An LFA provides a logical framework for planning and implementing projects through a systematic structure. It outlines the key components of a project, including the goal, objectives, activities, outputs, and indicators. The steps in an LFA include stakeholder analysis, cause-effect analysis, objectives analysis, and alternatives analysis to design the project. At the core is a temporal logic model that connects planned activities to outputs, outcomes, and the overall goal through a series of propositions. The LFA can be visualized through a Work Breakdown Structure that hierarchies the deliverables and work units in a project for clear description and establishment of the resource plan, budget, schedule and other documents.

1. LOGICAL FRAME WORK
An LFA is a management tool for effective planning and implementation of developmental projects. It
provides clear, concise and systematic information about a project through a framework. We know about
various components of a project such as goal, objectives, activities, results and indicators.
What are the steps in logical framework analysis?
These steps include a stakeholder analysis, cause-effect analysis, objectives analysis, and alternatives
analysis culminating in the design of the project. The matrix, which summarizes the final design of the
project, usually comprises 16 frames organized under 4 major headings (SALDANHA and WITTLE 2002).

2. Temporal Logic Model The core of the Logical Framework is the "temporal logic model" that runs through
the matrix. This takes the form of a series of connected propositions:  If the planned activities are
implemented, and the assumptions hold, then the outputs will be delivered  If the outputs are delivered,

to visualize the project outcomes becomes an imperative in order to better understand the relationships
between inputs activities outputs and the higher objectives and goals of the project. The Work Breakdown
Structure (WBS) is another planning tool used to define a project in terms of its outputs while providing a

With the WBS, project managers will be able describe the outcomes of a project in a way that is clear to
members of the project team as well as the project’s stakeholders, beneficiaries and donors, while at the
same time capturing the order and sequence of the work necessary to produce those outputs. The WBS
provides a means for carefully detailing the outputs of the project and facilitates the identification of
specific the work elements, and groupings required to deliver each element. Additionally, once it is
complete, the WBS becomes an essential building block and a reference point for other project plan
