The preliminary task for a school magazine helped the student learn expected conventions and gain fundamental knowledge about using software like Photoshop and Picmonkey. Completing the preliminary task provided understanding of layout, photograph placement, and headlines/text positioning. It also allowed identifying aspects that could be improved upon for the full music magazine coursework project, such as expanding the contents page to cover over 100 pages across 4 color-coded topics. Overall, the preliminary task helped develop planning skills and understanding of audience research through surveys to better target the magazine's audience.

2. ANSWER
 I feel that the preliminary task (for school magazine) helped my a lot
and I learnt the expected codes and conventions of most magazines
and by finishing the task it gave me a better understanding of some
equipment (such as IT software) that I need to use,as well as giving me
some fundamental knowledge on how to make a magazine through
adobe photoshop and picmonkey.For instance I had an idea of a
general layout for my magazine, and I could decide the way my
photographs would be done and where to position headlines and texts.
Also, by looking at my preliminary tasks when I was making my music
magazine I was also able to pick things which I don’t like or wanted to
change and would therefore think of new ways to improve my
coursework and improve it better than my preliminary task.
 For example I felt that the contents page in the preliminary task did not
have information in it, and the contents page did not consist of many
pages/articles. I felt that although this waas appropriate for a school
magazine since school magazine do not have a lot of pages, a music
magazine should be different and should be different and should
contain around 100 pages. So I changed the layout from my
preliminary task and made sure that it covered all the articles across
my contents page which was set over 4 colour categorized according
to topics.

3. ANSWER
 In addition, Completing the preliminary task helped me know to
develop my planning ways for the coursework's and gave me a
higher understanding of how to use audience research such as
surveys to make a target audience. In my conclusion I think that
I have learnt a lot and digested a lot of information from my
preliminiary task to my full coursework project.
