Looking back at your preliminary
task, what do you feel like you have
learnt in the progression from it to
the full product?
• When comparing my preliminary task to my full product there
is a very big difference as when I had first tried to product my
content page and double page spread I had never used
QuardkXPress so it was a very brand new software to me. So I
believe that I have learnt a lot when I had created my full
product relating to the content and double page spread as I
had learnt the right skills to produce it the second time.
Therefore I have shown the difference on my preliminary task
as I believe I have improved and I have shown the
improvement on the full product.
• However, I also believe that my work had progressed
throughout the time of the course of time by creating an
overall professional look on my products but looking at
different magazine genres also allowed me to think what
would be the most suitable and which I thought I would
portray my skills with full potential relating to the codes and
conventions of a rock and roll magazine.
• Over the time of creating my product, I have learnt the codes
and conventions of a typical rock magazines which helped me
progress my production. Therefore for example for the
production my front cover magazine I included masthead,
positioning statement, strapline in the right places applied.
• More over at the start of the course when I had created my
preliminary task for a school magazine; this gave my full
product an indication of how it should look like relating to the
layouts. I also discovered new software such as QuarkXPress.
The preliminary was a rough layout which helped me develop
my real one so it allowed me to improve my skills.
