a day that will live in history for
years to come. On September 11th 2011, terrorist hijacked four jetliners. Two
planes were flown in to the World Trade Center towers in New York City, one into
the Pentagon, and the other crashed into a field in southern Pennsylvania. These
terrorist who hijacked these planes and caused the loss of thousands of lives were
part of Osama Bin Laden s terrorist group, al Qaeda. Due to this horrific tragedy,
Americans became emotionally scarred and were scared of the world around them.
Osama became one of the most wanted men alive, and Americans wanted justice.
For ten years we waited for the answer that he was caught, but On May 11th prayers
were finally answered. President Obama s speech was one of the most awaited in
history. His speech restored a sense of confidence in

HISTORY Today I will be talking about the history of King Cakes and Mardi Gras.
The King Cake is a brioche style cake traditionally made throughout the State of
Louisiana during the weeks prior to Mardi Gras. The King Cake tradition is thought
to have been brought to New Orleans from France in 1870. The celebration of Mardi
Gras came to North America from France where it had been celebrated since the
Middle Ages. It s decorated in royal colors of PURPLE which signifies justice ,
GREEN for Faith , and GOLD for power . Today in New Orleans, the king cake is an
oval shaped braided cake similar to a coffee cake which has cinnamon within the
braids ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1871, the tradition of choosing Queen of Mardi Gras was determined by who
drew the prize within the cake. Today, such a find is still deemed to be a sign of
good luck and it customary for the person who discovers the hidden plastic baby to
host the next party. In the past such things as coins, beans, pecans, or peas were
also hidden in each King Cake. In the early 19th century, the public celebration of
Mardi Gras consisted mainly of maskers on foot, in carriages and on horseback. In
1837, a costumed group of revealers walked in the first documented parade , but the
violent behavior of maskers during the next two decades caused the press to call
for an end to Mardi Gras. Fortunately, six New Orleanains who were former
members of the Cowbellions, a group that presented New Years Eve parades in
Mobile, AL, saved the New Orleans Mardi Gras by forming the Comus organization
in 1857. The men beautified the celebration and proved that it could be enjoyed in a
safe manner. Comus coined the word Krewe and established several Mardi Gras
traditions by forming a secret
Jack Kevorkian and Euthanasia
Euthanasia The thin line between life and death has become an ethical issue many
health care providers and the government have long tried to ignore. The
understanding that life begins at birth, and ends when the heartbeat and breathing
have ceased has long been deemed factual. Medical technologies have changed this
with respirators, artificial defibrillators, and transplants (Macionis, 2009). Thus
medical and legal experts in the United States define death as an irreversible state
involving no response to stimulation, no movement or breathing, no reflexes, and no
indication of brain activity (Macionis, 2009, p. 436). The process of deciding when a
terminally ill patient should die lies within the patient, family members, and the...

This was hardly doing it right as Dr. Kevorkian likes to believe. (The New York
Times, 2007, para.6) By contrast, Oregon being the only law allowing terminally
ill adults to request a lethal dose of drugs from a physician requires two physicians
to agree the patient is of sound mind and has less than six months to live. California
is in the works of voting on a similarly careful measure. One of its sponsors cites Dr.
Kevorkian as the perfect reason we need this law in California. We don t want there to
be more Dr. Kevorkians (The New York Times, 2007). Dr. Kevorkian s assisted
suicides and euthanasia is an example of structural functionalism Structural
functionalism is a framework for building theory that sees society as a complex
system whose parts work together to promote solidarity and stability. A social
function is the consequences of a social pattern for the operation of society as a
whole. Types of social functions are manifest function, latent function and
dysfunctions. Manifest function is the recognized and intended consequences of any
social pattern. Latent function is the unrecognized and unintended consequences of
any social pattern. Dysfunctions are any social pattern that may disrupt the operation
of society (Macionis, 2009). Kevorkian s situation
The Importance Of Television Monitoring
Television Monitoring I understand that not all society s ills are caused by television,
any more than they can be solved by television (Tracey). Some people think that
networks should control harmful television content, while others think it is up to the
parents. The previous quote is written by Michael Tracey, who wrote one side of the
argument, Networks Should Take Responsibility for Harmful Television Content .
Tracey believes that major network affiliate stations should ban harmful television
content because of negative ideas being placed on children. The other side of the
argument, Parents Should Take Responsibility for Harmful Television Content is
written by Adam Thierer, who argues that it is the parent s responsibility to censor
what their children are watching. Thierer had the stronger argument, saying parents
should take control of television content. Each author had a role to explain to readers
why their argument was the right one. Tracey argues that networks should be
responsible for harmful television content. He tried to explain to readers that
networks were displaying content that is harmful to children, and that it could affect
the rest of their lives. Why wait for the regulators? Why not establish voluntary
restrictions on what advertising is aimed, through your station, at young children
(Tracey)? This shows how Tracey is trying to reach out to parents and networks to
explain how they are negatively affecting children. Thierer, on the other
Analysis Of Camera Lucida
Through close reading of Barthes Camera Lucida, the relationship between death as
conveyed in photographs becomes a very interesting topic. When analyzing the
dichotomy discussed in Barthes text, Camera Lucida, between subject and object and
the implications of each in terms of images, private life, and death, Nolan s film
Memento fills in the binary opposition with gray areas, as it reveals that images do,
in fact, preserve privacy, especially in the specific case of Lenny s image of death
where the image becomes more private than that which privacy itself can offer when
Lenny burns it, allowing us to reevaluate Barthes and ask if burning an image can
really bring an object back from being an object once transformed. In his text Camera
Lucida, Barthes describes the experience of having his photographtaken as a micro
version of death (14). The text suggests that the practice of taking photographs has a
transformative property, where the subject of the photo feels the transformation from
the subject to an object. The text compares the transformation to death because the
photograph essentially strips the subject of life for the moment, leaving only a
physical object behind. The camera can only catch an instant in time, and so as the
moment the photo is taken, as Barthes describes it, is the very subtle moment when,
to tell the truth, I am neither subject nor object but a subject who feels he is
becoming an object (14). To become an image is to become Death in person,
Vaccine Of The Vaccine Autism Connection
The Vaccine Autism Connection Being a parent is a never ending full time job.
Constantly on the run, doing laundry, making food, and wiping snotty noses, you are
faced with decisions to make for your child every day. One of those important
decisions is whether or not to vaccinate your child. In today s society this has become
a tough choice to make as negative light has been casted upon vaccinations and their
safety. False allegations of vaccines causing Autism have led parents from vaccinating
their children, but research has proven that vaccinations are not the cause of Autism
and parents should continue to vaccinate for the safety of their child as well as
society. For thousands of years, diseases have taken the lives of millions of people,
wiping out towns and spreading across countries. Disease like the measles, mumps,
whooping cough, chicken pox and hepatitis are just a few of the diseases that can be
prevented through the use of vaccinations. Though vaccines do not make the bacteria
that caused the disease to go away, it helps control the outbreaks within societies,
keeping children from getting sick and preventing death. Without the prevention from
vaccines, the bacteria from those diseases will start to flourish resulting in the
outbreaks within communities. Herd immunity is when the majority of a community
is immunized against a contagious disease; most members of the community are
protected against that disease because there is little opportunity for an outbreak.
Effects of Alcoholism on the Human Health and Social Life
Title Effects of alcoholism on the human health and social life General purpose
/objective The speech is aimed at highlighting the negative effects that excessive
intake of alcohol and habitual alcoholism can have on the social aspects of a
person and the health repercussions of the aforementioned behavior. The content of
the speech is largely informative and in very small part persuasive for people to
reconsider their drinking habits. Specific purpose The specific objective of the
speech is to give informative facts about the negative effects of alcoholism within
the American population and the youth in particular. Thesis statement The
excessive intake of alcohol also referred to as alcoholism can cause diseases as well
as negative connotation and lack of responsible social life particularly among the
youth who should be the most productive age group in the American population.
Introduction Attention material The audience will be asked to indicate weather they
have been affected by alcoholism directly or indirectly. They will be asked to name
the few effects they have experienced that they never liked about people engrossed in
alcoholism and the extended effects that they have seen on the family. The audience
will then be given the statistics concerning alcoholism and the statistics will be
dissected down to the youth population since it is this age group that will be
predominantly present for the speech. This will acts as a point of identifying the
topic to

Examples Of Escapism In Catcher In The Rye
The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger, is about a very troubled, adolescent
teenage boy and three extremely pivotal days in his life. Holden Caulfield, the
protagonist of this novel, is in search of something in his life. Something that he can
hold on to, someone to catch him. However, Holden cannot find what he is looking
for in life, because everything he sees is phony. To him, the world is full of
transparent people living transparent lies. Holden finds himself in the midst of a
phony, greedy and destructive world, which he unsuccessfully tries to escape several
times. In an attempt to protect himself from what he sees as the predatory nature of
society, Holden surrounds himself and his mind with forms of escapism, but
ultimately fails. Holden attempts to use physical and mental escapism many times
throughout the novel. In the early chapters of The Catcher in... Show more content on

unsuccessful at fixing his ultimate problem, because the lies only make his
situation worse. In the final chapters of The Catcher in the Rye, Holden finally
gets a glimpse of how to make things better. By protecting others, like his sister
Phoebe, Holden is finally able to protect himself, in a way. As C.W. Trowbridge
puts it in his article, The catcher, in fact, wants to be caught, the saviour [sic] saved.
(Trowbridge p. 688) Holden sees in Phoebe the very thing he is desiring to prevent
from the children around him, a fall from innocence. In the last few chapters of
The Catcher in the Rye, Holden finally realizes that the fall from innocence and into
an adult world really is not as bad as it seems. Because of his sister Phoebe, Holden

South Korea s Historical Struggle With Tyrannical Rule
Essay
AbstractConsidering South Korea s historical struggle with tyrannical rule, the nation
has become quite a democratic force, mirroring its European and American
counterparts. Being a country that caters to different values, cultures, and social
structures, there are some considerable differences of their Criminal Justice System,
specifically their criminal procedures, policing, and prison populations. However, due
to their adaption of Western legal traditions there are similar marks within South
Koreas laws and constitution. Introduction
In the face of the initial plan of a unified Korea in the 1943 Cairo Declaration,
intensifying Cold War resentment between the Soviet Union and the United States, as
well as tensions within Korea with the Korean War, eventually led to the
establishment of separate governments, each with its own system, and to the division
of Korea into two political entities in 1948: North Korea and South Korea (Gohar,
1988). South Korea is a relatively small nation in the east located in the Southern
portion of the Korean Peninsula; it shares a properly guarded border with North
Korea, a communistic nation. To give more geographical perspective, South Korea
is surrounded by the Yellow Sea and the Sea of Japan, in which its namesake is not
too far off in the southeastern direction. With a population of around 50 million
people, more than half of its people is located in the country s capital, Seoul (Joo,
2015). Although it is a country of small
Dystopian Literature Analysis
1.Dystopia: Definition and Characteristics Dystopia is the anti utopia. It is defined as
a futuristic, imagined universe in which oppressive societal control and the illusion of
a perfect society are maintained through corporate, bureaucratic, technological, moral,
or totalitarian control. Dystopias, through an exaggerated worst case scenario, make a
criticism about a current trend, societal norm, or political system. Dystopiais shown as
an alternative to the utopia, it represents a vision of a fictional society that is made
imperfect and flawed by the influences of tyranny, terrorism, poverty, misery and

In addition to that, Chad Walsh, in Utopia to Nightmare, says I submit that the shift
from utopian to dystopian fiction is important. Quite possibly, it foreshadows one of
those really massive psychological shifts that sometimes occur over a whole culture
(117).Dystopian literature is characterized, by Terry Chung, as fiction that presents a
negative view of the future of society and humankind (par. 3). The historical events
that happened during the twentieth century contributed in the raise of dystopian
literature the Nazi era in Germany, the Stalin era in Russia. Industrial revolution,
World War I, the Russian Revolution, growing awareness of environmental damage,
rapid progress of technology, popularization of capitalistic trends as well as fear that
machine could take power on the men were the reasons for appearance of creation of
dystopian literature. Author of dystopian fiction are often inspired by political and
cultural problems. This kind of literature came as a response to various wars over the
decades, and as a commentary upon various totalitarian regimes. Common dystopian
themes in literature are: mastery of nature, technological advances that enslave
humans or regiment their lives, mandatory division of people into castes or groups
with specialized functions, and a collective loss of memory and
Germany Third Reich
The creation of the Third Reich under the rule of Adolf Hitler has since been the
cause of much debate, due to its inconceivability. The extremity of the atrocities
committed during this government s rule is of such an enormous scale that it seems
implausible, considering the civilised structure of our society. As well as imposing a
fascist and anti Semitic regime onto Germany, he also attempted a Jewish genocide.
For such an event to have occurred in an advanced civilization is extremely unlikely,
however, it was possible owing to the fact that Germany actually was not a stable
country at the time.

European Expansion of the World Essay This essay will demonstrate the negative
consequences, both economic and socio cultural of the European s arrival to
indigenous populations in 1450 1550. It will cover the effects of mercantilism as
well as those of massacres. The indigenous populations were negatively impacted
economically by mercantilism, which is an economic system which essentially is,
the more money a country has, the more powerful it is. With this idea, the Europeans
went to great lengths to increase their storage of wealth. They even went as far as to
enslave the Native populations to work in the gold and silver mines. Almost every
group of European settlers used Native slaves for construction, mining and

The Effect Of A Clock Reaction On The Reaction Rate Of
A...
A clock reaction is a form of chemical reaction where multiple reagents are placed
together with no apparent change after a time lag until a dramatic colour change
appears called the induction period (King, Preece and Billingham, 1999). This
abrupt colour change can be due to the limiting reagent being fully consumed which
allows the remaining chemicals to react resulting in a colour change. Specific kinetic
and stoichiometric conditions are required for this standard clock behaviour to occur.

Figure 1: Effect of order on the reactant (UCDAVIS 2, 2017)
Typically, the order of a reactant does not go beyond a second order. The greater the
order is, the greater the increase in reaction rate when the reactant is doubled. The
sum of the order of reactants for the experiment is then the order of the overall
reaction (UCDAVIS 2, 2017).
The two methods to determine the rate law of a kinetics experiment is by initial rates
and by integrated rate law. To utilise the initial rates method, multiple experiments can
be conducted with differing concentrations and measuring the initial rate for the
reactions (Yamauchi, Nord and Schullery, 2016). From this, the reaction order for
the corresponding substance can be calculated and the rate constant can be found.
However, the method of initial rates requires the chemical reaction to be fairly slow
and since several experiments need to be executed, it is not an ideal method.
The integrated rate law method utilises integrated rate laws in comparison with the
collected data relating concentration and time during a kinetics experiment
(SparkNotes, 2017). This method finds the order of the reactant by plotting the time
versus a function of the concentration data and using trial and error with a selected
rate law. If the integrated rate law is correct, the data points will appear linear and if
it is not linear then
The Pros And Cons Of Fear Of Black Americans
The fear in black Americans has been a continuing issue for a long period of time
in America. The black Americans fear death, violence, and racial discrimination
out in the streets and schools due to the white people on how they view black
Americans because of the color of their skin. These views by white people make
them feel empower than the people of color. Being black in America was to have
many disadvantages and the mistrust by other people. According to the author, To
be black in the Baltimore of my youth was to be naked before the elements of the
world, before all the guns, fists, knives, crack, rape, and disease. The law did not
protect us. And now, in your time, the law has come an excuse for stopping and
frisking you, which is to say, for furthering the assault on your body (Coates p. 17)...

In today s society, the law does not protect you because of your skin color and that
is one of the reasons my generation fears. Law enforcement nowadays, stop and frisk
you out in the streets due to your color of your body regardless if you are at the right
place that moment. The fear of black Americans is being discriminated and
criminalized by law enforcement daily. Another fear in the lives of black Americans
is being looked different such as negative judgements and stereotypes. For instance,
ghetto, uneducated, gang affiliated, ignorant, criminal, worthless, and unsuccessful.
These are several stereotypes that black Americans have to face daily in

Supermarket duopoly and Price Wars
Woolworths and Coles strong power is becoming the deciding factor of Australia s
economic health. Both of these are supermarket giants which are eliminating the
competitors from the market and, the local manufacturers and farmers are also
feeling pressurized. 1 They have brought in the position of duopoly in the market
wherein for certain service, industry or commodity only two suppliers, businesses and
organizations dominate. Woolworths and Coles are squeezing the supplier s margins
as their market share is growing continuously. 80% of the share of the Australian
grocery market is held by both of them together and globally also they hold unique
positions. 1 With 96% of the active trading business and employment to over five
million Australians, small businesses highly contribute to the Australian economy.
The small local shops struggle to compete and the consumer s favourite brands
disappear in duopoly which is prevalent now. The two supermarket giants

Messages Depicted in HawthorneВґs The MinisterВґs
Black...
Nathaniel Hawthorn was an American novelist and short story writer. He is also a
very interesting writer to analyze due to the psychological complexity of his work.
Most of his works feature moral allegories with a Puritan inspiration. His fiction
works are considered part of the Romantic Movement and, more specifically, dark
romanticism. His themes often center on the inherent evil and sin of humanity, and
his works often have moral messages and deep psychological complexity. More
specifically, in The MinisterВґs Black Veil and Young Goodman Brown these
qualities and characteristics of his works are quite easy to see. In contrast with many
other points of view and many other conclusions from different readers they might

And it was I that brought your father a pitch pine knot, kindled at my own hearth,
to set fire to the Indian village in King s Phillip war (611). Here is where Hawthorn
started to point out the hypocrisy of the puritan religion and the sinful nature of all
man. Later, Hawthorn continued to point out the hypocrisy of puritans at its
outmost. If it be as thou sayest, replied Goodman Brown, I marvel they never
spoke of these matters. Or, verily, I marvel not, seeing that the last rumor of the
sort would have driven them from New England (612). Here Hawthorn tries to
show how puritans kept their most dark sins hidden from even their most beloved,
making them hypocrites towards God, society and their religious beliefs. As the
story continues Goodman has an internal battle, he is trying not to continue through
the dark forest, the only think that is giving him the strength to get out from there
is the memory of his wife Faith. When he lifted his hands to pray, a cloud appeared
upon his head, then he heard a voice uttering lamentations, it came from a woman, it
was Faith s voice. Then he heard a new scream from the same voice that drowned
immediately into a louder murmur of voices, fading into far off laughter, as the dark
cloud swept away. Those other voices were the voices of the unseen multitude, both
saints and sinners which encourage Brown s faith to disappear. My Faith is gone!

Addiction In The Film Limitless
Jean Cocteau, a famous French writer said: It is difficult to live without opium after
having known it because it is difficult, after knowing opium, to take earth seriously.
And unless one is a saint, it is difficult to live without taking earth seriously. Drugs
makes someone s life easier at first sight, but in fact, they only make life harder to
handle as addictiongrows. This double standard is depicted in the movie Limitless, a
2011 Hollywood movie directed by Neil Burger, staring Bradley Cooper and Robert

from drugusage that allows him to access 100% of his brain s capacity, but later in

Neil Burger s view of the impact of the drug on the human body is clearly
hyperbolized and fictional in the movie; however, it is inspired by the reality of
other drugs such as nootropics who have similar effects on the person who takes
them. The director also shows that taking drugs not only involves you, but adds a
whole other dimension to it by involving violence scenes, and put in danger other
peoples life as well like Eddy did when he asked Lindy to bring him his pill. The
director s choice in the camera lights, the music theme, and the small detail captures

Benedict Arnold Motivation
Benedict Arnold, the most recognized name in American History 101 (Kullman,
2015), has become tantamount with the word traitor. Nowadays, Benedict Arnold has
become infamous for his treacherous plot of giving West Point to the Redcoats, but I
like to believe that most people overlook his paramount embroilment in the early
stages of the Revolutionary War and the reasons that he decided to betray the United
States. Arnold s decision wasn t one dimensional. In other words, many factors were
prevalent during the time of his attempt at treasonthat could have tipped him into the
idea of betraying America.
Born on January 14, 1741 in Norwich, Connecticut, Benedict Arnold appeared to
most as an interesting figure. According to Notable Biographies (n.d.), Arnold was
a risk taker who looked for outlets for his energetic and impulsive (taking action
before thinking things through) nature. He volunteered for the French and Indian
War (1754 63), a war fought between France and England in America for control of
the colonial lands, but at eighteen he deserted in order to be with his mother, who
was dying. Arnold s impulsive behavior and his aptitude for war continued to be
prevalent in his life, but one thing that haunted his childhood would have to be
death, seeing that three of his siblings and both his parents died. Arnold s mother
passed away in 1759. Secondly, Arnold s father proved to be a drunkard; only after
[Benedict Arnold] moved to New Haven could he begin to free himself

frequently motivated by the law; a copious amount of organizations practice ethics in
order to be accepted by the community, not to mention in order to ensure a successful
business. Ethical values can have a focal point on organizational concerns which

hospital s mission statement states: We are a family of dedicated Healthcare
professionals committed to providing exceptional healthcare and service by
exceeding the expectations of every patient, every day (West Houston Medical

responsible for ethical patient treatment centered together with patient valued care
when it comes to providing caring for our patients. The care which patients receive
along with the hospital s business operation plays a substantial part in which way the
members of the surrounding neighborhoods view the organization. The principal goal

How Has Hispanic Culture Influenced American Culture
Hispanics have greatly influenced U.S. culture. Their contributions have impacted
just about every aspect of society and they have become a part of our nation s
diversity. Hispanics are typically defined as people from Spanish speaking countries
or directly from Spain. According the to U.S. Census Bureau (2015), Hispanics make
up more than 17% of the population with 55 million living in the United States. More
than half of the population live in just three states; California, Florida and Texas
which makes the people of Hispanic origin the nation s largest ethnic or racial
minority. As such, we see their influence in the culture of our businesses, in politics,
and in film, food, music and art.
Traditional Hispanic music has strong roots in the United States and is characterized
by its rhythm, along with a mixture of instrumental and vocal leads. The arrival of
Columbus brought a mix of languages and cultures that helped to define Hispanic
music. Its history can be traced back to the slaves from that came from Africa, the
Europeans, the Spanish and the Portuguese who all cohabitated in United States all

The City Of New York City Essay
Throughout the centuries humans have seen cities rise and fall; each one had its own
unique style and charm. Although no city is completely alike, they all have one thing
in common: the elements that create them. Without these components, cities would
not be successful and they would not foster memorable urban experiences. The main
critical elements that are essential when designing a spatially rich urban condition are
density, street, hierarchy, urban edge, streetwall and facades, and public/urban space.
When a person thinks of New York City, one of the first things that comes to mind is
how crowded it is, not only because of the sheer amount of people but because of
the plethora of buildings as well. In other words, Manhattan is the perfect
representation of density. Cities have large and rapidly growing populations due to
the fact that people have been moving to big urban areas in search of opportunities
for many years, and cities have an obligation to provide those opportunities for the
public. Consequently, the more people there are, the bigger the demand is for
residential, commercial, and school buildings. Cities must meet those demands by
expanding, which is where density comes in. Without density, a city would look like
and act as any other suburb. The density, or structures, of a city can be either planned
or unplanned. Spiro Kostof, author of The City Shaped: Urban Patterns and
Meanings Through History, states, The first kind is the planned or designed or

airline. But till date it has come out to be a failure. When any two organizations

Indian Airlines flew domestic flights, the compensation given to these pilots varied a

Heart Of Darkness Racism Quotes
Throughout Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, the issue of racism is extremely
evident. There are many themes in this book and I believe that racism is one of
them. You can tell that whites are to be superiors and the blacks are to be inferiors
through every aspect of the reading. The Africans are viewed negatively in every
way. The humanity of black people is called in question. (Achebe). This theme
should be recognizable because racism still has its effects on today s world. Today s
form of racism is more stereotyping and bullying, rather than slavery and harsh
treatment. The novel is racist because of the irrational diction, the unfair treatment,
and the contrast between the Europeans and the natives. As you read the Heart of
Darkness, there are many harsh words and descriptions made... Show more content on

on long black legs, waving long black arms. In contrast, this quote is a vague
description of a black man. This shows that the natives are looked upon as less than
the Europeans. The cannibals are even described as fine fellows. With this being
said, I would assume that the cannibals are white men, even though it isn t given in
the book. Furthermore, the language of the Europeans contrasts the language of the
Africans. The Europeans are exhibited to have a very good sense of language.
However, the natives exchanged short grunting phrases. For example, when the
native announced that Kurtz was dead he simply said, Mistah Kurtz he dead. This
makes it seem that the natives are uneducated and less capable compared to the white
men. The Europeans are set on a higher pedestal in every category compared to the

Analysis of the Uncertainty Reduction theory on interpersonal communication
Through this paper I will conduct an analysis of the uncertainty reduction theory and
will then apply it to my own experience here in Colorado university.
This theory has been subject to many articles and studies in the communication and
social departments. Indeed, studying this theory can help us understanding human
relations in interpersonal communication. Each of us has been one day confronted to
uncertainty, whereas in initial encounters, or moving to a new a new place, or
beginning a new work.
This theory is particularly important for me as I experienced high uncertainty when I

Curiosity can be a real good motivator and if we can not predict the behavior of this
person, we will seek information in order to predict future behavior.
ГјAnticipation: Basically, if you donВґt think that you will be somebody again in the
future , your motivation to reduce uncertainty will decrease. You will have the
impression to habe done all these efforts for nothing.
As we can see, the theory of uncertainty reduction exlain us why we behave like we
do in our relation with others. But the theory of Berger has been subject to many
studies. For example
, for Sunnafrank developed in his predicted outcome value theory that what
motivates you to seek for further information is the expected positive benefices you
think to obtain. According to this theory when, output value are seem to be positive
for oneself, our motivation to seek information increases. But in the contrary, if we
expect negative outcome, we will decrease our motivation and in the worst cass stop
looking for information.in others words if somebody feels that a person can be
rewarding to him , he will look forward to get more information about him. His
theory is similar to the high incentive value condition of Berger.
Some scholars have noticed some problems with this theory . Sometimes information
can actually increase uncertainty rather than reduce it when the information is
unexpected. Sometimes you learn some information about a person that deceive you
and make you seem them different. After that
Characteristics Of Old English Period
Old English Period
In this research paper I will be talking for Old English, Middle English and Modern
English Period, I am going to summarize their main characteristics such as: history,
vocabulary, grammar and writing system. English literature begins before the
fourteenth century. The unity of language consists on the one hand in the insistence
of a language which remains from first to last fairly intelligible and on the other hand
in the continuity of written records handed down generation to generation. These two
conditions were not fulfilled in England until the days of Chaucer. The first
contributor is Anglo Saxon literature and the second is the literature imported from

The Anglo Saxon poetry is generally wistful in form and edifying in spirit, one long
lamentation breathed forth by the zeal and new converts to Christianity. Even though
the earliest forms of English literature have perished and we know that nothing

of four ancient volumes (manuscripts). The first one is that of Beowulf from the
10th century with Judith in it. This manuscript is safely preserved in the British
museum and for the first time it is published in 1815. The second manuscript is the
Exeter Book, third one is Junian Manuscript and the fourth one is Vercelli Book.
Though it is very old this literature has some literal value, it is mainly contained of
poetry which may be divided into Old Pagan Poetry and New Christian Poetry. Both
poetries are written with the same verse stressed and alliterative while as stylistic

Dan Buettner Analysis
Dan Buettner mentioned one point where he said that authoritarian government yield
the greatest happiness. Authoritarian government control people and make decisions
for them. It seems weird because no one likes being controlled and making
decisions for you. I wouldn t be happy if someone restrict me and make decisions for
me.
Cultural values are different for everyone and some people get happiness by abiding
their cultural values with different opinions regarding them. As far as I am
concerned my cultural values give me happiness because I don t feel like I am
compelled to do anything in any way and I can follow my culture and at the same
time I can stand up for what I believe in.
I think religion plays a vital role in a person s happiness.
Detroit Pistons Research Papers

The Freedom Of Political Communication
Introduction: The following piece is to analyse the implied freedom of political
communication, and in doing this an understanding of both the principle and why
the courts are so hesitant to apply the principle will be developed. In its essence the
implied freedom to political communication is the freedom given to the public for
freedom of speech of a political nature. Evidence of where this freedom was not
given could be seen during the chairman Mao rule in china, where the Chinese
believed that the chairman was essentially God and speaking bad of him would
result in biblical destruction of life, and as so currently in north Korea under the Kim
Jung Un rule. There are a number of cases that have developed the constitutionally

The source of the freedom: It is extremely important to understand the High Courts
positioning on the sources of the freedom because it is essentially the precursor to the
courts positioning on the nature, scope, content and application of the freedom. For a
number or reasons the ACTV and the Nationwide case are considered together when
looking into the implied freedom of political communication, one reason being that
they were both decided on the same day, but more so because they both identify the
thought pattern behind the freedom. The ACTV case came about when a number of
broadcasting corporations, as well as the NSW government challenged a
commonwealth legislative amendment, pt IIIID of the Broadcasting and television
Act 1942 (CTH), after a commonwealth parliamentary inquiry that found that the high
cost and low quality of advertising was harmful to the Australian political process.

Did you know that there are different holiday characters around the world? When
you think of the holidays who do you think of? Is it Santa or Krampus or one of the

of. These characters come from a multitude of places and countries. These figures are
also all related to the christmasseason. There are many different icons that are
celebrated around the world and represent different holidays.
Santa Claus is one of the most well known characters. Santa Claus became more
popular when Clement C. Moore wrote a story called A visit from St. Nicholas .
He wrote a book about what Santa looked like and what he did. One tradition is
people will go to a public place and sit on Santa s lap. Many places have a person
dressed like Santa where kids can go up and sit on their lap and tell them what they
want for Christmas. Another tradition is people put up a Christmas tree so Santa
can put presents under it. People put up pine trees with lights and ornaments on it
and on Christmas Eve if you were good Santa puts gifts under it. The last tradition
is Santa comes every year on Christmas Eve night and delivers presents to kids. If
you were good Santa will fill your stockings and put gifts under your tree but if you
were bad you get a lump of coal. This is why Santa Claus is a big hit across America.
La Befana is a holiday icon who delivers gifts to kids in Italy. La Befana delivers

Eastern Facade Of The Louvre Essay
Intro
The Eastern Façade of the Louvre was the one of most important architecture in the
seventeen century. The Façade is the main entrance for royal palace in its original
proposal. However, Louis XIV, who decided to build this architecture with his finance
minister, moved to the ChГўteau de Versailles as his royal palace. Nowadays, this
side of the Louvre is an inconspicuous entrance of the Louvre Museum. As a palace
entrance, the eastern Facade of the Louvre responded the traditional chateau in France
by the space s quality and its French classicism style. However, the pyramid shape of
I.M.Pei s design is too attracting the people s attention to let people ignoring the real
entrance which is the Eastern Facade of the Louvre, even if the Eastern Louvre is the
one of the most important architecture in the seventeenth century.

What Is The Middle Class Characters In The Pardoners Tale
Middle Class England
To be rich or to be poor that s the question of life. Their are some people that are
poor. There are some people that are very well of. Then there s that group of people
that sits right in the middle between poor and rich. This cluster of people is the
group of white collar workers who make enough money to live comfortably. This
group is the middle class, and in the story the Pardoner s Tale there is three
characters that are deemed as middle class people. These three are Merchant, the
Oxford Cleric, and the Sergeant of Law. The author does a good job depicting the
life of a middle class person. He this does by showing the three main aspects that
separates them. By describing their degree of wealth, their level of education , and
their political power.
The first middle class character we are introduced to is the merchant. The
merchant was a middle class man trying to live like he had lots of money. He spent
money on clothes that he could not afford. He also borrowed lots of money and
spent the borrowed money on clothes. He was a man of trade and was very good at
his job. He did not need a high level of education for this job. He was also not a man
of high power in politics due to his problem with borrowing money. He was looked

Richard Rodriguez Family Values
Richard Rodriguez received degrees from Stanford University and Columbia
University. He is a writer and editor for many magazines and journals. He has also
written many books, such as; Family Values. He addresses the concept of family
Values and focuses on the controversial thesis that homosexuality; rather than being a
threat to familyvalues is actually a wall against our dissolution. This is something
that relates to us now due to the fact we are moving away from traditional family
values . Women work and are focusing more on careers than having children.
Children are leaving home and becoming their own person and not looking back on
the family they left behind. While some immigrants come to this country and will

Americans are encouraged to leave home and become their own man (Rodriguez
257). Americans talk about Hispanics and their impatience that they don t give up
their family (Rodriguez 261).
For each one of his claims he tells a mini story about each one. I can see why he
made these claims and how they are relevant today. Women are forced to work or
they choose to and would rather do that than have a family. People leave their
parents homes and never look back. When he mentions Hispanics, because he is one
he has more insight of how important family is to them and is qualified to make this
claim.
He points out that the mom in our generation is forced to leave home out of
economic necessity to later show that there are some moms who do not want to be
a mom anymore. Rodriguez says this could become a problem: what if moms
refuse pregnancy in the future? He says mom is only becoming an American like
the rest of us. Rodriguez seems to point out what the mom s job should be in the
family when he says the politician s wife is careful to follow her husband s
sentimental reassurance that nothing has changed about America except perhaps for
the sinister influence of deviants (259). He uses anecdotal evidence to back this
claim. We see in history that women worked at home taking care of the house and
children, the more
What Is The Historical Background Of Roanoke
Roanoke was founded by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1585. His plan was simply to start a
successful settlement. He sent 100 men to settle Roanoke Island. The men returned
back to England after the winter. It is off the coast of present day North Carolina. In
1587, Raleigh sent 91 men, 17 women, and 9 children to the island of Roanoke. John
White led this group. The English had made several attempts to establish a base in
North America. Many attempts however, failed. Soon after, King James I granted
charters to merchants so they could organize settlements as well. My first theory
about Roanoke is that the colonists went to live among the native peoples of the
Outer Banks. I think this because John White himself believed that they had gone to

Purpose Of Selecting A Program
The purpose of selecting this program is to deepen my studies in sustainability in
detailed. Nowadays, sustainability is a topic which research is still maturing, and
designs are relatively new. The intent of this study emphasises in ruralisation of
current urban cities by creating an environment that would allow the residents to
benefit from its geographical and urban function stressing the creation of one
system. Cities in the US and around the world have developed significantly that
much of the land has transformed into Metro areas. In addition to 3 million people
or greater living in these cities, people have exhausted their options and had no
alternative but to rely on high rise architecture. Many architects and landscape
architects, focus their careers trying to create sustainable cities but are still limited
by the maximum space they can utilise. Others emphasise the incorporation of
biophilic mediums to solve the problem, then again, these are very restricted to the
site. As land in some countries are finite and are reaching their maximum
capacities, this will potentially become a problem that must be solved. As
innovative developments in these cities cease, buildings are stacked, rooms
miniaturised, and even expand to restricting areas to accommodate as many people
as possible. Families of four or more members settle in places where room sizes
parallel those of an individual living quarters in low density areas. These areas create
an urban sprawl development that
Choose Online Bookkeeping
Why You Need to Choose Online Bookkeeping Services Heading from traditional

Online or electronic bookkeeping is conceptually very much like on site

Truman s Vision Statement
When I enrolled at Truman State University, I did not realize how my race
impacted me on both a personal and global level. I believed we lived in a post
racial society where race and ethnicity did not matter. However, on Monday,
November 24th, 2014, when officer Darren Wilson was not indicted for the killing
of Michael Brown, I experienced an epiphany. Race matters. Whether an individual
believes that race did or did not play a role in Michael Brown s death, race was
reignited as a prominent topic in America due to the Black Lives Matter movement.
Roland Martin, the host of News One Now, stated in an interview that The reason
Black Lives Matter has been so successful is because they have forced the most
rigorous discussion on police brutality... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Klyukovski, I pondered how my institution dealt with diversity. He proposed
examining Truman s vision statement to understand what the institution will do
when issues of diversity arise. After conducting some preliminary research on
vision statements and generic criticism, I knew this is what I wanted to study. I
was ecstatic that I was able to add to the scholarly conversation centered on vision
statements within higher education. It was incredible learning how such a short
statement served as a reminder of where an organization wants to go. During the
McNair program, I discovered a part of me that I never knew existed, a researcher.
I never thought of myself as that because I believed researchers were naturally
smart, which I was not. However, intelligence is not determined by grades or GPA.
It is about grit, which I gained by never being the victim of my circumstances. As
mentioned earlier, coming to terms with my racial identity definitely impacted my
academics. While I was enraged by Truman s aura, I realized I could not let that
take away from my mental energy anymore. With the arrival of my senior year, I
channeled all that frustration in graduate applications and studies because unless I
did well in those two avenues, I would not be leaving Truman anytime soon. Now, I
have been accepted into five different Master Programs (as of 3/18) at the University
of Texas San Antonio, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, University of Colorado
Denver and Colorado Springs and Saint Louis

Essay For You

  • 1. Essay For You Crafting an essay on the topic "Essay For You" presents a unique set of challenges that intertwine complexity and self-reflection. At first glance, the subject might appear deceptively straightforward, but delving into its intricacies reveals a myriad of layers that demand thoughtful exploration. The inherent paradox lies in the dual nature of the assignment – it's both about the self and the broader concept of 'you.' The challenge arises from the need to strike a delicate balance between personal introspection and universal relevance. One must navigate the fine line between sharing personal experiences and insights while ensuring that the essay resonates with a wider audience. This demands a nuanced understanding of the self, coupled with the ability to connect those experiences to broader themes that transcend individuality. Moreover, addressing the theme of an essay tailored for the reader involves a level of empathy and insight into the expectations, preferences, and perspectives of an unknown audience. It requires the writer to step into the shoes of potential readers, anticipating their reactions and tailoring the content to engage and captivate. The difficulty further amplifies when considering the vast scope of interpretations that the theme allows. "For You" is an expansive canvas that could encompass a plethora of subtopics, ranging from personal anecdotes to philosophical reflections. This requires meticulous planning and a clear, coherent structure to prevent the essay from becoming an erratic exploration without a unifying thread. Ultimately, the challenge lies not only in writing about oneself but also in transcending individual experiences to create a piece that is universally relatable. It demands a fusion of introspection, empathy, and craftsmanship to navigate the complexities of the topic effectively. In conclusion, writing an essay on the theme "Essay For You" is a task that requires a delicate dance between self-disclosure and broader relevance. It demands a keen understanding of the self, an empathetic connection with an audience, and the ability to weave a narrative that seamlessly merges personal experiences with universal truths. Successfully navigating this intricate balance is the hallmark of a well-crafted essay on this challenging topic. For those seeking assistance in tackling such intricate essay topics and more, professional help is readily available. • 2. Art From Baroque Period Through The Postmodern Era Essay Art from Baroque Period through the Postmodern Era Renaissance art history began as civic history; it was an expression of civic pride. The first such history was Filippo Villani s De origine civitatis Florentiae et eiusdem famosis civibus, written about 1381 82. Florentine artists revived an art that was almost dead, Villani asserts, just as Dante had restored poetry after its decline in the Middle Ages. The revival was begun by Cimabue and completed by Giotto, who equalled the ancient painters in fame and even surpassed them in skill and talent. After Giotto came his followers, Stefano, Taddeo Gaddi, and Maso, uomini illustri all, who, together with notable jurists, poets, musicians, theologians, physicians, orators, and others, made ... While rare for being texts on art, they are of a type, however, that was common in Renaissance literature. They belong to a genre or category in which are found some of the most characteristic texts of Renaissance humanism. Other of the books in this category are by such writers as Bruni, Salutati, and Manetti, books with which all students of the Renaissance are familiar. They treat broad moral and philosophical issues, but, as in the accounts of visual art, only insofar as they concern the city of Florence. And scholars reasonably have asked why there was such a preoccupation with Florence at this time. One of those who did so was Hans Baron and his answer has been at the center of discussions of this question since the 1950s. Baron linked the focus on Florence during the years around 1400 to a struggle over Florentine independence that began in 1390 with a declaration of war by Milan and ended only in 1454, when Milan accepted the independent status of the Florentine Republic. These events, he proposed, explain the direction taken by Florentine political speculation at this time, particularly the stress on republican ideals of liberty and civic involvement; they gave rise to a

Approximately 273,000 persons are living with SCI in the United States today and approximately 12,000 new injuries occur per year [1]. Persons with SCI are at extreme risk for developing PrUs due to lack of sensation, immobility, moisture, and multiple other risk factors.2 Prevalence for PrUs in persons with SCI ranges from 14 32%, and recurrence rates have been reported to range from 31 79%.3 PrUs account for approximately one third of all VA SCI admissions and over half of all hospital days for veterans with SCI.3 The cost to manage one full thickness ulcer can be as much as $70,0008 [JRRD paper] and over $17 billion is spent... Furthermore, current nursing practice is to use universal slings and lifts for all transfers and transports involving dependent patients, as taught by practice algorithms in collaboration with the American Nursing Association.14 The impetus behind this research was the observation that patients are frequently left sitting on their slings while in their wheelchairs, for long periods of time, which may interfere with the pressure reducing properties of the wheelchair cushion, placing the patient at risk for PrU development. This research aims to examine whether patient handling slings might contribute to pressure ulcer development in vulnerable populations, specifically persons with SCI. No evidence to date has been published that links the use of slings and lifts to pressure ulceration, and no literature exists which describes the interface pressures developed during suspension from patient handling slings. The main goals of this study were to describe and quantify risks associated with

The Heritage and Science of Moonshine The Heritage and Science of Moonshine David Hinson Mount Olive College The Heritage and Science of Moonshine Moonshine has long existed as a secret part of American culture. Most of us have probably heard of the existence of Moonshine. It is likely that some of us have had the good fortune of running across a batch here or there. In America Moonshining is somewhat of a black art. Those who know how to produce Moonshine and may have the equipment are reluctant to share their knowledge. The Government may seize your property for tax evasion, and sentence to you to 15 years in prison for money laundering. Their primary concerns are still tax revenues and public safety. Today Moonshine production is not nearly as prominent. This is mostly due to the availability of reasonably priced Governmentally regulated liquors in many varieties. Moonshining overall has faded into history, and the people who still practice it typically do so as a hobby. One thing is for sure, Moonshine played a major role in America s history and the shaping of our tax policies. Production and Science Producing Moonshine is relatively easy. As with most fermentation processes it is all in the technique. Much like a bread baker fermenting and shaping his/her dough, careful attention must be paid to timing and handling of your product. Perspective Moonshiners must be conscious of contaminants, temperature, and quality of ingredients. Another huge consideration is that you cannot go down to your local food service supply and purchase the equipment you need; you have to build it. We will start with the equipment. You will need the following equipment: Fermentation Tank, Heat Source, Homemade Still, and Containers for the Product. All of these are fairly self explanatory with exception of the Still. What one would consider completely normal in one culture would be considered abnormal in another, for example the island of Java often set fire to a ball soaked in petrol and then play football with it. Here that would be considered wrong and abnormal but is an everyday occurrence for the people of Java. This concept doesn t only apply to eastern cultures; the English could be defined as abnormal by other cultures definitions, even by other western societies e.g. it would not be considered normal by the Italians to wait at a red light when there are no other cars ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When using this approach to define abnormality you would first have to consider what is normal behaviour for that particular culture otherwise a person could be incorrectly diagnosed as abnormal. Cultural differences are also a problem for the Failure to Function Adequately definition of abnormality. This classification of abnormality involves a person who conforms to their 7 characteristics of the abnormal as having ill mental health. Examples of these characteristics are vividness, unconventionality and observer discomfort. This definition does not state the extent of the characteristic in order for it to be abnormal, for example we could class the Native Americans who perform the sun dance (a ritual which involves ripping ropes out of the chests of dancers) as abnormal as we would experience discomfort from watching this behaviour, whilst Native Americans take great joy in this activity and it us used as part of their celebrations. Other attempts to define abnormality are also limited by cultural differences, for example the DSM refers only to disorders found in westerners, it does not mention culture bound syndromes, for example Koro which is found solely in South East Asia and Pibloqtoq which occurs mainly in cold climates e.g. Greenland Alaska and the Canadian Arctic. Many disorders in the DSM are specific only to western society;

The celebration of Mardi Gras came to North America from France where it had been celebrated since the Middle Ages. Some people think that networks should control harmful television content, while others think it is up to the parents. The previous quote is written by Michael Tracey, who wrote one side of the argument, Networks Should Take Responsibility for Harmful Television Content . Tracey believes that major network affiliate stations should ban harmful television content because of negative ideas being placed on children. The other side of the argument, Parents Should Take Responsibility for Harmful Television Content is written by Adam Thierer, who argues that it is the parent s responsibility to censor what their children are watching. Thierer had the stronger argument, saying parents should take control of television content. Each author had a role to explain to readers why their argument was the right one. Tracey argues that networks should be responsible for harmful television content. He tried to explain to readers that networks were displaying content that is harmful to children, and that it could affect the rest of their lives. Why wait for the regulators? Why not establish voluntary restrictions on what advertising is aimed, through your station, at young children (Tracey)? This shows how Tracey is trying to reach out to parents and networks to explain how they are negatively affecting children. Thierer, on the other
  • 12. Analysis Of Camera Lucida Through close reading of Barthes Camera Lucida, the relationship between death as conveyed in photographs becomes a very interesting topic. When analyzing the dichotomy discussed in Barthes text, Camera Lucida, between subject and object and the implications of each in terms of images, private life, and death, Nolan s film Memento fills in the binary opposition with gray areas, as it reveals that images do, in fact, preserve privacy, especially in the specific case of Lenny s image of death where the image becomes more private than that which privacy itself can offer when Lenny burns it, allowing us to reevaluate Barthes and ask if burning an image can really bring an object back from being an object once transformed. In his text Camera Lucida, Barthes describes the experience of having his photographtaken as a micro version of death (14). The text suggests that the practice of taking photographs has a transformative property, where the subject of the photo feels the transformation from the subject to an object. The text compares the transformation to death because the photograph essentially strips the subject of life for the moment, leaving only a physical object behind. The camera can only catch an instant in time, and so as the moment the photo is taken, as Barthes describes it, is the very subtle moment when, to tell the truth, I am neither subject nor object but a subject who feels he is becoming an object (14). To become an image is to become Death in person,

Constantly on the run, doing laundry, making food, and wiping snotty noses, you are faced with decisions to make for your child every day. One of those important decisions is whether or not to vaccinate your child. In today s society this has become a tough choice to make as negative light has been casted upon vaccinations and their safety. False allegations of vaccines causing Autism have led parents from vaccinating their children, but research has proven that vaccinations are not the cause of Autism and parents should continue to vaccinate for the safety of their child as well as society. For thousands of years, diseases have taken the lives of millions of people, wiping out towns and spreading across countries. Disease like the measles, mumps, whooping cough, chicken pox and hepatitis are just a few of the diseases that can be prevented through the use of vaccinations. Though vaccines do not make the bacteria that caused the disease to go away, it helps control the outbreaks within societies, keeping children from getting sick and preventing death. Without the prevention from vaccines, the bacteria from those diseases will start to flourish resulting in the outbreaks within communities. Herd immunity is when the majority of a community is immunized against a contagious disease; most members of the community are protected against that disease because there is little opportunity for an outbreak.

However, due to their adaption of Western legal traditions there are similar marks within South Koreas laws and constitution. Introduction In the face of the initial plan of a unified Korea in the 1943 Cairo Declaration, intensifying Cold War resentment between the Soviet Union and the United States, as well as tensions within Korea with the Korean War, eventually led to the establishment of separate governments, each with its own system, and to the division of Korea into two political entities in 1948: North Korea and South Korea (Gohar, 1988). A clock reaction is a form of chemical reaction where multiple reagents are placed together with no apparent change after a time lag until a dramatic colour change appears called the induction period (King, Preece and Billingham, 1999). This abrupt colour change can be due to the limiting reagent being fully consumed which allows the remaining chemicals to react resulting in a colour change. Specific kinetic and stoichiometric conditions are required for this standard clock behaviour to occur. Clock reactions can be highly useful to investigate rates of reaction as the rate of the colour change may differ due to varying factors. Figure 1: Effect of order on the reactant (UCDAVIS 2, 2017) Typically, the order of a reactant does not go beyond a second order. The greater the order is, the greater the increase in reaction rate when the reactant is doubled. The sum of the order of reactants for the experiment is then the order of the overall reaction (UCDAVIS 2, 2017). The two methods to determine the rate law of a kinetics experiment is by initial rates and by integrated rate law. To utilise the initial rates method, multiple experiments can be conducted with differing concentrations and measuring the initial rate for the reactions (Yamauchi, Nord and Schullery, 2016). From this, the reaction order for the corresponding substance can be calculated and the rate constant can be found. However, the method of initial rates requires the chemical reaction to be fairly slow and since several experiments need to be executed, it is not an ideal method. The integrated rate law method utilises integrated rate laws in comparison with the collected data relating concentration and time during a kinetics experiment (SparkNotes, 2017). This method finds the order of the reactant by plotting the time versus a function of the concentration data and using trial and error with a selected rate law. If the integrated rate law is correct, the data points will appear linear and if it is not linear then

He is also a very interesting writer to analyze due to the psychological complexity of his work. Most of his works feature moral allegories with a Puritan inspiration. His fiction works are considered part of the Romantic Movement and, more specifically, dark romanticism. His themes often center on the inherent evil and sin of humanity, and his works often have moral messages and deep psychological complexity. More specifically, in The MinisterВґs Black Veil and Young Goodman Brown these qualities and characteristics of his works are quite easy to see. And it was I that brought your father a pitch pine knot, kindled at my own hearth, to set fire to the Indian village in King s Phillip war (611). Here is where Hawthorn started to point out the hypocrisy of the puritan religion and the sinful nature of all man. Later, Hawthorn continued to point out the hypocrisy of puritans at its outmost. If it be as thou sayest, replied Goodman Brown, I marvel they never spoke of these matters. Or, verily, I marvel not, seeing that the last rumor of the sort would have driven them from New England (612). Here Hawthorn tries to show how puritans kept their most dark sins hidden from even their most beloved, making them hypocrites towards God, society and their religious beliefs. As the story continues Goodman has an internal battle, he is trying not to continue through the dark forest, the only think that is giving him the strength to get out from there is the memory of his wife Faith. When he lifted his hands to pray, a cloud appeared upon his head, then he heard a voice uttering lamentations, it came from a woman, it was Faith s voice. Then he heard a new scream from the same voice that drowned immediately into a louder murmur of voices, fading into far off laughter, as the dark cloud swept away. Those other voices were the voices of the unseen multitude, both saints and sinners which encourage Brown s faith to disappear. My Faith is gone! cried he,

Nowadays, Benedict Arnold has become infamous for his treacherous plot of giving West Point to the Redcoats, but I like to believe that most people overlook his paramount embroilment in the early stages of the Revolutionary War and the reasons that he decided to betray the United States. Arnold s decision wasn t one dimensional. In other words, many factors were prevalent during the time of his attempt at treasonthat could have tipped him into the idea of betraying America. Born on January 14, 1741 in Norwich, Connecticut, Benedict Arnold appeared to most as an interesting figure. According to Notable Biographies (n.d.), Arnold was a risk taker who looked for outlets for his energetic and impulsive (taking action before thinking things through) nature. He volunteered for the French and Indian War (1754 63), a war fought between France and England in America for control of the colonial lands, but at eighteen he deserted in order to be with his mother, who was dying. Arnold s impulsive behavior and his aptitude for war continued to be prevalent in his life, but one thing that haunted his childhood would have to be death, seeing that three of his siblings and both his parents died. Arnold s mother passed away in 1759. Secondly, Arnold s father proved to be a drunkard; only after [Benedict Arnold] moved to New Haven could he begin to free himself

  • 31. The City Of New York City Essay Throughout the centuries humans have seen cities rise and fall; each one had its own unique style and charm. Although no city is completely alike, they all have one thing in common: the elements that create them. Without these components, cities would not be successful and they would not foster memorable urban experiences. The main critical elements that are essential when designing a spatially rich urban condition are density, street, hierarchy, urban edge, streetwall and facades, and public/urban space. When a person thinks of New York City, one of the first things that comes to mind is how crowded it is, not only because of the sheer amount of people but because of the plethora of buildings as well. In other words, Manhattan is the perfect representation of density. Cities have large and rapidly growing populations due to the fact that people have been moving to big urban areas in search of opportunities for many years, and cities have an obligation to provide those opportunities for the public. Consequently, the more people there are, the bigger the demand is for residential, commercial, and school buildings. Cities must meet those demands by expanding, which is where density comes in. Without density, a city would look like and act as any other suburb. The density, or structures, of a city can be either planned or unplanned. The Africans are viewed negatively in every way. The humanity of black people is called in question. (Achebe). This theme should be recognizable because racism still has its effects on today s world. In contrast, this quote is a vague description of a black man. This shows that the natives are looked upon as less than the Europeans. The cannibals are even described as fine fellows. With this being said, I would assume that the cannibals are white men, even though it isn t given in the book. Furthermore, the language of the Europeans contrasts the language of the Africans.
