This document announces the Lone Star Conference weekly golf awards and provides results from recent golf tournaments. Jelina Fernando of West Texas A&M University is named the women's golfer of the week after leading her team to a fifth place finish. Brenda Dominguez of Western New Mexico led her team with a 161 and the team finished in 15th place. Notes are provided on the performances of golfers from various Lone Star Conference schools.

Fernando paced the Lady Buffs to a top five finish in the first tournament of the spring at the Rattler Invitational hosted
by St. Mary's. Fernando fired a 77 and 78 for a 155 score and was the only Lady Buff golfer to fire both rounds in the
70s. She led the No. 18 Lady Buffs to a 633 score and a fifth place finish.

Brenda Dominguez, Western New Mexico, led the Lady Mustangs with a 161 to tie for 37th at the Rattler
Invitational. She came away with rounds of 80 and 81, posting three birdies during the final round. WNMU as a team
had rounds of 338 and 341 for a 679 to finish in 15th out of 17 teams. They were just two-shots back of No. 46 Angelo
State.

The Lady Buffs opened the spring season with a 633 score and a fifth place finish at the Rattler Invitational hosted by St.
Mary's Tuesday...WT carded rounds of 319 and 314 for the 633 score...The No. 18 Lady Buffs defeated seven ranked
teams, including No. 17 Midwestern State (634) and No. 8 Missouri-St. Louis (634)...Sophomore Jelina Fernando paced
the team with a 77 and 78 as the only Lady Buff to fire both rounds in the 70s...WT returns to action next Moday at the
St. Edward's Invitational.
Western New Mexico
Ruston paced the Mustangs as he finished in the top-10, tying for ninth with a 221 at the CSU San Marcos Fujikura
Invitational. Ruston fired rounds of 76-68-77 for his 221. His second round 68 was the best on the squad regardless of
round. He also led the team in par-four scoring (3.90), nearly leading the entire field and led the team in pars with 35.
WNMU as a team posted a 903 to finish eighth out of 16 teams. Dominguez led the Lady Mustangs with a 161 to tie for
37th at the Rattler Invitational. She came away with rounds of 80 and 81, posting three birdies during the final round.
